I am definitely fascinated by Moonen. Months ago I started to follow them and thanks to this tour, I put Moonens in my short list of my favorite yachts ever. Thanks David.
Moonen has been my favorite yacht builder for years. It starts with the MOONEN " Bijou ". I built two models for the Miniatur Wunderland, Abteolung Monaco, with the permission of MOONEN. Since then I've been infected by MOONEN!
I can't get enough of this channel, the quality of these videos is terrific. Showing the yachts while also talking about the builder and their history is a really good format. I've been in the marine and yacht industry for years and I still learn something new in every one of your videos!
Wow I just loved this video.. it is amazing to see how these yacht's are built and how much pride the builders have in them.. excellent work David... Cheers from Canada
A very enjoyable video! Thanks for showing some crew space for us. I'm so happy with this, I won't even mention you slipped in "Moon in" a couple of times. 😉
Well I've been working now for 50 years as a senior scientist. The size of my boats has slowly increased from 16' then 21', the 28' which is as big as I can waterski behind. I owned a houseboat for about 15 years; the kids enjoyed it. I've carefully calculated how much longer I need to work before ordering my MOONEN. It's about another thousand years :-)😀
I was shocked to hear you say that the yachts only come with a two year warranty. I can’t imagine spending tens or hundreds of millions on a yacht and it come with a shorter guarantee than some of the appliances onboard. I’d have thought yacht builders would stand by their products and workmanship for much longer.
Most houses in the US come with a 10 day warranty... starting from what ever day the builder says. If you want anymore coverage you have to pay for it. Most people don't even realize they're paying for the warranty in the mortgage.. or if they paid cash they also paid for some sort of warranty. The builder is supposed to pay the warranty like insurance but pretty much always passes that cost to the owner.
This is why new yacht purchasers often have their Captain or other representative staying full time at the shipyard during construction. Trust but verify.
Two years is pretty standard for two reasons: First, it's a yacht so everything is exposed to extremes (sunlight, seawater, etc.) and hence more wear and tear. Secondly, yachts are typically bought through an SPV and hence a business entity which means your typically extended private consumer warranty times don't apply! Which again means chances are that all the appliances you mentioned in your comment also come with only a two-year warranty as you by them as a business customer not a private person. Though everything is negotiable.
Well done David, love to see the shipyard tours. Moonen definitely build a very high quality yacht, and have a solid reputation as a well built honest yacht. They should be on the top of the list of yards for this size/quality of yacht build. Nice to see the focus on the technical built quality elements.
That is a really nice starter Yacht and good for an owner operator with a minimal crew. My consideration is what is the range of this yacht? What is fuel capacity? Is it built for the US or EU market? What is the galley equipped with for not only appliances but does it have walk in refrigeration and freezer space? when you have long range you need a larger food capacity and storage for canned good and drinks. Not everyone needs a large wine cooler or alcohol bar. A bar for soft drinks makes it far more family friendly for the US market. These are just a few of the considerations that a prospective buyer would like to know. However, Moonen looks to be building nice looking, functional and mechanically well thought out yachts. I would like to see them expand their facilities and build larger yachts into the 180 foot range. Nice Job David, I would like to see the finished yacht that you explored and said that it was currently for sale. 😁
Wow. This is very nice handcraft.. nothing I can say👍👍👍 this absolutely perfect ,,, I wish Shark Australia and Shark America can help too. I'm reffing a TV show..
Really compelling video, can't believe it's the channel's first. Feels much more polished than that. I follow the other channel but even so, this is a new format, and you really hit the ball out of the park. Looking forward to more videos. Will we be seeing a regular upload schedule on this channel? Say one upload a month? Thanks for the video.
Interesting this one is nearly complete but still for sale. You stated 6 have been sold with 3 delivered, this one being #4. I suspect the original buyer pulled out of the sale, maybe a Russian who can no longer afford it due to sanctions?
Hi Jeff, thanks for watching and for commenting. The Martinique is the yacht that has six sales and I showed hull number 4. The yacht that is for sale is the Moonen 110; the one that I walked around. This is hull number 1.
the yard and yachts look nice. the screen flicker in between shots/pics was annoying. i really wish you all would stop using that, but that is just me. good vid
Poor workplace safety. Presenter and interviewees not wearing PPE in yard/ factory premises. They are lucky there are no nails etc lying around. Omg! What quality is that?
stay away from this boat manufacturer. they get you on hidden fees. ie, they don't include an aluminum trailer with the boat purchase, you have to buy that separately

This is the most beautiful yacht ever. If I had lottery win my order would be placed. Thanks guys for Sunday morning entertainment and dream.
WOW, that was a fantastic tour of a soon to be beautiful yacht. Thank you David for showing us around this yacht in process.
Woww good presentation n Respect to the ship yard

I hope your field of science is Epigenetics.
This was very interesting. I love those Dutch shipyards.
And, their website is now up and running again :)
Thank you commentator for explaining very well
Awesome video David, please more like this. So nice to see the people and procedures of building a super yacht.

@@jeremycovelli Yeah that sounds like the kinda thing they’d get away with in the USA. Land of caveat emptor capitalism.

Having worked and been in the industry for such a long time David , I wonder what shipyard you would use to build your dream yacht ?

Remarkable craftsmanship
Hi David. I'd be over the moon with this one. The Martinique looks awesome. A long standing brand with Dutch build quality. Great video, thanks 😊
Nice presentation David as always. Keep up the good work kind sir.
The yacht 4:47 here, is that M/Y Sofia? He wanted his yacht swim platform extended to launch a submarine
Love all your videos. Really enjoyed learning the build process.
What is product that is used to "plaster" the hull & superstructure?
Wow. This is very nice handcraft.. nothing I can say👍👍👍 this absolutely perfect ,,, I wish Shark Australia and Shark America can help too. I'm reffing a TV show..

Thanks so much for the feedback. I’m aiming for one every two weeks…but that may be a little optimistic!

Is this built in steel, aluminum, GRP or something else? Sorry if you said it and I missed it
Steel hull, aluminium superstructure!
Sitting here thinking how I can attach a trailer to a pontoon amd have my own swamp Yat.
But how do they stack up against Moomins?
Nice
Interesting video but the music video style editing here is pretty annoying.
Him: nothing worse than stepping your naked foot onto cold marble.
Me: huh, rich people problems
Cold Marble! Poor Baby!
Great video, music to loud.
An important industry for the growing list of billionaires... any of us worker bees getting invited to vacation on one of these?
A1 yes,of course i want my privateboat most be bulletproof okkey,🤴🏻💯✅🚢✨👍👌🏻🎗

's-Hertogenbosch can also be written and pronounced as Den Bosch. 's-Hertogenbosch is for us the Dutch also a bit to mutch
Pink awlgrip filler I feel the pain of these boggers especially on the two or three man board.
I would find this interesting but for the annoying music..
Your map is wrong. 's Hertogenbosch is not where you put it in your map.
You slipped back to calling the company MOON en
Daaaamn! You’re right!
You went back to mispronouncing it in the follow-up commentary, you said Moonen with the oo.
I know...I kicked myself when I played back the video!

Aaron, please! A 36 meter yacht on a trailer? You're not serious!
