- Part three of our new tournament play through on the Good old games version of Star Wars racer. We're heading to Snowy Ando prime and the pace is starting to pick up slightly as I purchased my first few upgrades, raising the top speed, traction and cooling abilities slightly.
Beedo's wild ride is the first course to take place on Ando Prime, it is the first proper track of the game and presents a few challenges. These include slippery ice sections, various chasms and tight corners with dangerous objects littering your course. There are also several short cuts on this track, the main one opens up on lap two and allows you to veer sharply at the start line into one of the tents. This is a tricky maneuver at high speed but it is worth it as it sheds a few seconds off of your lap. Just remember to brake sharply for the tight corner at the end of this tunnel or you will die. Beedo is the favorite for this track.
Dud Bolt is a formidable Vulptereen. He drove the Vulptereen 327 which is another one of my favorites (I admit I have a few) It's a pretty decent racer in the game, just remember to brake for tight corners as turning isn't it's greatest quality. A little bit of trivia, Dud bolt took on a little work on the side, acting as Sebulbas body guard. The devious Dug would pay Bolt a bonus for every other pod racer that he could eliminate from the race, a further bonus if the driver didn't survive. As such, many bets were placed on Dud Bolt, not necessarily on him winning, but more so on how many other racers he might take out along the way....
If you're wondering why Beedo's pod is visible on the selection screen before I even won it. That's because the intro part I recorded messed up. I had to go back and record it again after the race. That's why race 4 is unlocked at the start also. Happy racing all!
Why is the ice slippery to a hovercraft?
I have no idea 😂 But it does certainly make things more interesting. I guess that's why.
