I once dated a Japanese girl before and she was pretty cool. Every women from any diverse culture is different and so it makes sense that some won't date foreigners.

Having braces has conditioned me into covering my mouth while I eat too, not that I ate with my mouth open in the first place but I get overly polite when I eat with people who aren’t immediate family ahaha
I think Mana's preference and opinion about body hair is quite common among Japanese women, and while I dont agree (and maybe understand lol) with their association with hair being unhygienic, Im glad this way of thinking goes BOTH WAYS. Japanese women have always gone the extra mile to improve their physical appearance to 'please' everyone (especially the opposite sex), but its nice to see that men are also subject to this now. It would be so much easier/らく though if both genders just dropped this ridiculous mindset

Well; the whole sharing food thing; is a thing in other cultures like Brasil for example sharing food is a thing also Spain does the same. So it all comes down to the “type” of Foreigner they are referring to.

I never understand how body hair is considered unclean. It's natural and serves a purpose to help regulate body temperature. It's not like you magically don't shower just because you are hairy.
You have to keep in mind that the Japanese are very big on cleanliness. Therefore excessive body hair (away from the armpit or genital area) is considered unclean.
Another reason why you don't see many Japanese men with beards. Although the time are changing tremendously.
Mostly, its a matter of their personal preference.
I don't have any problem with few hairs but try searching Anil Kapoor or Akshay Kumar, they are Indian actors. I was eating lunch and watching movie with my cousin and I suddenly saw him without shirt and I just feel vomit by seeing so many hair on his chest. I know it's natural and nobody has control over it but I just can't see that idk why myself either.

I'm grew up in America and I always thought it was weird to not only open gifts in front of the person that gave it to you, but even more weird to do it in front of an entire group of people. Just seems... a bit awkward and rude???

It is funny how japanese can be so well organized and educated people and then can surprise you with some comments like "if someone has (natural) hairs on legs or arms they seems to be dirty", it is so disconnected with reality, other cultures and human beings in general that it is so shocking sometimes. My girlfiend used to dislike some arm hair but now she keeps touching arm like if she has a fetish

When I was a single, younger man in America I dated some Asians. Tremendous difference between Americans of Asian descent and actual foreign nationals.
Not including hook ups, I had two Japanese girlfriends and one Korean gf. Fairly brief affairs. I dunno, doesn’t seem like it’s hard to have a partner from these countries if you want one, though I never sought it out.
Marriage, on the other hand, seems like a seriously different story. I imagine that’s an incredibly high bar for non Japanese men.

Patricia… you should do this more like Asian Boss, That Japanese Man Yuta, The Japan Reporter, Black Experience Japan and others… sit down and interview a variety of people, because almost certainly one or two people’s opinion can’t remotely be considered as a consensus. Just saying that this interview is one person’s perspective and it’d be better journalism to have additional opinions.
Foreigners chewing with their mouths open… I won’t deny that there are those… less cultured people out there. However, I’ve seen my own fair share of men and women (especially men) who chew with their mouths open in Japan. I will give you culprits (people who refuse to wash their hands after using the restroom) though… this does seem to be much better in Japan than in the US (and the UK is pretty bad too I hear).

Gosh trying to maintain hairlessness would be utter torture for some men as it covers their entire body. Extremely expensive as well for laser treatments.

I've tried asking out several different Japanese women in the past before i met my European angel of a girlfriend. but I was always told no. So I moved on. And now I am so very happy with my European girlfriend, who actually gave me the chance to show her that I'm a good and loyal guy, and now we are very happy. None of if I'm a rich guy and have a house, stuff. I work hard. My European girlfriend likes me for me.

Yet, everyone still talks about, copies, and looks to America for any and everything. I hear it is very common for guys to prefer hair-less men here in Japan. It makes sense because getting laser hair removal for men is becoming increasingly popular here & there's ads all over the trains for it!
I’m Asian and I also find it to be an unattractive trait. I wouldn’t try to persuade someone to get laser hair removal though, but I would be less interested in hairy men. (Just wanted to add another personal opinion on the subject.)

I'm fluent, culturally integrated, tall, have very light body hair, and everyone tells me I'm handsome (setting aside whether that's flattery or truth...), but many times I can't match with women I'm most interested in on dating apps, or even matching services. I wish that I could ask women specifically what about me is a turn-off, but the fact that they turned me down means it's impossible to ask.
Is it age, location, face, body type, hobbies, or is it actually preconceptions about me? Am I up against more preconceptions because I live in Nagano rather than the "big city"? How do I get people to understand that I'm a normal, fluent guy looking for a serious relationship beyond outright stating it? None of Mana's concerns about foreigners apply to me.
My entire profile is in Japanese, I've stated that I speak Japanese fluently, and I still get assumptions that I can't speak.
I recommand you to find a half-half or more older than you. Start matching around 30 -40 and you will be suprised! Compared to western women, japanse look like 20 when there are in ther 30s or 40s ;) Good luck Bruder.

My question is why is it always a white fella?🤔 In my area, I ALWAYS see an Asian woman with a white guy. Rarely, if ever, do I see them with a Black guy or a Spanish guy. Or any other type of guy other than Asian and Caucasian. Any clarity would be cool, cause I've always wondered why that was the case.
(This is probably ignorant, so I'm aware of that. I'm just trying to see if it's just in my area or around the globe, really. Just so I know for future reference. Just an FYI, I worked in a lot of public places, so I saw hundreds and hundreds of people inside and out, traveling or whatever. So it's not like I went to my local gas station and saw the same regulars. That's just a fact to keep in mind😤 I'm GENUINELY curious, though. Asians are more racist than most generally. They dislike blacks and hispanics, whites are like 2 tier and asians the best. And even then every Asian nationality dislikes all the others.

My guess is, caucasian+asian stands out more than other combinations of interracial couples. Maybe because I’m Asian, but I find black, hispanic, mid eastern people to be kinda ethnically ambiguous. So they don’t stand out as much as white guy/ asian girl couples🤷♀️
