I went into this thinking it was just going to be some "ok" Spider-man cartoon.... Holy *$&% was I so wrong. I loved this - it has a feel of an old school comic with the animation - it's like you're watching a comic instead of reading it. It was just so unique, and I couldn't stop laughing - it kept the comedy rolling while working right into the plot. [Play dumb!] "Who's Morales?" [Not THAT dumb!] Love it - so simple and so amazing! Thanks for sharing it with us!
To address some of your questions: Yes, that was Stan Lee. He had already recorded several of his other cameos that came out after this with Avengers Endgame being his last appearance. But this hit harder because the movie released just a few weeks after he died and the context of his cameo was too coincidental. A lot of teary eyed individuals in the theater when he came on screen. Kingpin has been a popular villain from the Spider-Man comics. His popularity surged with the Daredevil series on Netflix. He's a crime lord (literally Kingpin) that "owns" most of New York. He's brutal, crazy strong, and a beast of a man, though his design was exaggerated in this movie for artistic effect. Frankenstein('s monster) looking guy is Tombstone. Another popular Spider-Man villain. Ned in the MCU was based off of Miles' best friend Ganke from the comics. That's why he looks like him. Miles has been a popular character since he debuted in the Ultimate Comics universe in 2011. He has been referenced in Spider-Man Homecoming (Aaron Davis, Miles uncle is Donald Glover's character in that movie. He says he has a nephew in the city when talking to Tom Holland in the parking garage). Miles has also been in other animated TV series and video games since. Most recently, he was a main character in PlayStation's major PS5 exclusive Spider-Man 2. The end credits scene was based off the old Spider-Man cartoon from 1967. There is an episode where Spider-Man encounters an imposter and they both point at each other. This clip was turned into an internet meme. The movie just decided to have a little fun with that meme at the end credits. Peter Porker is not a Looney Tunes character though he was inspired by them. He's a Marvel character through and through. Bonus: Sony Animation had to invent multiple new technologies to animate this movie and it has been credited with revolutionizing the animation industry ever since.
One of the coolest things I discovered (credit: VFX Artists React) is that when Miles and Loser Spider-Man steal the computer from the lab, Loser Spider-Man is animated and presented at a higher framerate than Miles, which makes him look much more fluid and graceful while Miles is animated at a lower framerate and thus looks clunky and aloof in his movements.
Actually, Miles wasn't popular at all with comic readers. Brian Michael Bendis didn't really do the best job with differentiating him from Peter, making him pretty bland. It wasn't until the first Spiderverse film came out in 2018 that people started liking him & his popularity skyrocketed. The film writers gave him more charm & individuality, making Miles likable for audiences (though the comics still kinda struggle with that).
@@MarzOnline92 I don't think that's fair to say. Part of the initial issue with him was him debuting in the Ultimate universe after the death of Peter Parker. Lotta people stopped reading then, myself included. All of the Ultimate runs suffered, which was why it was abandoned and they folded things into the main continuity. He's been successful enough to sustain his own book for the most part, so people did like the character. There's no denying his popularity skyrocketed after this movie but, so did Iron Man and Captain America and Thor after their movies. To say he wasn't popular AT ALL with readers before isn't the truth.
This will help you a bit with the multiverse for the Spider people. A K.A. The Spiderverse. BTW this is Miles universe. Not Toby's. So that's why Peter here is blonde. And Peter B Parker is also from his own universe.
Yeah, this movie blew me away. You can tell the people working on this really love the characters and the stories that inspire them. It’s such a beautifully woven film.
When I watched this in theaters I INSTANTLY fell in love with Myles and this animation style. Myles is my favorite Spiderman now! So glad yall loved it!
Really? I’m glad you like it, and please don’t take this as me trying to be edgy, because I know a lot of people love this film. And I know the artists are all talented, and I’m not trying to hate. But, I can’t sit through this film. And it’s because of this animation. It feels like it’s far too slow. My adhd can’t take it and I start to fidget, my mind wanders and gets frustrated, and I just check out. That, and I’ve never been a fan of alternate characters. Again, I know lots of people love em, and bless them for it. I’m not trying to crap on anyone else’s joy. But for me, the character needs to be the same. My brain can handle an actor of any color or race playing Spider Man, and I have zero issue with it. But he still better be playing “Peter Parker,” because that’s what my brain sees as Spider Man.
@@butkusfan23How are you gonna expect someone who isn’t Peter to play Peter? Genuine question since I don’t get how Miles is supposed to act like someone he doesn’t know that well (at least, in the movie).
Hey guys, I'm glad you watched this one. "Spider-pig" is not a really a Looney Tunes character but based on a long-running Parody comic called "Peter Porker: The Spectacular Spider-Ham" from the 1980's. He is from a Marvel universe where everyone is an anthropomorphized animal.
