Just saw this, but I’d definitely try to make a recording of me on something like my soprano sax… even if I’m a 22-year-old in college now, and I have to deal with the fact that Xmas music’s never played there, and concert band only happens in spring semesters anyways. :/ But hey, I’d be happy to see what other people would make. Plus, I hope to hear more energetic trumpet whinnies, rather than plaintive, complaining whinnies. XD
wasn't sure what to expect....but it was pretty good!! and i love that the trumpet player ACTUALLY HOLDS THE INSTRUMENT UP instead of to the floor like 75% of them do....I'm sure your ears don't like it though!! lol

@@jayraygaming3147 be terrified. You have to learn and memorize insanely long music, if you had plans for Friday better cancel, you'll be at a football game running across the field. During the weekends you could spend about 5-9 hours polishing music before a competition. You will get insanely hard music, and high school teachers are way harsher than middle school, if you're in a lesson, they will not settle for just knowing how to play it, you better know how to play it correctly with correct articulation and dynamics after the first or second month of having said music. Wanna know how you'll spend your summers that used to be fun? Running around, dehydrated, with an instrument. Buuuuut all bads aside high school band is an amazing experience, you get to go to all sorts of places. I believe only those who's hearts set on music or has the full dedication can make it through high school, it's a tough process. Don't let that discourage you though, I Guarantee that if you do nothing in life but blow things high school band is for you 😁😁
@@bluejay9638 I am in high school and I am going to be completely and bluntly honest, when I was I was like, yep, yep, do that, yep good bye free weekends, and honestly it all is so true but especially the competitions I always had a blast with them so JayRayGaming I hope you stay in band because it may get harder but it gets so much more fun in high school

I’m in college now and unfortunately not in any of the bands but I highly consider it. My last couple of years of high school were online because of the pandemic so I really missed out on these special moments. Even though it can be tough sometimes, I promise you won’t regret it

Couple squeaks but overall, they stayed together and had amazing articulations. The time signatures in this song are hard to get used to and I’m quite impressed

as a junior high clarinetist, i am very intimidated by the super high notes (anything higher than high c, the one with just the thumb and the register key)

As a young clarinet player I love seeing older clarinets playing so I can learn from them to get better. Since half my family are clarinets I learn from all them now I have 3 first chairs in 3 honor bands. By the way, the way yall played the high notes were amazing with no squeaks.🤯
my guilty confession for the day: I was second chair clarinet my senior year and I could barely play the beginning of first part for sleigh ride 😖 practiced so much and still couldn't hit those high notes that fast....the shame haunts me to this day
As an ex-clarinet player in high school band I am extremely impressed (and jealous!) of your intonation and articulation. My friend and I used to call this song the “Death Ride” because we couldn’t really play it until our junior year. Only clarinet players truly understand how agonizing yet beautiful this song is to play!
Sometimes it’s not all just about playing every note, but also about having fun and I could tell you were enjoying yourself here. Great job, there’s a bright future for you as a clarinetist!
That was surprisingly well played. I assume this is high school. It is more typical to hear intonation problems or articulation problems, usually both. This was a pretty darn clean performance. I myself started with clarinet (well, after piano). But then switched to bassoon which is an entirely different experience. Then to brass. French horn, and then fully to the dark side - trumpet. Strange, I know, but I had always also played around on the trumpet as sort of a hobby from the beginning even though I principally played something else. I recommend that young musicians try other instruments - they may find one that better suits them.
Maybe I'll play another instrument besides the trumpet but since I've only had 3 years of experience with the trumpet I'll most likely work more on that and then go into different instrument maybe even the alto sax
