Yeah, right. The Miami Dolphins saw their Season end weeks ago when frustrating performances became the theme.
Facts!! They remind me of my Eagles just a better defense very disappointing but we saw it coming the past 4 weeks!! But my pitiful team has beaten teams!! The fans and team said it was different but it isn't 7 points!!!
AMEN! We were at Hard Rock for Titans game- AWFUL! I saw the lakidasical childishness/immaturity of this team on that night. This Dolphins team are children . THATS THE PROBLEM. Immaturity as they all drive home in their BMWs to their million dollar cribs... GROW UP AND BEHAVE LIKE PROFESSIONALS!!!!

Tua to me looks scared every time he gets pressured. He panics and just throws the ball anywhere. He is a robot to mcDaniel system he dont hit check downs or throw the ball away. He sticks with the play call no matter what. It seems he dont have that big player instincts like Jackson Allen and MaHomes thats why those guys are elite QB's. We are stuck with him unless we can trade get someone like Justin Fields in a trade if Bears elect to move on with drafting QB then we can trade Tua for draft picks or hope he learns from all this and adjust to become an elite QB
The offense relies too much on timing. All the opposing defense has to do is disrupt tuas timing and the game plan is shot

Chiefs fan: this is because Tua can’t operate outside this structure. He can’t create a play on his own and looks like a deer in headlights when defenses break the scheme.
McDaniels also gets blame because even tho he’s a pretty good play designer, when the team gets punched in the mouth, he stands on the sideline looking dumbfounded and can’t adjust AT ALL.

I've been saying this for months now The offense is built a lot around timing and rhythm. When the defender can get their hands on the wide receiver, it disrupts the timing. And we have witness what happens when the play goes rogue. I'm very curious about Miami's cadences and how predictable it is. When the wide receiver is in motion it looks like HUT HUT GO. If That's the case it gives the defense a huge advantage. Thank goodness the season is over no more stress about the crap

I was 6 in 1966 and I was born here in Miami (and am still here) and I've been a VERY LOYAL FAN...I was 40 years old the last time we won a playoff game. This June I'll be 64. If Detroit wins today we are the team (this includes *ALL* 31 other teams) with the longest playoff drought....officially we will be *THAT* franchise if Detroit wins today. DO NOT GIVE TUA A BIG CONTRACT.....let him walk and lets take the compensation....but we also need to draft better...when will Channing Tindall and Cam Smith help this team ??????????
I am right there with you my friend. Apathy has started to set in and I have been a fan for almost 40 years (so admittedly I haven't endured AS much pain). I had hope this regime could learn from the mistakes of last year but at the end of the season we got the same bad play calling and play from our HC and QB. Injuries were a thing but good players elevate and Tua simply does not. And yes Grier has too many bust draft picks who can't get on the field so until Ross finally pulls off THAT band-aid we are stuck being "that team". It is frankly disgusting how they ended this year.
Skyler Thompson should have started. He is taller and has a much stronger arm then Tua. Thompson can move and has an high iq. Wasted game for fins.

Well i was at the game in KC this evening…huge phins fan in central Missouri…I knew before I got there what the result would be unfortunately. Crap offensive performance…just crap. Play calling was as bad as I’ve seen in a long time watching a lot of football. Tua was a disaster. Clock management was jr high level. I will give the defense credit for competing their ass off for the most part. Missing that many key players I thought they hung pretty tough and gave our offense an opportunity to at least create a competitive game. Unfortunately our offense is lead by a qb who has a noodle for an arm, has very limited mobility, is rattled after 2 seconds in the pocket, and a coach who calls plays like he’s playing madden football on the Xbox. Sorry for the long post. Love the podcast. Keep up the good work.

Herbert's play is going down year by year. . Tua has improved every year. You never want the QB who peaks early. Like Wentz and Goff. Wentz started out. Wentz went from "top 5 QB" to biggest bust. Get an oline that can block for more than 2 seconds.