There are so many Easter eggs and references in this movie that most people wouldn't get unless you're an avid comics fan. It's truly a labor of love. One morbidly funny/dark humor reference in his intro clip is him eating a hot dog. But he's a pig! That's cannibalism! Wrong for two reasons. He's really a spider (he got bitten by pig). And he lives in a world where humans are the animals/pets. So, he's actually eating a human hotdog. 😅
Not that it'll spoil no way home or anything but I think they should watch NWH first before they watch across the spiderverse. Just that way when there's little nods toward it they can enjoy that bit if they catch it.
All of the Spider-people in this film (yes, even Spider-Ham) are actual Marvel comics characters. A lot of Miles' universe is based on the Ultimate Marvel line (especially the Green Goblin). The character you kept referring to as 'Frankenstein' is actually called Tombstone. And your boy Cotton Weary (Liv Schriber) voiced Kingpin. Wilson Fisk (The Kingpin) is one of the Marvel universe's biggest (pun intended) adversaries. He is basically the gangster who runs New York City behind the scenes. He was introduced in the MCU in the Netflix streaming series Daredevil (portrayed by Vincent D'onofrio) and has recently been re-introduced in some of the more recent Disney+ streaming series as the new ongoing 'street-level' antagonist. You will run into him again soon enough on your MCU journey.
yeah kingpin is interesting as there is no reason he can't be taken down. he's strong but nothing the avengers couldn't handle. the problem is if you take him out the resulting power vacuum would destroy new york at the very least
Kingpin's main power is his influence in the criminal underworld of New York. He's got corrupt cops and judges and politicians in his pocket. He's essentially the biggest mafia don. Let's see... we saw versions of the Green Goblin, Prowler, Tombstone, Scorpion, Doctor Octopus, and I think there was even a shot of Hammerhead in there somewhere. All established Spiderman villains from the comics. Note also that Spider-ham was a spider who was bitten by a radioactive pig.
In case nobody has said this already, they did low key introduce Miles' uncle in the MCU in Spideman Homecoming. He was the guy buying the weapons towards the first part of the movie and then again when Spiderman webs his hand to the trunk of his car in order to interrogate him. The actor was Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) and when the character is asked why he was helping Spiderman he said that he didn't want those weapons on the streets because he had a nephew out there.
Unfortunately there was some backlash from some fans when Miles debuted in the comics (and beyond.) Some of it was due to only wanting Peter Parker to be Spidey and some was racism. But that's why the major theme of this film was about how "anyone can wear the mask."
Bro, most of it was because the comics were bad. I fucking hated the Miles comics back in the day. Then I saw Spider-Verse and I loved it and I loved Miles. Then I went back and read the Miles comics again and guess what, they're still hot garbage. I hear Miles' comics are better now since he came to 616 but the Ultimate Miles comics were actually awful.
@the_real_blerd2357 I *firmly* believe that there wouldn't have been anywhere near as much hate for Miles if the comics had been good. Those two groups you mentioned existed of course; some people were going to miss Ultimate Peter (although the quality of his comics had been kind of slipping and Death of Spider-Man was the smartest thing they could have done at that point) but it wasn't like Miles was replacing Peter anywhere other than the Ultimate line, you still had several books dedicated *just* to 616 Peter as well as films, TV shows and video games with some version of Peter in them. And racists will always exist unfortunately. But on the whole I think these groups were a small part of the haters, most people hated Miles because his comics sucked. The proof is in the pudding really. Fucking everyone loves the Spider-Verse movies and that version of Miles because the movies are good and he's well written. Everything that was wrong with the comics was fixed. Miles has a personality now instead of being like a younger version of Tobey's Peter, Aaron Davis isn't a humongous piece of shit trying to exploit his nephew's abilities for personal gain, Jefferson Morales isn't some over complicated undercover SHIELD agent and he even took his wife's family name (presumably because it's just weird for a black man to be named Jeffersob Davis), Rio Morales wasn't killed off for shock value, Peter B is a much better mentor than Jessica (who was criminally underused and subsequently misused after the Clone saga), Miles gets to design his suit instead of just being handed the red and black suit by Nick Fury, he doesn't have to struggle to find his footing in the fallout of Ultimates vs. Avengers, May and Gwen don't move back to the USA after leaving for a new life in France, I could go on for hours.
12:42 There is. A girl name Cindy Moon got bit right after Peter and the Spider died. But Cindy got the natural webbing unlike Peter that needs to make his own web-shooters.
I FREAKING LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I thought it looked good, but I wasn't as hyped as everyone else was tbh. After I saw the movie however, it blew my expectations out of the water. It's awesome, funny, sad, and the animation is so slick and refreshing thar it's amazing. It gives me urban art house comic book vibes.
1:08:48 Peter Porker A.K.A. The SpiderHam is not a pig. He is a Spider that got bitten by his pig aunt and became the SpiderHam, along side IronMouse and Cat-tain America saving the world. And yes they're one of the many Spider person throughout the Spiderverse. There's even a female version of Peter call Petra, there also the Japan emissary of hell Supaida-Man with his Leopardon Mega Zords, the Spider-Man that control his own universe etc²... P.S. Peni Parker the girl with the robot Sp//dr is from the Anime Neon Genesis Evangeleon universe.
