I find myself watching Nick BECAUSE of his workflow. I've picked up so many tricks in the software that I never would have learned by accident or on my own. I'll never fly around the guitar like he does, but I can, at least, fly around the computer.
This is easily my favorite work of yours on this series so far, the absolutely mad chorus section from last video into this is such a vibe! really hope you turn this into a full song someday!
It's so nice to see you really just vibing to your own shit. Obviously there are thick riffs, but when you get the MOOD going it's like you're participating in the song rather than strictly writing it. Love it.
As someone who tries to produce music themselves, I love watching these videos. It's a great insight into how you create songs and soundscapes but also really good inspiration as well
Man I have really started to love this series in the sense that it has inspired me to write and create my own music. You just bring that chilled and relaxed vibe of creating awesome tunes and combine it with either completely different heavy riffs or something that suits the chill vibe perfectly. Just amazing work, cheers!
I don't consume a lot of youtube content, but every time I see you post I know I'm going to have something to watch soon. Thanks for always being classy and interesting to watch. \m/
Recently discovered these videos and it's awesome to see the process on creating and building riffs into songs. Keep up the great work! Maybe a studio tour some day?
I think what would really be cool is going back to episode 1 and writing b sections for every thick riff Thursday song so far... More like developing the ideas you already have... Cos a problem a face with my writing is I get a really good riff but it's too short to be a song cos I don't know where to go from that one cool riff ... Great video as always man 🔥❤️
1:59 SO REAL I’ve done a lot of projects trying to copy exact voicings on keys/synths and not been happy with them. GO THROUGH AND REARRANGE THE VOICES it’ll add so much flavor and variety to your song
This was a lovely little vibe. Thoroughly enjoyed. Where the fuck was the whole song playthrough, though?! 😂In all seriousness, though, would love to hear this fully strung together and given the complete song treatment with someone singing on it. 👌
Can we agree nothing that uses the 'dotted 8th note' delay is ever gonna sound cooler than Masamune? (verse lead part in Karnivool's Goliath is a contender too)
So, about that Whammy IV.. does the dry out on the side destroy the signal too or is it just the wet out? It'd be a minor inconvenience, but just being able to swap between dry/wet inputs into your interface could solve the issue (if the dry out keeps it clean). Also, you mentioned this MANY videos ago, so, you're not forgetting if you said it in this video. You didn't, it just popped back into my head again and was wondering.
another great video! can you make a video to show how you put PV kit on your e-drum with YOUR settings etc to get this sound please? I tried but I don't get the same result
You should do something over the Vola solo competition backing track. The backing track seems like something you’d make and I feel like you’d be great at it.
Never has a series made me feel so bad about my own songs while also inspiring me to write more. You're insane man.
hahaha right
Absolutely Nailed what we all feel 🤌🙏
That guitar arpeggio with the delay giving me the contortionist vibes
Tbf it is pretty much the intro to language
FACTS. He's speaking our...LANGUAGE? MWAHAHAH
@@ouie-fl4qo yup, intuition was the song that came to mind
Many guitar players have used this technique but yes
oh dude i still think about shapeshifter when i hear contortionist mentioned
"logic please, im trying to vibe here"
I can't find the right words to describe how much these videos inspire me to try to write my own stuff. This is just so damn good..
Your workflow is so good! I know there is editing to crunch the time but man… these vids are always gold.
I find myself watching Nick BECAUSE of his workflow. I've picked up so many tricks in the software that I never would have learned by accident or on my own. I'll never fly around the guitar like he does, but I can, at least, fly around the computer.
These 2 sections combined in a full song will sound absolutely beautiful man, hope you'll make that happen 🤞🏻
I love dotted 8th delay. From the edge, worship music, shoot even in Periphery’s Masamune
*yes. this is way more musical and beautiful than just metal riffs all the time))*
I’d love to hear this as a full Architect Tiger release man. Great vibe and the last TRT part is just killer
This is easily my favorite work of yours on this series so far, the absolutely mad chorus section from last video into this is such a vibe! really hope you turn this into a full song someday!

As someone who tries to produce music themselves, I love watching these videos. It's a great insight into how you create songs and soundscapes but also really good inspiration as well
That Beeg Yoshi 84 synth reminds me SO MUCH of the Mass Effect 1 character creation menu music.
Well…I just cried to a thick riff Thursday. This is so beautiful man. Just beautiful. Never stop

This was a lovely little vibe. Thoroughly enjoyed. Where the fuck was the whole song playthrough, though?! 😂In all seriousness, though, would love to hear this fully strung together and given the complete song treatment with someone singing on it. 👌

Just starting to get into writing stuff like this, learning a lot from watching these 🔥🔥
Can we agree nothing that uses the 'dotted 8th note' delay is ever gonna sound cooler than Masamune? (verse lead part in Karnivool's Goliath is a contender too)
Big dayseeker vibes with the backing
Og riff sounds like skyharbor og, and the revision sounds like intervals.
What is Jake Bowen doing in TRT?? 😏
Pure vibes!
🔥as always!
Dream guest
Synth and drums reminded me of dayseeker
You delivered the goosies on this on boi ❤
7:17 not only in writing music but also in life
The beginning reminded me of like a Nintendo Wii main menu but hyped! Lol
So, about that Whammy IV.. does the dry out on the side destroy the signal too or is it just the wet out? I tried but I don't get the same result
Hey homie, you should try using Logic Remote to track drums. Having access to the transport controls from your phone can make getting takes easier 🤙🏻
You make me wanna become better.
Thick Riff Sessions Vol. 2 still isn't up 😢

You should do something over the Vola solo competition backing track. The backing track seems like something you’d make and I feel like you’d be great at it.
Kind of gives some Dayseeker vibes
I'm always here for a dotted delay, it brings yoU2 *the Edge* of the listening experience!
*sigh* I am VERY sorry.. it had to be done