@TimEbert-yq1rt again. If Tua had a roster that was equal to Bills, Ravens, or KC then the result would look very similar. Miami Oline isn't good. We have a TE room that not a single one would see snaps on another team. An issue we knew last year. Armstead Injury Prone. Had no Back Up Tackle plan. No depth outside of LBs which of course was the one position group that saw every player get injured. Don't even get me started with getting every difficult game on the road with the NFL's BS scheduling and getting Hard Knocks thrown onto us. Glad all that BS is behind us. We get a fair schedule and circumstances next year instead of being cheated to make the NFL money.

Please answer why Tua looks elite against scrub teams but looks woefully dreadful and scared when it matters? He's not just an average QB in big games, he is a horrible big game QB! You and I are twins in years of fandom and thought. I think you have to blame everyone...Grier, McDaniel, Tua and even Ross because he keeps getting sold a bill of goods. I know they won't do it but I am ready for the Harbaugh (and new GM) era. Why "run it back" when you already know what the result is because they proved it two years in a row. I really liked Coach MM but his playcalling, stubbornness to not have a REAL OC, lack of discipline and accountability, and misguided belief in a mediocre QB should be enough to move on sooner rather than later. Two "winning seasons" don't mean jack when the taste in your mouth at the end is this bad!!

They have a QB who can’t read a defense, telegraphs his throws, isn’t mobile/agile, has no idea what to do when the pocket collapses and can’t call an audible. Gee, I wonder why Miami's losing big games?? The Tua experiment in Miami needs to end !!!!!!!!!

Joe flukeo does his thing like old times and that's throwing bad interceptions! That's why he was sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring. He had 2 good years both before contract years and suckered the ravens to overpay him on 2 different contracts after those 2 good years. Now 1 of those good years he had an outstanding playoff run and was the superbowl MVP but that was a fluke and he got that receiver from Arizona that was catching everything on the field can't member his name but he was phenomenal in that playoff run and superbowl as well

I love Tua. I'm a Alabama fan as well, and I really wanted to see Tua do great things, but look at C.J Stroud, even Will Levis. What I mean is the emotion those Quarterbacks show. Talking to their receivers on the sideline. Tua doesn't do any of that. So is Tua the guy? I don't think so
He's not the guy by his play. Those intangibles mean nothing without making plays when it counts.

Reason why the Dolphins season ended goes back to when they played games against teams with winning records,it’s a combination of bad coaching from their HC Mike McDaniel and bad decision making offensively by QB Tua Tagovailoa led to the Dolphins not securing the top spot in the AFC I’m not sure if they will be able to get over the hump next year and beyond if they do not finish the season the way they started

This team is just not physical enough! I've personally seen enough of Tua and McDaniels. The time is now to land a good coach like Harbaugh. Harbaugh knows how to coach a physical brand of football! This is what is needed in the AFC East late in the season.

Fangio did a great job with all defense team but the offense stinks so bad since we lost with titans. That’s the day we lost the division . Terrible and very poor performance from Tua , McDaniel and the OC coaching staff .

I have been a Tua fan since we drafted him, but it appears he's not the QB to take us to the promise land. I don't envy the decision the organization needs to make regarding the most important position, QB. At best I have him play next year on his fifth year option.

Dolphins D was acceptable- absolutely-SURVIVED under the conditions. Dolphins OFFENSE IS HORRID AND EMBARRASSING and it begins with TUA- SORRY but it does. I can't see building a future around TUA. The defense literally wasn't in tonight, defense wasn't the problem, 16 to 7 is nothing to an " explosive offense" we simply don't have that because we have an inferior qb simple as that.
I'm a Chargers fan but if you want to talk penalties the Chiefs receivers were getting held on every single play they should have got a first down over and over again they also held on the offensive line over and over again and got away with it

I think the biggest disappointment was the running game. Achane 6 carries for 9 yards; Mostert 8 carries for 33
yards. It doesn't make sense.