As for why they have so many different spideys, its just comics. Every single spider-man variant in this movie and all the main ones of the next movie too all come from the comics. The multiverse is not just a movie thing, it was originally a comics thing. And also, all the little comic covers they showed everytime a new spidey showed up is the actual first comic each of these characters were introduced, so yeah, even more attention to detail that we appreciate and love to bits. (Same goes for Gwen dying in Amazing Spider-Man. The directors didn't do it to mess with the fans they did it bcs that's just how it goes in the comics so they wanted to stay loyal to that.)
Miles Morales (Earth-1610) Miles universe is actually based on the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610) from the comics, created as a re-imagined and modernized versions of the Marvel superhero's from the main Prime Universe (Earth-616) with both large and small changes starting with Ultimate Spider-Man in the year 2000. Miles was then introduced in 2011 and would later take up the mantle of Spider-Man after the death of a 16 year old Peter Parker. As this was a whole new universe it allowed Marvel to clearly rework many of it's characters. For example Norman became the Ultimate Goblin this massive Hulking monster that looks like the Hulk mixed with the a demon. This is where his design in this film comes from with the difference being his design is like a mix of both versions having a more classic Goblin look with face that looks like the classic Goblin mask, wears a purple hat etc. Combined with being a massive monster. Peter dying is also pulled from the comics when the Green Goblin lead an attack on Aunt Mays house with a bunch of his villains came together to kill Peters friends and family. For the film they used Kingpin instead, differant setting and the biggest change being a 26 year old Peter dying instead of a young 16 year old. Ultimate Spider-Man also had brown curtains as his iconic haircut while for this film he has blonde hair. This Peter also has alot of nods to Toby's Spider-Man films. Another difference with Miles universe from the comics is how everything seems off compared to our own reality. For example the NYPD is called the PDNY (Police Department of New York?) in Miles universe, there's parallel versions of real life adverts, movies, car brands and even events and people. Earth-1610 in the comics was made to be more grounded in our reality so everything for the most part was the same as our reality such as movies, brands, pop culture etc. Just with fictional Marvel stuff thrown in like buildings, companies, characters etc. Also Miles origin in the comics had nothing to do with the Spider-Verse. Miles was bitten around a month before the death of Spider-Man. Miles then took up the mantle of Spider-Man, he didn't really know Peter. much before his death. Miles would meet the older Mainline Continuity Spider-Man from Earth-616 when he was transported to the Ultimate Universe. Miles would later take part in the Spider-Verse comics and then in 2015 the Ultimate Universe was destroyed with Miles being one of the two survivors where he now lives on Earth-616 the Mainline Continuity alongside the Spider-Man we've known since the 1960s. Peter B Parker (Earth-616) Peter B Parker the Spider-Man who was sucked into Miles universe is from Earth-616. 616 from the comics is Marvel's Mainline Continuity so Peter B Parker (Actually Peter's full name) isthe closest Spider-Man to the mainline comics in this film beyond being Jewish this being the only real big change. I can't recall how old Peter is in the comics, Mid to Late 20s at best but this film pretty much just shows us a Spider-Man that's down on his luck. His villians would also be closer to what you both know from the films for example a Green Goblin in a suit and mask, and a Male Doc Ock. Gwen's universe as well seems to have a Male Doc Ock as well, can see her being attacked by him before being sucked into Miles universe. Not a spoiler but Earth-616 Spider-Man was retconned to be from Earth-616B so that he doesn't overlap with the comics. Miles universe as well was retconned to be Earth-1610B so that this movie doesn't overlap with the Ultimate Universe from the comics. Miles origin in this film is pretty differant to his comic version so it wouldn't make since for these to be the same universe.
Forgot to mention but Otto does exist in the Ultimate Universe as the Doc Ock and this version was actually what inspired the Tobey Maguire version. For Spider-Verse we know that Peter was active as Spider-Man for 10 years so maybe there was an Otto Doc Ock. Or maybe Olivia is just Doc Ock in this universe and Otto never had his accident. Regardless this is very differant to the Ultimate Comics but really cool take on the character.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was released in May of 2014 Spider-Gwen was first appeared in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 September 2014. also tip when talking about Spider-Gwen do not treat her like 616 (main comic Marvel universe) based Gwen because outside of connected characters she is not the same character like at all.
spider-verse rule of thumb: if peter is spider-man, gwen is dead. or a clone yeah that happens sometimes too. if gwen is alive most of the times peter died instead. also Gwenpool not a Stacy!
I saw this in the cinema the weekend it came out and I honestly counted the days till part 2 came out.... Now, thanks to y'all... Im counting the days till you react to part 2, the hype is real!!!
