I wish I could be more like Milo. Instead, over the years, I have become more and more BUSY. Seeing this video, I am reminded how far I have strayed from the pure state of mind that I possessed (maybe not the right word) a calm center that brought clarity and depth to everything.

Moving video. I'd love to experience Tassajara at some point.

I really want to spend time at Tassajara. I do not have a Zen teacher to make a recommendation for me. I love the communal aspect since the solitary individual journey is already emphasized. It seems very balanced.

What is it like being a guest at the Zen Center? Are guests people who pay to stay a few days?

Visited the web page and I'm not sure if I understood this correctly, but I got the impression that one had to practice/serve for some time at either Green Gulch or the City Center sites before being allowed to serve/practice at Tassajara. Can anyone speak to this? Thank you. Looks like an amazing opportunity to deepen one's practice. The only part of this that didn't resonate with me would be having to attend the "social justice" talks. Not sure if those are required to attend or not.

I felt the same. Those can often be highly charged, and many times ive witnessed, they also create a lot of division, if one doesn’t follow the group rhetoric, or expresses nuance.
Generally, cultural perfume is no different I guess, to Bon getting infused into Tibetan Buddhism, superstition into Chinese Buddhism etc. Dharma will always get mixed with the shape/needs of the culture. Hopefully there’s some awareness of that.
Anyhow I enjoyed the video. To the guy in the “straw hat” - you’re beautiful. I feel like I could listen to your voice for a long time.
