Thanks, yes we love hunting for fossils. Sometimes you get lucky and find a great one but usually you find something interesting. You do need to check out the area carefully as you need to know exactly where you have a chance of finding them not just the name of the beach.
Lovely part of the country and cool you was able to find a fossil! Getting distracted is what’s its all about! Lovely beach here! Looks like a warm day for it!
Nice finding them but nothing that exciting. Had better luck up around Whitby. Yes it was very warm. I think it was over 30 Celsius that day.
I can clearly remember watching a wee black and white documentary film about Mary Anning's discoveries while at primary school (eons ago...lol) We enjoyed Primary school very much indeed. You guys are making me hungry again with your quality bar snacks and ales!
Wonderful you saw that so long ago. In the 70's there was a children's book called, 'The crocodile' that included her fossil collecting. I think the BBC even made a dramatised series of the book. It's great at the moment with two movies coming out about her.
A beautiful summer's day walk in England. The fish and chips place and the sea glass definitely peeked my interest. 🦀
It was a lovely place to visit and fortunately we had good weather. Do you collect sea glass when walking along a beach?
@@GeoRick I live along the shores of Lake Erie, part of the Great Lakes. Beach glass is fun to collect along its shore. My sister has a huge, glass beaker of it in her kitchen from years of collection. 🦀

Thoroughly enjoyed the video, so many good points. Love the clarity of the video, really makes me feel I am there too. The bigger fossils in the shop must be expensive, I saw just a small one size of your hand, 65 pounds! Enjoyed the walkabout thru the town too, thanks for another vid R+L.
Glad you liked it Mike. I actually forgot to check the prices. i was too focused on trying to avoid reflections in the glass. I suspect they run into the hundreds of pounds for the best large ones.
What a lovely little town. Amber ale, my favourite. Amazing what you can find if you stop to look.
Yes it was an interesting search but nothing amazing this time. More fossil collecting and better luck when we reach the Yorkshire Coast where these rocks rise up again.
Another great excursion I would've loved to join you on! I don't know how many fossils I would've brought back home with me but it would've been A LOT! :) You can keep the fossils you find, right???

Yes you can keep any you find. The good thing about it is that you are saving fossils that the sea would destroy if they were left there on the beach.