I love how Miles moves every other frame (12 times per second). Looks a bit janky, but that's what he is going through with learning his powers and so on. And when he becomes Spider-Man near the end, the animation changes every frame. He became smooth when he put on his suit and took a leap of faith
About the L00ny T00ns Spider-Man. Back in the Eighties, the folks at Marvel were publishing comics for little kids, or as they called the "Beginning Readers". They called this comics imprint Star Comics, they featured titles like Heathcliff, the Ewoks, the Muppets, and Thundercats. The most popular of all the Star Comics was called Peter Porker: the Spectacular Spider-Ham. This was a Loony Toons inspired parody of the regular Marvel Spider-Man comics. The Peter Porker comics were a best seller. After Marvel cancelled Star Comics due to poor sales, Marvel started publishing the Peter Porker comics, because they were still selling. They kept publishing for 2-3 years. The secret was that book was pretty funny, and even though it was written for ages 5-7, older comics fans thought it was funny enough to keep reading it. And that's where you got the loony toons Spider-Man from.
Oh so glad you guys watched this one... it's such a fun movie. It's so so awesome. Even the sequel to this one doesn't disappoint... in some ways the sequel is even better (I know how not possible that sounds) You asked about the little Looney Tunes guy - that's Spider-Ham and he has his own comic (not sure if it's still being published, but he definitely had his own series going in Marvel comics) - I don't think he's specifically a Looney Tunes character, though, maybe his creators were inspired by that universe? Spider Gwen definitely has her own comic book series too... she's been around a little while now. Also, Uncle Aaron has already shown up in Tom Holland's Spiderman - he was the guy trying to buy guns - he was portrayed by Donald Glover. I'm fairly fairly sure he's not The Prowler yet in MCU, though. I think he would have shown up by now if he was. I really really hope that means we get Miles Morales in MCU as well at some stage. That would be totally cool. :) But yeh super super stoked you saw this one, and yeh the sequel is so amazing too. :)
They came up with a whole bunch of cartoon animal versions of the Marvel characters, like the Fantastic Fur, Captain Americat, Deerdevil, Ducktor Doom, etc. They were never affiliated with Looney Tunes or Warner Bros.
For me the Leap of Faith scene is my favorite scene in any comic book movie ever and that includes live action and animation. Thor's entrance into Wakanda a close second
So, the story in Amazing Spider-Man 2, with Gwen dying happened in the comics - the deaths of Gwen and her dad are major events in Peter Parker's history in the comics, because they're people that he failed to save. Spider-Gwen is specifically an alternate version of Gwen from another universe where she becomes the "Spider-Man" of her world, introduced in the "Spider-Verse" comics... and lots of other characters are in different roles, and the Peter Parker of her world died in a parallel to her death in the main comics. Typically speaking, the spider that gives the hero their powers dies after the bite... but in the main comics, a girl named Cindy Moon was also bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker... and eventually became the hero known as Silk. She's not been adapted to other media as often.
Peter B Parker was older than the Spiderman who died he was doing the gig for 20 years, and it was more than the divorce. He was honestly really tired and wore out the Spiderman that died was still very young haven't dealt with a lot yet aside from Uncle Ben dying
The spidermen at the end pointing is one of THE most famous memes there is. Just now on twitter I saw it used for the Packers qb Jordan love and Texans CJ Stroud because they had almost the exact same stats this weekend
So, Marvel's live-action Spiderman, took a lot of inspiration from the Miles Morales comics. That's why his roommate looks like Ned. Ned was based on Ganke from the comics (Miles Roomate)
The guy who you think looks like Frankenstein, his name is Tombstone. I didn't know who he was at first when I saw this movie because I didn't know what he looked like in the comics, I only know him from the game that came out in 2018 but he doesn't look like that in the game.
-Miles is in the MCU. You saw his Uncle in "Homecoming". He was played by Donald Glover, the one who was trying to buy a weapon from The Vultures crew, also webbed to his trunk by Spider-Man and had ice cream in the trunk. -45:43 His name is Tombstone.... -Actually there are more than 3 Spider-Men and/or women out there.... -All of these characters are CANON. They EXIST in Marvel, they have their own comics. Peter Porker/Spider-Ham has been around for DECADES. As a mater of fact, there is a WHOLE universe of anamorphic characters out there in Marvel. Ones for just about every super-hero Marvel has.
Miles Morales is a very important, meaningful character. There's a lot going on in his story, a lot of important messages are told in between the lines. My favorite spider-man for sure, but I'm latino, so I guess I'm a little biased lol.
Before you watch ATSV, you should watch some Spiderman animated shows. I personally would recommend Spectacular at the very least since it's relatively short.
With this being such a fresh watch, I highly suggest watching Across the Spider-Verse so you won't have to remember about certain aspects of this movie. I was so impressed by both and couldn't believe how good they were. A great introduction to a great Spider-Man.
No one seems to notice this but when Doc Oc busts into Aunt May's house, she calls her "Liv", implying that Doc Oc and Aunt May know each other from before and were friendly to some extent.
