A REALLY inexpensive alternative to preformed bricks is cut up spare pieces of sprue. It comes in a huge variety of shapes and thicknesses. Because you cut them with a sprue cutter or nipper, some of the ends can be at broken / crooked angles. And best of all -It's FREE!
I'm am like everyone else so glad to see you back. You do such amazing work and watching your videos inspires me so much. So excited to see what comes next.
Good to see you back in action. I missed your tutorials. Beautiful work and easy to follow, as usual. However, the result is exceptionally nice this time.
This is great, I’ve been looking for inspiration for my Land speeder Storm base (because the supplied clear base is awful) and having a ruined battlefield for it to “fly” over is a great idea!
Out of curiosity, if i grab dirt/sand from outside, I know it's gonna be baked to remove anything from it... But is it safe to bake it in your regular oven (in your kitchen) or do I have to get a dedicated oven for it? Thank you, love your work my dude!
What pink puddy do ya use? Like brand or is there any usable substitutes that one can find on amazon? I base my chaos marines in a burning, charred, demolished city like rubble, so I wanted to use some cork for like broken slanted concrete walls for my champions or HQs to stand on
I like your video very much and have been following it. Recently, I also started to make model war videos. I really hope to get the guidance and help of the master, thank you very much! ! !
It's more to show off the technique than for a practical application, realistically you would only place the wall on huge bases like for dreadnoughts or large creatures
Although this is a great technique... why would there be bricks laying around amidst concrete ruins? Sticking some wire into the cork to represent rebar instead would have made it more realistic. Just saying.
@@RokuroCarisu I think he meant building with concrete and bricks or bricks added just for aesthetics. If not It can still be parts of other buildings (it's ruble after all) I will for sure use this guide but without adding bricks. Imo undamaged bricks don't fit next to a obliterated concrete ruin.
@@RokuroCarisu But even in the grim dark there will be those that try to make things less so. The bricks could have been put around the base of the building just purely for decoration.
glad to see you back in action on here
Glad to be back! Many more videos to come!!!
@@EonsOfBattle glad to hear it! I loved your original videos and had lost hope that ypu would return after more than a year
Even though this video is a year old, there is a very noticeable improvement that you guys have made since then.

Sry could't resist...
Don't hate me pls 😅
@@EonsOfBattlePURRRRRGEEE!!!!
Loving how the smoothed wall sides have a little texture to them from dragging the Xacto across them!

Thanks! We appreciate it! We have so much more! New video tomorrow!
thanks alot , your instruction very simple to follow, and use cheap + easy to find material❤
Wait but.. it's cork... why does it look more like a wall than walls in real life? I love these bases!
I'm digging this. Have a lot of unpainted miniatures and and this seems like a great way to create a display piece.
Definitely will try it.
yes, this is exactly what I was looking for

We're trying to increase the quality of all the videos we do! Glad you're enjoying them!
Your bases are amazing, they look like something from the Terminator movies
These bases look amazing. Very good idea to use kork for the walls. 👍
I know I'm a bit late, but what thickness of cork did you use for the walls? It looks around 5mm from the video but I couldn't be sure.
The dry wall idea was real nice
FINALLY - I found a video where you paint the base edge something other than BLACK! 😉
Good video! But at 5:02 is that not clearly Rhinox Hide? Dryad Bark is a contrast paint and is damn near black when it goes onto the model.
These look great!
this is an amazing video thanks so much for this!
Just perfect ❤🎉
Terrific ideas.
This is great, I’ve been looking for inspiration for my Land speeder Storm base (because the supplied clear base is awful) and having a ruined battlefield for it to “fly” over is a great idea!
These are really cool, how would you go about attaching your minis to these bases?

I love that you are back! I always get inspired when watching you'r videos.
Thanks! :) I'm happy you're enjoying them! MORE TO COME!
Great and simple!
Great vid - how thick is that cork?
I’d recommend super glue gel if you want to glue porous materials it doesn’t absorb as much
Great video, any way to get this done without an airbrush?
Not nitpicking, asking:
Wouldn't Tamiya extra thicc cement work better for gluing cork together?
Is the wood glue watered down?
Awesome
These are really cool bases! Great work!

Thanks so much!
Where do you get the cork you use?

He said what brand in the video. And even put the name of the putty on screen when he used it?
Love the fact you guys are back, but that's Rhinox Hide, not Dryad Bark
Hi, nice Video. Lovly Bases. What do you use for the little bricks? :)
I think he said he got them through Green Stuff World.
You can cut little slieces from sprues to. Very cheap ;)
Awesome!
Glad you liked it! We’ll have more videos out soon!
Awesome, would you say this works better than the rubble paste you made 6 years ago?
This method works well and we also have a new recipe where we use sparkling in the paste we’ve used that in a lot of our new videos
Very nice. How about some 80's cartoon terrain? Like Thundercats, He-man, Silverhawks, & Voltron.
I like it! I'll add it to the list!
Translation for those not in America:
- Exacto Knife = Hobbyy Knife
- Drywall Paste = Pollyfiller
- Elmer's Glue = PVA / School glue
Seriously though, nice job!
I find wood gluw works well on cork

Why do you put a wall in the middle of your bases?
Cover?

Nice
Although this is a great technique... why would there be bricks laying around amidst concrete ruins?
Sticking some wire into the cork to represent rebar instead would have made it more realistic. Just saying.
A bunch of places that have been around long enough would have a mixture of architecture and building variations.
The bricks could have been part of decorative additions to the building to make it look less like a giant concrete box.
@@JMcMillen That is understandable. But concrete buildings happen to _be_ just boxes, usually.

Problem with all these tutorials is that there’s no where to put the model 😂
