Next time go to Zakopane very early in the morning, like 6 am from Krakow. It takes 2,5 hrs to get there and then some little bus to the start of a trail. Get some good boots, water and food in a backpack. It's a shame these times to be going by horse carriage if you're a healthy adult. ;) Have a good time travelling and exploring places.
The love of the highlanders from Zakopane for money is legendary among Polish tourists, that's why there is even a saying if you want to go to the mountains, go to the Bieszczady Mountains, there are also mountains but without the highlanders ;)
Just to let you know in the future - don't take horse to Morskie Oko, ever. Generaly it is something that most people don't like and treat those that took horse like some lazy worms that came to mountains but don't even want to use their legs, so take horses insted. And also during summer it's really hot and those poor animals need to stay there at full sun which already lead to many sad events in the past :/ Cabbage soup ("Bigos") which you ordered is more of a main dish then a soup, that is why we eat it usually with fork :D
Tam sié robi zle zmontowane "so take horses insted", to zamáca, bo brakuje they took, czyli "so they took the horses instead", bo tak to brzmi - nie bierz koni.....wiéc wez konie🙂
23:20 (1) It's because you filmed those ladies. Probably also without asking them for permision first (?). That was also the issue with the lady at Krakow's bus station in previous episode. People in Poland don't film others unless they want to document that the other person did someting wrong. Some people (women in particular) generally feel unsafe when being filmed. It is considered unpolite (even rude) / provocative to film someone. Tha'ts why they have faces like this (although the lady at Morskie Oko can also be fed up with tourists in general ). (2) The street in the begining was very empty because (it seems) it was May 1st - national holiday in Poland :) You can see national flag on residential building - which is not normal for other days. May 3rd is also a free day (Day of Constitution). So it all makes what we call a "long weekend" here. Shops closed, everybody goes to touristic places out of town - like ...to Zakopane 😆. (3) May 1st - that's why the entrance to the gallery was closed 😜. (4) On that day busses are less frequent. In the beginng you were checking the wrong bus schedule (for ordinary/working days) 🤗. (5) That day is one of the worst days to travel from Krakow to Zakopane. Many locals + all tourists go there at the same time. That's why it took such a long time. Under normal conditions 2 h is enough. Also that's why there were so many people on the road to Morskie Oko. (6) People who take horse carriages to Morskie Oko are seen as lazy / ignorant by 'ordinary' people here. A normal person with two legs 😉 WALKS to Morskie Oko. Unless one is handicaped - one should not take those carriages. Also: it's a price exploit by the locals (too expensive). There's also a big issue of the horses being abused by the locals in that work. There were instances of horses dying there (due to elevation / heat / maltreatment / old age). All in all - you've made an interesting video showing how clouless one can be in a foreign country when going there without checking basics about time / place / local insight into everydays life. And I like that! 🤣 We in Krakow have to deal with tourists like this every day - which makes us more resilient to other's mistakes / ignorance / cultural differences. 😎 Ufff.... 🙃
The lady didn't really lie, the way to Zakopane from Kraków IS 2 hours when there's no big traffic. But unfortunately always something happens on that way, especially around town Poronin and during touristy seasons. In winter I once was going back to Kraków in a bus for 5 hours because of snowstorm 😂
You two are a match made in Heaven. Seems like you get along so well. God Bless. Maybe one day you will tie the knot and have a little David or a Naty 👶👶 Beautiful views oh my word. Reminds me of a place in Austria.
May 1'st is a Labor Day Holiday in Poland and the start of a so called "long weekend". Traditionally, this is one of the few days of the year when the road from Krakow to Zakopane is the most congested. And the trail to Morskie Oko is completely jammed with tourists. Besides... come on! Set off to the mountains at 10:00 from Krakow :-) You should catch the bus at 6:00 and then you would be in Zakopane at 8:00 If you did this trip 1 day earlier, there would be neither traffic jams nor people. And at Morskie Oko you would have met maybe 20 people....
I love watching your videos it takes me away and makes me want to move over to Columbia and find love and travel I'm 58 from NYC I guess it's never too late.
I think you took wrong bus to the station. Sometimes the stops at one area have the same name BUT each of them has a number. You need to check which exact one you need to get off on and which bus stops at it. You were right to go to Politechnika, you just got off on the wrong one, there's like 8 of them.
Gracias David, interesting to see part of Poland! David, can I ask if your other videos are not here? I was looking for the video of the Hot Springs! Or am I going nuts :)
I feel like visiting these northern hemisphere places in the summer is the move. I'm tryna hit up more of the newengland region in america this summer Seems like all the buildings in europe look either super modern or super old no mcmansion style ones
great video! and yes you're right most of the cities in europe are perfect for walking. but you're the same as me, if i walk a lot one day i'll be like you know what, i'm just going to to treat myself to a chocolate bar and of course after all that walking those calories i just burnt are back hahaha. but i can't help myself i love choclate man!
DLACZEGO? Dzięki takim turystom te konie mają sens. Ludzie co chcą 'likdwidacji zaprzęgów' sprawią tylko, że te konie pojadą do rzeźni bo nikt ich nie będzie utrzymywał za darmo. It is very frowned upon to ride a horse-drawn carriage to Morskie Oko! In Poland, organizations are struggling with the fact that the horses are tired and do not have sufficient rest and care. Please do not do this!
You Start 9am and get to Zakopane at 2pm, wtf? Beautiful. What was the name of the lake? I couldn't figure out where exactly you guys were the whole time. Maybe I missed it
Hey, Pole here. I think its "morskie oko" - "sea's eye". It's insanely clear and pure, unfortunately you cant swim there but still - worth visiting.
great video! and yes you're right most of the cities in europe are perfect for walking. but you're the same as me, if i walk a lot one day i'll be like you know what, i'm just going to to treat myself to a chocolate bar and of course after all that walking those calories i just burnt are back hahaha. but i can't help myself i love choclate man!

Interesting. Why is the horse drawn carriages bad? Overpriced?
Konie są źle traktowane i wiele z nich umiera z przepracowania. Kiedy są już słabe oddają je do ubojni:(
@@dawidskok8870ah that is truly sad.
@@LifewithDavid No its not. There was literally one case in thousands where the horse died from overwork. But of course eco-crazies will cause drama.
Probably not a probation, haha, they want to preserve their tourist track, must look good
What was the name of the restaurant?
not quite sure, but it is the cabin next to the lake, can't miss it.
@LifewithDavid what's the name of the cabin and lake?
Morskie Oko lake in Zakopane@@MrTimetravler