Gwen's Peter accidentally turned himself into The Lizard due to wanting powers since Gwen had them. The Lizard/Peter is the dead. Gwen laughed at the, "Perhaps you're just early," because she was literally early herself. The thing about Olivia is that she knows that Vanessa and Richard would disintegrate and she gave no fucks even in the face of Kingpin. Also: Olivia: My friends call me Liv. Later Aunt May: Oh great, it's Liv. Spiderman Noir: That's a hardcore origin story. Mind you that his origin story had The Vulture literally cannibalising his Uncle Benjamin. The same building he swings up at while shouting WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO is the same building he fell down from while shouting ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. The woman at the collider test talking about how many dimensions it has linked to is Olivia.
Some facts for you: 1. The co-student of Miles actually is Ned, 'cause Ned comes from the Miles-Comics, they combined him for the Tom Holland Movies with the Peter Parker Storyline. 2. The guy in Homecoming who got glued to his car is Uncle Aaron, his nephew he talked about is Miles. So Miles is already in the MCU. 3. The grey goon is "Tombstone", a tough goon, always working for some bigger criminal. 4. WIlson Fisk/The Kingpin is mostly an enemy of Daredevil and appeared in the Netflix-series around Daredevil. Bonus fact: The "Frankenstein" you are thinking of isn't Frankenstein, it is Frankenstein's monster, a creature created by someone called Dr. Frankenstein. Since i am german i always am annoyed, that people calls the creature by the name of the doctor! 🤣
Also Kingpin was originally a Spider-man villain but Daredevil needed more stories to fill so in the 80's I believe they started having him be a villain in more of Daredevil's comics but Kingpin is always a Spider-man villain too, an OG Spider-man villain.
@@daytonboneIt worked out pretty well, since Kingpin is based in midtown NYC & Daredevil is based in Hell’s Kitchen, which basically borders midtown. It seems fitting that they’d run into each other from time to time.
The co-student of miles in this movie and the comics isn’t Ned. His name is Ganke Lee and is the best friend of Miles. Also Ned’s appearance in the Tom holland movies is inspired by Ganke but they are not the same, they are two completely different characters. Also Ned in the original comics bullied Peter as well and looked completely different.
Into The Spider-Verse is the best superhero movie ever, sequel is second best superhero movie ever. Youre in for a ride. We fans worldwide cant wait for third and last part. This can be the best superhero trilogy and one of the best cinema trilogies ever.
About the if the spider but 2 people. It did happen. A girl on peters class trip where he gets bit that same spider but a Korean American student named Cindy moon and she becomes silk. Cindy was actually in spider man homecoming played by Tiffany Espesten. In the comics spider man rescued her from a bunker or something and they had some weird spider sense connection that forced them to hook up when they were near each other.
The #42 on the spider that bit miles was a shout out to major league baseball legend Jackie Robinson. The actor who voiced uncle aaron is the new blade and the actress who voiced gwen plays kate bishop aka the new Hawkeye on the Hawkeye Disney plus show
I like to think when Miles’ Spiderman says to swing up there and disable the machine, I think he knows it’s not right away. He knows kingpin is gonna need time to get the machine working again so he tells miles the game plan so when miles is truly ready to be spiderman, he will. Which is also why he copies a lot of the moves from the og Spiderman in the final fight
I grew up watching the 1960's animated Spider-Man and the 70's made for TV movies and let me tell ya...this one and the sequel to this was absolutely "AMAZING!" You're gonna love it!
The "Frankenstein" dude is Tombstone hes basically just a bulletproof Captain America. A lot of the characters shown in the movie have already been featured in comics including Miles who had his first appearance in 2011 and due to how insanely popular he got he already got his own videogame and two movies within 13 years of his creation. Also you guys were talking about how you'd want to know what would happen if two Spider-People existed at the same time and while it varies you'll get your answer in the next movie. It will also reveal some interesting things about Miles and his place in the universe.
right at the end where Miles says, "I got to meet my roommate, finally" and one of them said, "kinda looks like ned" did anyone else get a sharp pain? for context even though there is a Ned Leeds in comics he is nothing like the MCU Ned, because MCU Ned is actually based off Ganke Lee who is a friend, roommate and the guy in the chair for a Spider-Man but that Spider-Man is MILES MORALES! to add on just because all the live action movies are annoying: Peter Parker does not meet Gwen, MJ or even Harry until he's in college Peter had no friends in high school, the closest he had was friendly coworkers like Ned Leeds, but he was more of a romantic rival as they both wanted to date Betty Brant at the Daily Bugle
40:31 cotton weary was played by Liev Schreiber but hes not one of the spidermen the black and white spiderman was played by nicholas cage cotton is the voice of the kingpin.