This one is not on Tua. This one is on awful play calling.
Miami's play calling was bold and fresh in the beginning of the season, and became stale and timid culminating in this showing. Tua was absolutely handcuffed by it. Throwing the ball sideways behind the line of scrimmage on third down is a fool's errand.

I think where I stand is Tua is capable of putting up big numbers, but might not be able to carry the team (Rivers, Goff, etc.). McDaniel has amazing play design, but struggles with decision making on play sequence. Defense grew and was overall A+ when called upon.
This team needs EVERYTHING to align to be great and I don't know if they can do that.
Soft , fast team. To win in January you need toughness and reliability.

Some fans seem to think this is Madden football and that an elite program can be built in two years. The biggest obvious change is to have the OC call plays, play calling has become timid and dysfunctional, especially on 3rd down. Quit talking about changing the coach and the quarterback, you're living in video Madden land and barking up the wrong trees.
Before the Dallas game I said I could easily seeing them losing the next 3 games and if they make the playoffs, they'll be one and done. Anybody that didn't see this coming hasn't been paying attention. Beating up on losing teams may be exciting, but it doesn't mean squat. What can you do against winning teams is all that matters and the Dolphins had answered that question by midseason. They even sucked against Dallas and were only saved by a miracle game from Jason Sanders.

Miami went all in this year and surrounded Tua to win. It was just bad play calling and bad play by Tua he sucks under pressure and against winning teams. They scored under 20 points against all winning teams. In a big playoff game on the road the play calling was weak and didnt adjust at halftime. You cant win on the road when your star receivers waddle and Hill barley was in any plays. They should of been in all plays each time we had the ball. Run the ball keep defense honest. We were 3rd and long most the game cause we played safe with screen passes and running up the middle which didnt work. Tua never learns from his mistakes he repeats them under pressure against good teams. Will he learn ever to check down or throw a ball away. Both teams played on the same field and same weather so no excuses they are an NFL team they need to learn to win on road games

Tua and are offense havent scored over 20 points against any winning team they played this year. Only one was Dallas and they scored only 22 points barley winning. So yes you blame are offense and the offense coaches and head coach. Are defense had four bad games all year giving up 30 points or more.

Don't pay Tua, make him earn his next contract. Also, that 3rd and 20 play a blatant hold was not called as Justin Houston was being mugged. Should have been offsetting penalties. The NFL is so soft the last 5 years or so with roughing the passer calls. Dolphins players were afraid or unable to hit Mahomes when he scrambled just sad. Did we lose because of the refs no but there were a few missed calls. The Dolphins lost because the offense could not score. The defense did all it could given the hand they were dealt.
Keep Tua and nevermind the naysayers, he got this team to the playoffs 2 straight years despite having a crippled offensive line and he's being scapegoated for dysfunctional play calling down the stretch. If you bring another quarterback in to run this scheme it's going to set your program back 2 years.
Kyle your take is spot on. The dolphins need to beef up the o-line and run the ball between the tackles. No running game whatsoever in a weather game like this puts to much pressure on Tua. They need to play more physical up front. When was the last time in a big game the Dolphins dominated the line of scrimmage and smacked the opponent in the mouth. 14 points in last six quarters of the season just doesn’t cut it. This deplorable finish to the season is all on the offense, defense held up ok considering all the injuries. Tua had no chance with the offensive play calling and no running game tonight.

Tua looks great when everything is perfectly set for him and he can throw in rhythm, once a defense disrupts that and he is required to extend a play he looks Average and his limitations are clearly exposed. That’s what separating him from QBs like J.Allen, L. Jackson and others.

NFL has been making bad decisions for years really because of the fans can drive to the game. Yes the roads are clear, half the fans will end up with some type of illness from sitting 3 hours -27 degrees wind chill. I lived in Missouri 5 years, Germany 8, New York 4, and North & South Dakota 4 years. The NFL should have moved the game or canceled it. Putting the health of players at risk. Most people would be home if they had any common sense. The Refs definitely favored KC. You can knock down Tua but not Mahomes.
