Would love to hear expert tips for someone who can’t afford specialty dining every night, suite class, and $1000 excursions. This wasn’t very helpful unless you have that kind of money to spend but sounds like you had an amazing trip.
You have done a search on UA-cam for Harmony dining, right?
3 night dinning plan . You really don’t need excursions in a lot of places .

Harmony has several specialty restaurants that offer lunch on sea days-Chops, Jamie’s Italian and Izumi I know for sure. We often do lunch because it is much cheaper with many of the same choices.
I rarely book excursions. I look for things in walking distance from the port. Also you can look at taxi fares. In St Maarten we found a taxi driver that had a mini van. 5 of us in the van and he only charged $120 and drove us to where we wanted to go and places he recommended. We saw so much more than many booking excursions. You don’t need a dining package. I won’t lie. Sometime the upgraded dining is a treat but the Main Dining has turned out just fine. The drink package comes down to how much you expect to drink and if what. Some will swear the drink packages are a waste. Some swear by them. You have to determine this for yourself.
I had always stayed in Suites (including several Royal Suites) until Nov 2023 where I had an ocean view balcony. If you like to retreat back to your room for quiet time upgrading rooms is nice. An upgraded room is not worth killing your budget. You are going for fun . Don’t ruin your experience creating stress over money.
Loved the Video, but disappointed that the Cruise Tip for skipping lines (Priority Embarkation), wasn't actually a tip, but an amenity of a higher class cabin. For those interested: Priority Embarkation does not apply to Junior Suite level cruisers.
Thank you for sharing! Love your passion.
Pro tip! Always book the aqua show on the first night at sea….they cancel it anytime seas are rough so you can rebook it later in the week if need be.
Good to know, though I don't plan on watching it.
We're on the Harmony in Dec this year that is exactly what I was thinking.
Awesome information and content Cyndi!!!! Loved it!
Less than a month out from my own Harmony of the Seas experience. Can't wait! Thank you for the info.
So how was your trip?
Great info thanks 😊
We went on that cruise on HOS in August. We did Jamies and it was really good - want to try Park 150 too next time. We really, really liked the MDR. Windjammer was fine too for lunch, MDR for dinner. Solarium Bistro was actually better than the Windjammer though for lunch and breakfast - that's my tip:)
Having a ton of pillows is my jam. 😝
Will try on Dec. I love spa and I do spa a lot so I tried spa in cruises too. However, I rather do it home but if u just wanna try it for experience go for it
I am big on specialty dining too. Last time on Oasis at 150 the server took probably 20 minutes in presenting the salt, was great!
Was it gift wrapped, or what????
Great video, I just booked Harmony of the sea yesterday for October of 2023 , appreciate the tips
it will be your best experience.Haarmony is my favorite.I have done every Oasis class.Wonder was by far most amazing but still,Harmony is my home ship, by far.Enjoy your trip!!
@@janmiller266 thank you
@@rodmills737 I’m booked for November 2023 out of Galveston
Going on Harmony, first mega ship, on August 5, 2023 so will see if we enjoy this large of a ship.
Could you do a video of more detail ma out sky class? We sail in July and I have so many questions about how it works!
We have been cruising for years. You never know what side of the ship will be towards the port. I always book Starboard, and we are docked on the port side as often as not. It counts on the port, which dock the ship gets, and if the ship backs in or not. Just like the new terminal in Galveston. Allure may turn around, and she may not before she docks.
7:40 - The Spa is not worth it. I go to 5 star spas on land throughout the year. The Cruise spa is the same price as 5 star spas but with a lot less spa amenities. The Spa also aggressively tries to sell your stuff. For example, I was told I had scoliosis and that this $80 oil would help it. I don't have scoliosis and if I did, I doubt a spa oil would help. The other time the technician focused on my flaws (without me asking for advice) "Oh you have big pores, you need to buy this" or "Look at all your blackheads, you need to buy this". I felt like I spent $200 to be picked on.
Save your money and go to a Resort spa at home. No on land spa has ever aggressively tried to sell me stuff like a cruise spa and you get way more for your $$.
Exactly save your money and they always want to upsell something.
If you get a dining package, can you still reserve dining ahead of time, or do you have to wait until you get onboard?
It was so much to do on Coco Cay the Cabana is not worth it IMO. Our check in time was 11:30am and it took 15 min to board .
What perks come with Jr Suite. Thanks.
Love your tips, but if you put many videos of Harmony, it would be better. For example, if you went to the Chop Grill or Jamie's, you should let us see what you experienced.
I have been on the Harmony 3 times. My favorite.Even seeing the same people. After covid.Still MY FAVORITE!! 7/24/2022.full but amazing!Everyone, Start cruising and Live your life!!
Sailing on HOTS in 3 weeks, 9 rooms left and the week before is sold out. Sailed on Symphony last April and loved it. Hoping for the same experience
So how was the cruise?
We are booked for 4/28/2024 thanks for the tips
Please post your experiences we are going 12-29-24 and enjoy
*Pro Tip:* How important is it to you to have sunset or sunrise views from your room? Did you book on the side of the ship that's not ideal to take in those desired views from your room AND you have physical challenges that restrict your ability to get around the ship timely and quickly? What if you're on the ideal side of the ship, but you don't have an ocean view room (including balcony and suites with balconies) and would like to go out onto the decks to take in those specific views? Regardless of any travelers situation, the question remains... *What side of the ship would be best for capturing the moments that you desire?*
*What side of the Ship is Best? Port Side or Starboard?* Per many of the experts and the well traveled, Cruise Ships _typically_ dock "Port Side."