1:13 “in association with Marvel” although Spider-Man is a Marvel character it’s actually owned by Sony. Marvel sold the film rights to Spider-Man in the 90s because they were facing bankruptcy. Marvel still doesn’t own the rights to Spider-Man. Tom Hollands Spider-Man only exists in the Marvel Universe because of a deal struck between Marvel Studios and Sony. Tom Holland is technically signed to Sony, not Marvel Studios. This movie is produced by Sony as well as every Spider-Man film since Tobey McGuire. Cheers 🥂❤️🎉
Theres tons of different earths and spider people guys, so just take it like that and forget the original story, all of them are kinda different. The next movie will help you understand way better. And its not tobey's spiderman, they just put some references to him haha, great reaction as always! And the Spider ham actually exists, allá the spiderman on the movie have their own comics in Marvel.
If I remember right, the prowler is usually more of a contract or self employed thief, kinda like catwoman from DC, this prowler is more of an mercenary muscles, probably because the pay is good. In the og miles comics, his uncle is also the reason miles became spider man, since the spider crawled into aaron's bag during prowler work
It's so funny to see Mr. October come up with these theories and basically be on the right path and then completely forget what his own thought process was and it's also kind of hilarious but not really to see y'all get all of the information that y'all are given and then swiftly forget it like when Mr. October was wondering what was going on with Doc Ocks tentacles not realizing that it was Miles invisible or when he got his motivational speech from his dad and the electricity sparked in his eyes, that was just funny to me because every other reactor caught onto that fairly quickly amongst a whole bunch of other things that you guys forgot or that went over y'all's head. But I still love to watch reactions from your channel because when things dawn on you both last minute it's just so wholesome the reaction you both have and I also have no room to like be a hypocrite because I haven't touched a single comic book and I'm about to be 25 I don't know the stories behind any comic book character, but if a movie looks like it might be interesting then I will watch it and if I love it, I will watch people react to it because I love to find people who enjoy what I enjoy and it's like we're going down the rabbit hole together. Also, Mrs. October calling the web shooters, watches as opposed to web shooters just gets me every time along with Mr. October calling the tentacles claws because she's an octopus they(her & OG Doc Ock) have tentacles it's in their name Doc Ock short for Octavius yes but it's a play on the fact that they've got multiple tentacles like an octopus.
Terrific movie! One of my favorite iterations of Spider-Man. One of the best animated movies I have ever seen, only to be surpassed when they made the next one.
So Miles was mentioned in the MCU. In Spider-Man: Homecoming in the scene where Peter uses the interrogation voice for the first time, the guy he webs to the car, who is played by Donald Glover, is Aaron Davis (Prowler), and he mentioned to Peter "I have a nephew who lives around here".
Miles also shows up in the Playstation Spider-Man games, he is introduced in the first one, then there is a short mini-sequel that focuses on Miles learning how to be Spider-Man, then the 2nd full game is both Peter and Miles as full time Spider-Men and you can switch between them almost any time. Miles has the coolest variant suits in the games, IMO. You also get to learn a bit more about and fight some classic Spider-Man villains like Tombstone, the Rhino, Shocker, Scorpion, Black Cat, and Electro among others.
One of my favorite interactions is agreeing Spider-Gwen is one of the coolest Fortnite skins, and then... "And Ariana Grande." "Yeah, she's cool, too." 😆😂🤣
Mario 64 straight up at the end 😂. Miles is dope. His PlayStation game is pretty fun too. I saw this 3 times in theaters. Never saw anything like it before. ✊🏽
This movie and the next one are... unbelievably powerful movies for me. The themes of self-actualization and just... learning how to push forward with confidence even when you're genuinely just making it up as you go along... are both unbelievably powerful for me. Heck, when this one came out, I was still relatively early in being a stepdad, and the second one... well, you'll see the themes present in that one when you get to it. Hopefully pretty soon!
“What would you call that?”“ “Isn’t that the space time continuum thingy” 🤣🤣 you’ve implanted those words in her head !! Always love your reactions. Like I said before with all the super hero reactions I’ve watched I just relate and for lack of better words vibe with you guys. Much love from Virginia Beach from another ATL 92’ baby!!
The Director said that the reveal that Miles is the first anomaly is a meta-commentary on what led to the creation of the first Black Spider-Man. Some fans believe that Miles doesn't deserve his power or belong in the mask.
This is a whole series make sure u watch the next 2 of em. Theres 3 of them total. This one is soo good tho such a good animation it won awards. Miles Morales is a comic too. Good comic too . Cant wait for them to do movies for him
I went into this thinking it was just going to be some "ok" Spider-man cartoon....
Holy *$&% was I so wrong. I loved this - it has a feel of an old school comic with the animation - it's like you're watching a comic instead of reading it. It was just so unique, and I couldn't stop laughing - it kept the comedy rolling while working right into the plot. [Play dumb!] "Who's Morales?" [Not THAT dumb!]
Love it - so simple and so amazing!
Thanks for sharing it with us!
To address some of your questions:
Yes, that was Stan Lee.
