- GM Cadillac 4-Note Horns (A,C,D,F - with individual sounds)
I know there are a million vids on UA-cam about these horns, but I was having trouble finding a video that had the sound of each of the horns individually as well as in a group- that's why I made this video.
Video has:
All 4 horns together (A,C,D,F) with the Quad Tone Sound.
Each Note (A,C,D,F) played individually.
Two horns together in the Dual Tone Sound (A,F).
....and for the sadists out there, the C&D notes together.
THANK YOU so much. Random people will be searching and watching this video for decades.
Everyone must note. The Fleetwood had 4 horns with the different notes. Was for the alarm. My 86 Fleetwood 2dr had this option.
Thats interesting! Now most newer cars will usually play two note horns. Usually its G# (Lo note)B4 (Hi note) sounded together OR you have G4 (Lo note) /B4 (Hi note) notes (slightly lower in tone) and most fords and select GM cars will have a G# (Lo note) /C4 (Hi note) sounded together. Some european car manufacturers have a A4 (Lo note) and again a C4 (Hi note) sounded together. If you look up most Fiamm AM80S horns, on the Hi note horn there will be a letter designation as to which note plays for the Hi note horn. Low note horn usually wont have anything stamped to it but this is from some research ive done at a local salvage yard. Pretty neat!
Thanks for the video. Only place found that helped hear them individualy. 👍
Thanks for the video! Installing Cadillac horns on my Jeep and needed this to see which 2 I needed to add..the Jeep comes with, it appears, F and A already. Sounds good now!
thanks man i think the only video where u can hear the different notes.
Thanks for making this video.
Also the horns demonstrated in this video are 80s/90s Delco remy horns found on many GM cars. Ford i believe started with the 1st use of the Fiamm AM80 snail style horns before they were done away in late 2003/early 2004 on most GM/Ford cars. Mid year 2004 For GM and actually ford had the esrly versions of the Fiamm AM80S as early as 2000-01' onward.
Nice. That D Note may need the tuning screw turned about 1/8 of an inch to the left and if it rains it might fill up full of water.
The D needs its throat cleared 😂 but there is a screw on there that tunes the diaphragm. Sometimes you can back that out and sound it, then turn it back in and it will be fine for a while. Many GM trucks used D and F, as well as some of the full size cars. Many used F and A, even some Cadillacs without the train horn option. Corvettes used A and C. As you said, only Cadillac and Roadmaster used all four. C is the hardest note to get as it was only a Corvette or Cadillac/Roadmaster thing. They let you know too with the pricing 😂
Spot on!! That C is a booger to find compared to the others. ...as long as the pick a part doesn't know or care what note it is, then you are golden- as long as you can find one.
This D is straight now. It was out of whack when I made the video. The van now has 2 sets of 4 horns as well as 2 Wolo Brand compact air horns. I added 2 more low note GM horns... so there's a total of 12 horns that go when press the horn button. Not the loudest, but it has a nice "full" sound. haha
Woo wee
Thanks for the video
I like all sounds even that classic bellower
awesome, ive always wondered. ;)
Great breakdown!
C 2:41
A 2:31
F 3:12
D 2:49
My Kenworth also has 4 air horns that don't work. Insted they squeal.
I wonder if they have this same tuning?
This in music is a D minor 7
chord. 7 being the C note
I realize this is an old video, but for people watching in the future, these are not Klaxon horns. Klaxon is is the name of the most famous maker of the horns commonly referred to as aahooga horns. Completely different animal.
My horns in my 1975 Buick LeSabre convertible sound sick. Is there a way to tune them?
I bought a 4-horn set of Cadillac horns on Ebay and installed on my 2005 Astro. They are beautiful and loud. My Astro originally had only one horn. Pathetic.
Replace the A and F with newer styles GM horns from the junkyard. You can still buy the A F D horns new but not the C... but I’m sure with a little research you can find another auto manufacturer with a C note horn..
What’s the part number for the D note?
Is that a high note F or a low note F?
No clue. LOL. It is the horn marked F by GM.... I don't know much more than that honestly.
Oh wow! So its not just one horn making all that sound? So I'm not gonna go out and buy the 13 buck Cadillac horn at car parts and put one on my Kenworth T800 and expect to get the glorious sound of an 85 Elderado Cadillac? I need 4 different tone horns to get that GM horn sound like an 85 Cadillac has. Gee! This could get expensive. 🤔🤨😐😑
That is correct sir! 😂
@@puhleez420 My GMC Suburban has good sounding horns so I ordered two from rock auto for 6 bucks a piece. I got the Freeway blasters which are 130 db as opposed to stock 125 db.
They sound good but not what I expected.
I got an F and an E so its sort of dissonant sounding being only a semi tone apart. They are good and loud though. I was expecting an F and an A.
I really want this sound its just like your 4 all together but its good and loud driving down the road.

Like what a Buick Roadmaster has

Flip flops son! haha
These are not the Cadillac sound!
Same sound as mine and I took them off a 89 Caddy.

I think the horns are wrecked
Camera Phone Microphone sir- not some super HD stuff going on here.
you could have saved everyone a headache by bench testing the horns....
Now I'm dizzy
I suppose. ;) Make one and post it up- I will watch it.