*Port Side:* is the left side of the ship facing forward.
"Starboard Side* is the right side of the ship facing forward.
While the sides of a ship don't change, keep in mind that which side is _best_ will depend on the cruiser's personal preferences, destination, direction of the ship's travel, the cruisers' onboard itinerary AND the cruiser's physical ability (if no balcony or oceanview rooms), etc. *NOTE:* Most Closed Loop Cruises (cruises that begin and end in the same port), will not generally matter so much, since the ship is traveling one way going, and the ship will turn when returning, but again, there may be some differences based on the ship & destinations. Weather conditions and rerouting can also impact cruise routes and views.
*Reminder:* Keep in mind that the sun always rises in the east and sets in the west. The general rule is...
*Traveling North/West: Choose Port Side for Great Sunsets*
*Traveling South/East: Choose Starboard Side for Great Sunrise*
This is great information when booking or to simply be aware of, to ensure you have the information that you need to create the experience that you want.
Happy Sailing Everyone
23:00 Smart casual has definitely become the norm for evening attire. I think of it as casual friday's at work. That's what most people wear.
"No jeans" business casual is the norm with formal nights. Some folks go to closer semi-formal (suit + tie, or dress. ). The fanciest you'll see is festive (think sparkles) or creative attire (think unique standout or statement pieces). I haven't seen a tux or a true formal gown in a long while.
Again, the above is just "the norm" I see if you want to blend in.
The only thing I have seen enforced is bathing suits/swim attire/transparent cover ups in the Main Dining Room or Specialty Restaurants. And you do need to wear all pieces of clothing (shirts and shoes). Just change out of your pool attire or go to the Windjammer, Sorrento's, El Loco Fresh, Park Cafe, Cafe Promenande. There are plenty of free places to eat with your pool attire on. But some folks get so dramatic about this.
Just did a cruise on Oasis Nov 2023. The booking for shows was a mess. They need to fix it or dump it.
How do I bid on a better room?
We just booked our Harmony of the Seas trip for January 2023 about 1 month ago. I booked directly with RCCL. Can I transfer my booking to you now?
Yay. We are also going Jan 2023 .
The back of the ship is called the stern, you were using port and starboard, but bow and stern is more descriptive
I'm kinda fond of front and back, left and right, and naming which floor you are on.
@@bugwar5545 turn around and dim the the lights, whats front or back?, nautical terms are used to avoid confusion, floor is called decks
@@davee8113 Turn around and dim the lights, what's fore and aft? Different words meaning exactly the same thing. Although one set does appeal to the inner snob.
@@bugwar5545 I was just making a point to someone who wants to talk about parts of the ship to make a reference that’s more accurate that is all , you normally mention both to make sure there is no confusion
Do you have to reserve a spot to see all the shows on the ship?
Yes, and maybe no.
Yes if you want to be sure of a seat.
No, cuz they have stand by lines. You might not get in though.
Great video - we are on Harmony in December and it's our first cruise. I think we'll be spoiled for future cruises! Love your orange/white blouse - do you mind sharing where you bought it?
Thanks! I got that wrap from Disney. Last time I saw it, it was at the gift shop near Expedition Everest.
So how was your cruise?????
I know there's a fee for flowrider if you want lessons, but is there a fee just to try it for fun?
No but the lines are pretty long
Great, so your tip for short lines is to pay for a suite. 🙄 That isn’t helpful for 99% of passengers. But this comes from someone who paid $1,200 for what amounts to a large umbrella.
Works for me.
lol and get free ice cream cone omg
Is it still required to show Covid vaccination status?
No.
Just booked Harmony for the second time... To bad it's Nov 2024
Same here!
Just think of the anticipation.
We cruised on Harmony 2016 for the first time. We will be on her again this December out of Galveston. Jamie's Italian was the worst dining experience ever. Food was maybe a 5 out of a 10. I've heard that Jamie's is on its way out. Chops is the best.
I wish we would have used you all. We booked with a local travel agent and she has been awful. It literally takes 3-4 weeks just to respond if they even do and haven't helped us with anything. We expressed our dissatisfaction multiple times but they just keep blaming covid and once booked with a TA Royal Caribbean won't deal with you directly anymore, which sux.
I thought you can’t book dining and shows in advance?
If you are in suite class you can.
@Tripsy Travel Agency what about Jr suites? can book in advance?
We are in balcony and was able to book shows and restaurants when they opened booking about 28 days before our cruise.
What vaccinated info needed???
Has trouble following because you were talking so fast, but ty for the video
so this is why I go on a cruise? to eat, have a spa and shop? no thanks
You do you boo. Whatever floats your boat & makes you happy. :-)
horrible tips from a travel agent
1) buy early when that really doesnt means lower prices, what drive those are supply and demand regardless of time
2) buy all the crap they upsell to you
3) spend money on specialty dining since free duning isnt good
4) buy more crap like photo packages
sorry but no, thanks for your advices that are looking for your own personal benefit$ not a normal person interests
You sound like a royal caribbean sales rep. there were no expert tips....all you did was give a waste of time recap of your trip
Caleb Barker, that was an ((excellent)) recap of her trip. Sounds like someone needs go watch another Chanel.
Sounds like Caleb needs a nap.
I found it useful.
Sorry Honey, not everyone wants to hear the advantages of you having a suite. Does not help us in steerage.
Steerage lol