One of the coolest things I discovered (credit: VFX Artists React) is that when Miles and Loser Spider-Man steal the computer from the lab, Loser Spider-Man is animated and presented at a higher framerate than Miles, which makes him look much more fluid and graceful while Miles is animated at a lower framerate and thus looks clunky and aloof in his movements.
love that tidbit!
yeah and when he "levels up" near the end of the movie his FPS is increased to match the others'@@johnwolfe7596
And why Green Goblin is an actual monster and not a dude in a suit.
people actually have trouble understanding that shit?
@@blue-vr8ddYes they do and it’s astounding
Nobody mentioned this, but Kingpin is not really fat. Most of that bulk is muscle. He is tremendously strong.
Iirc he's canonically only 2% fat.
@@LiMe251 Yup, he is supposedly built like a sumo wrestler.
Yeah, this movie blew me away. You can tell the people working on this really love the characters and the stories that inspire them. It’s such a beautifully woven film.
Tell that to the animators of Across the Spiderverse that were worked to near death.
@@AstroAvengerthe same thing applies and more
Y'all remember Donald Glover's character in SM: Homecoming? The one who wanted the "low-key" gun? That's Miles's uncle in the MCU
When I watched this in theaters I INSTANTLY fell in love with Myles and this animation style. Myles is my favorite Spiderman now! So glad yall loved it!
Same for me I fell in love with it when I seen it in theaters and miles is my second favorite Spider-Man
But he still better be playing “Peter Parker,” because that’s what my brain sees as Spider Man.
why do you spell miles like that? you did it twice so it can’t be a mistake
Oh yeah totes a mistake. Oopsie.@@casss8605
Its the rare occasion where the sequel is just as good or even better than the original. Can't wait for the second movie reaction 😁
The sequel is definitely better yeah. Both movies are amazing though
If Beyond the Spider-verse sticks the landing, it will be by far my favorite movie trilogy ever. Currently it's How to Train Your Dragon.
@@Onaterdem Mine is The Lord of the Rings, but this trilogy has the potential to give it serious competition.
Now roll right into Across the Spider-Verse. A sequel that actually lives up to the original
Not that it'll spoil no way home or anything but I think they should watch NWH first before they watch across the spiderverse. Just that way when there's little nods toward it they can enjoy that bit if they catch it.
"why did I agree to do this stupid song I have a degree in chemical engineering" LMFAOOO
What is the spot that sang that?
I was wondering if that guy was Tomstone, he just seemed a little different than he does in the more recent stuff I've seen
But that's why the major theme of this film was about how "anyone can wear the mask."
love that quote, he's a great spider-man we love him!
@@BobTheismThat may be why YOU didn't like him (and you're entitled to your opinion) but that's not what I'm talking about.
@@BobTheism The quality would not have stopped the racism. Use your brain.
Miles Morales Suit is one of my FAVORITE Spider suits his and Miguel's

“The bagel hits that guy in the head”
*Thats a surprise tool that will help us later*
That bagel really hit the spot, didn’t it?
Miles Morales (Earth-1610)
Miles universe is actually based on the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610) from the comics, created as a re-imagined and modernized versions of the Marvel superhero's from the main Prime Universe (Earth-616) with both large and small changes starting with Ultimate Spider-Man in the year 2000.
Peter B Parker (Earth-616)
Peter B Parker the Spider-Man who was sucked into Miles universe is from Earth-616. 616 from the comics is Marvel's Mainline Continuity so Peter B Parker (Actually Peter's full name) isthe closest Spider-Man to the mainline comics in this film beyond being Jewish this being the only real big change.
Cotton Weary actually voices Kingpin. The black-and-white Spider-Man is voiced by Nicholas Cage and Spider-Ham is voiced by John Mulaney.
Miles is the epitome of what it means to be spiderman. Cant wait for you guys to see the next one.
33:24 Yeah, we definitely won't be seeing that bagel guy again Hahaha
Even the sequel to this one doesn't disappoint... in some ways the sequel is even better (I know how not possible that sounds)
You asked about the little Looney Tunes guy - that's Spider-Ham and he has his own comic (not sure if it's still being published, but he definitely had his own series going in Marvel comics) - I don't think he's specifically a Looney Tunes character, though, maybe his creators were inspired by that universe?
Spider Gwen definitely has her own comic book series too... she's been around a little while now.
Also, Uncle Aaron has already shown up in Tom Holland's Spiderman - he was the guy trying to buy guns - he was portrayed by Donald Glover. I'm fairly fairly sure he's not The Prowler yet in MCU, though. I think he would have shown up by now if he was.
I really really hope that means we get Miles Morales in MCU as well at some stage. That would be totally cool. :)
But yeh super super stoked you saw this one, and yeh the sequel is so amazing too. :)
What about Insomniac's Spider-Man universe miles morales?
i thought he was first introduces in a collaberaion between looney toons and marvel that was done for charity
They came up with a whole bunch of cartoon animal versions of the Marvel characters, like the Fantastic Fur, Captain Americat, Deerdevil, Ducktor Doom, etc. They were never affiliated with Looney Tunes or Warner Bros.
