Interesting product for those who need access to multiple services in multiple countries. Certainly less hassle than setting it up manually.
I have one of these devices & trust me it is great - I live in U.K. & by using this I have access to so much more content from various locations & at much cheaper prices
Wow I have been looking for something like. thank you!
Hello I’m sorry I’m confused I have my isp modem and my google nest router connected to that modem how will I go about connecting this
Hi Lon, good video 👌👍
How is this different from "Location Guard" which is a FREE IP "re-locator" Chrome extension? I have used it to be able to use Locast (when Locast was available) to get Charlotte stations when I live in another city.
yes however, sometimes streaming services black list ip of the bypass chrome extensions
Well you don’t have chrome on your roku etc
The Stream Locator is the only thing on this list that I thought was kind of cool. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be interested in giving them money monthly or annually otherwise I'd grab it for $100. Does anyone know of anything that would allow me to do the same thing as the Stream Locator with my Roku Ultra without a monthly or annual fee?
Can I stream bbbciplayer uk using streamlocator if I dont have uk tv license.
how do you set the location
Very interesting product. Thank you Lon.
will it work for youtube TV/?
Another subscription? You had me then you lost me.
I have a VPN service and was looking to watch a show on Netflix and a notification from Netflix said that my IP address was in the US and they locked me out. I’m located in Canada.
IP address locators are flaky. I have them locating me all over the country.
You do risk that this device will face a legal battle and possibly be taken out of business. You could pay the yearly subscription fee and then a week later the courts could order the service turned off, so you're probably better to go with the monthly fee and not have to worry about losing $70 or whatever the yearly fee is at the time. Still even $70 isn't a huge amount to risk. But I do believe that using this device will always be an uphill battle - the streaming services will change their systems to block this device and this company will come up with a patch to fix it, only to have the streaming services change their systems again. Just the day you want to sit down and watch that ever-important game is the day it's not going to work!
Thanks for the good overview of the device, Lon. Personally I won't be buying one but I do think it has a place for some people, even though a predict it will have a short lifespan.
It's just a VPN which isn't illegal, setting up accounts with the channels is your responsibility. They don't carry the streams on their servers like a VOD service.
@@OldMan_PJ it's not a VPN and it has specific technology in it to circumvent streaming restrictions. If it stays a niche product it might fly under the radar but if it becomes popular it will get killed off by the legal system.

The question is, lets say you live in Polan. Can you use polish apps?
My paranoid anxiety wouldn't allow this. I would watch one BBC show and imagine the copyright infringement notice being printed up and sent to me by my isp right after the program ended. Lol
I think you can recreate this using raspberry pi but an easy to setup box is appreciated.
Smartdnsproxy is doing same thing with ur own router at 60 usd for 2 year
Brilliant device
Can I watched American channels here in Africa using this?
Does it work with DSTV South Africa?
On their website it states it does !
Wonder if this will work with plex.
Lon covered this and even made a special chapter for it in the video
How is this just not a router with a built in VPN?
nice
My experience is that all the major TV services know and block or otherwise limit the popular VPN IP address ranges. If you have a US-based Netflix account and start bouncing around the world via VPN, Netflix will quickly notice and shut you down.
Imagine sneaking these into North Korea or China :o
I'd rather use a VPN, at least your IP is not exposed.
Which VPN do you use?
Also need a usa credit card, in order to get channels
Additional hardware, ongoing cost, Netflix is maybe; hard pass. Great video! First time I watched a live stream and then a review. Interesting to see the difference.
Useless to me in South Africa if Netflix don’t work.
$70 yearly? better to get VPN n set it up inside a router
I wonder how copyright laws work on this
Okay so I'm going to be that guy. First of all this is not a device for somebody like me. This device is helping you pirate content so why not just get it by other means then that have been more traditional over the last 20 years? At least that way you wouldn't be paying more money for the service. Yes, this device helps you pirate content because it is allowing you to access blocked content therefore you are breaking the terms of service for the streaming services that you are accessing. At the end of the day I'll just pull crap down put it on my flex server for my friends and family to consume.
I think it could be great for live TV. For example, in the UK you can only watch about half of the games for the premier league, and you would need to pay £80 per month across 4 subscriptions.
When I could probably purchase a US subscription for a quarter of the price and get every single game.
