- This is very improvable. Some fights in there were really bad, simply due to the fact that I'm straight up not good at some of the bosses or don't know the most optimal strat. But I never was very enthusiastic about bosses, so this is a satisyfing result for me
This is the Boss Rush IL category, where as opposed to the single segment category, you can abuse deaths and restarts (like checkpoints in other ILs) as much as you want without getting penalized for it, for as long as you have extra lives. On some bosses I restart after the intro cutscene because when the cutscene plays, the timer starts earlier. Failed attempts were cut out of the recording, so sometimes you see the extra live counter dropping rapidly. I especially make use of this in both Egg Golems, as there is an extra life capsule that you can just keep recollecting on every attempt, so you have infinite attempts on this boss without every running out of lifes (though you might end up losing your mind). Additionally, these bosses have the weird quirk where every time you restart, their attack patterns get delayed more, and eventually they don't move at all for the entire duration of the fight. This is combination with the extra live is a bit cheap, I must admit, but it results in a good final time, so there ya go.
No one has submitted an All Stories boss rush for the IL category on speedrun.com yet where they would actually treat each boss as an IL, so one motivation for me doing this was to encourage better players to attempt to beat this time

The Sonic Egg Golem fight was absolutely beautiful. I thought that I had a pretty good time and skip by using the bounce when he does his headbutt attack, but I had no idea that a super bounce was possible at that small of a wall that you performed it on. Definitely the highlight of the video right there for me, very well done.
The Biolizard fight was also insane with the homing attack scaling over and over. I did that like once ever when I was a kid and never was able to do it again.
@@tjpat209 thank you! Egg Golem is unfortunately just dependent on fast inputs and theres not really a way around that. But Biolizard is very position dependent, so if you wanna try to again yourself definitely try to copy the climb spot and angle from me or another runner

Sonic Adventure 3 will only happen when fans of Sonic make it for SEGA.
Sonic 06 was supposed to be the Sonic Adventure 3 until they fucked it up. Oh well we still have project 06 that makes the gameplay much more fluent and akin to the Adventure series. Give that a look if you're curious, there's some demos you can download

just takes practice! Theres lots of different strategies to help you beat bosses and levels quick, just look up speedruns of the game, theres tons of cool tricks in there and a big community behind it

The final mech fights are just absolutely awful in boss rush mode, especially with fighting Tails as Eggman. I swear they got aimbots on them...

Man, I just got 14:08 on GameCube and thought that I did great. Of course, I didn’t do all the resets like you did.
yeah you can really push it if you use up all your extra lives. 14 minutes seems pretty solid honestly!

I’d definitely improve my time if I learned those strats for Egg Golem 1 and Biolizard. It’s crazy all the things that have been found in this game!
@@Hadaron Egg Golem uses a trick called superbounce. You need to release the spindash and before you hit the wall jump and bounce, but because its such a narrow space you need to press the buttons super quickly. In Egg Golem this is very hard to pull off consistently, but a useful trick to use wit Sonic all throughout the game to extra high on all sorts of places.
Biolizard is honestly just a matter of positioning and mashing. Positioning is more important, so try to climb up the exact same spot that I do, but you can make up bad positioning if youre really good at mashing.
I don't speedrun this game anymore but if youre interested getting into it you can look up the game on speedrun.com, theres a Discord server linked with tons of active runners who can help you with tricks

Thanks to you I learned the Biolizard trick. Haven’t done it in a full bosses run yet, but I definitely wouldn’t have discovered that on my own.

Why are you resetting some fights?
i explained that more in detail in the video description but tl;dr it delays the timer start of many bosses so you get slightly better times this way.
Yeah, I feel stupid I didn't see the "click to expand" part of the description. How I missed I don't know... But I did 😂.
On a random side note, of all the bosses which one annoyed you the most attempt wise?
@@SpiritualJD12887 no worries, it happens! i've not run this game in several years at this point so my experiences aren't exactly fresh in my mind, but the obvious picks would be Hero Egg Golem and Biolizard due to how finnicky they are to get a good time on
@@Nimputs Ah, I think the most interesting thing I learned about the game itself was certain levels are literally impossible to 100% because the rings for that level can never be obtained normally for the player.
Shadow's white jungle level being the absolute worst case where around 1/3 of the entire ring count exists floating in mid air in area 100's of yards out of bounds that you cant even see much less reach.
How are you supposed to do what you did to scale the biolizard? I can’t do that
the most important thing is finding the correct spot to climb up, so make sure youre doing it at the exact same location as me. Also make sure to do a full high jump before starting to homing attack, cause the collision below the peak of the jump wont allow for it. If youre very good at mashing, you can make up for bad positioning but if your positioning is good you can get up with just a few homing attacks