@@johnpaullogan1365 sorry I haven't looked into it - unsure
@@aadilshekhi6049 sorry, what are you refering to, specifically?

Some facts for you:

I like to think when Miles’ Spiderman says to swing up there and disable the machine, I think he knows it’s not right away. He knows kingpin is gonna need time to get the machine working again so he tells miles the game plan so when miles is truly ready to be spiderman, he will.
It's funny you compared Jefferson to the cloudy with a chance of meatballs cop because the same team.worked on both.
right at the end where Miles says, "I got to meet my roommate, finally" and one of them said, "kinda looks like ned" did anyone else get a sharp pain?
for context even though there is a Ned Leeds in comics he is nothing like the MCU Ned, because MCU Ned is actually based off Ganke Lee who is a friend, roommate and the guy in the chair for a Spider-Man but that Spider-Man is MILES MORALES!
to add on just because all the live action movies are annoying: Peter Parker does not meet Gwen, MJ or even Harry until he's in college Peter had no friends in high school, the closest he had was friendly coworkers like Ned Leeds, but he was more of a romantic rival as they both wanted to date Betty Brant at the Daily Bugle
40:31 cotton weary was played by Liev Schreiber but hes not one of the spidermen the black and white spiderman was played by nicholas cage cotton is the voice of the kingpin.
Thank you both for this video. It really made me laugh!
glad to crack a smile outta you!
My week is always made when you guys upload a video ! Love from Melbourne, Australia !
Oscar winning for a reason. My favorite animated movie
9:06 "prowl the dark nights".
Prophetic!!
In the og miles comics, his uncle is also the reason miles became spider man, since the spider crawled into aaron's bag during prowler work
Now he is more of an antihero
Can’t wait to watch this after this long ass day of work I have today. Definitely rolling a big one for this
The Spider-Verse movies were easily VERY WELL MADE love letters to Spider-Man.
“And the bagel hits that guy in the head”
I’m surprised this is the first reaction of this movie I’ve seen where someone points THAT crucial detail😎
lol not sure why but we will find out
@@TheOctobersReact you sure will😉👍🏾
Love how y’all always sneak a mma/ufc reference in everything 😂
haha omg i didnt even realize it this time!
Hey Mr and Mrs October. Cotton Weary actually was Kingpin😂 not Spiderman Noir. Spiderman Noir was actually Nicholas Cage😂
yeah we were a$$ backwards lol
Absolutely loved this reaction. Can't wait for you to watch Across the Spider-verse
Nobody takes spot seriously until it’s too late. He has hurt Spider-Man so much
Miles also shows up in the Playstation Spider-Man games, he is introduced in the first one, then there is a short mini-sequel that focuses on Miles learning how to be Spider-Man, then the 2nd full game is both Peter and Miles as full time Spider-Men and you can switch between them almost any time.
"And Ariana Grande."
"Yeah, she's cool, too."
😆😂🤣
wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mario 64 straight up at the end 😂. Miles is dope. His PlayStation game is pretty fun too. I saw this 3 times in theaters. Never saw anything like it before. ✊🏽
That's not Frankenstein. His name is Tombstone.
Along with him, the other new villains are Scorpion, Prowler and obviously, Kingpin.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was in my 2nd bottom of all spiderman movies but I'm still glad you liked it.
Sick as hell and binged like every video you guys have today my favorite reactors already 😂 need that deadpool 2 when you get the time !!!
"What if the spider but two people"
That gives you a completely different spider person named Silk
Spider-Ham/Peter Porker first appeared in a one-off Comic Book in 1983. It was called Marvel Tails Starring Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham.
It's time to watch Daredevil, at least season 1. I think xmen can wait.
“What would you call that?”“
“Isn’t that the space time continuum thingy”
🤣🤣 you’ve implanted those words in her head !!
Always love your reactions. Like I said before with all the super hero reactions I’ve watched I just relate and for lack of better words vibe with you guys. Much love from Virginia Beach from another ATL 92’ baby!!
righhhhtttt he has me brainwashed over here lol :)
That was great guys! We need you to see the next one, Across the Spiderverse!!! Let's go 😊!!
The Director said that the reveal that Miles is the first anomaly is a meta-commentary on what led to the creation of the first Black Spider-Man. Some fans believe that Miles doesn't deserve his power or belong in the mask.
21:17 hahahh I was laughing with you guys
Let's goooo guys. This film blew me away when I first saw it.
50:23 nobody gonna ask that they twhip away under the clouds?
This is a whole series make sure u watch the next 2 of em. Theres 3 of them total. This one is soo good tho such a good animation it won awards. Miles Morales is a comic too. Good comic too . Cant wait for them to do movies for him
20:46 i was literally hitting a blunt at that moment and i was trying not to cough.
Turns out that was the most important bagel in all of time & space.
Patiently waiting for a reaction to the sequel
