I've come to realise for cdramas "ceo", "chairman" and "president" all mean rhe same thing. It's just a way of referring to the male lead. Just like how "cinderella" refers to the female lead.

I will never understand what some of the stylists on these dramas are thinking. She was going to a high profile semi-formal business event with a ton of press there. Her character knew what the event was ahead of time, so why would the stylists choose to dress her in a t-shirt and short shorts? Her character would have wanted to at least look like she belonged and not like she crashed the party. She is supposed to be someone from a lower income bracket, not stupid. Even if it wasn't haute couture, they should at least had her wearing a skirt or dress with some nice shoes instead of dressing like the person that was going to help movie the furniture back in place when the party was over. And the girl the mom was trying to force on him was dressed like she came there directly after a picnic for skanks.
I believe it’s how they display the Chinese mentality of class difference, one that is just not aware of some social etiquettes of the wealthy class. It’s an endearing trope for the poor meeting the rich kind of thing in China. The Chinese drama often make it more obvious by her talking to normal people in the party or not talking to the popular or important ones, eating simple things (tarts) and not the champagne, not aware of what’s going on or being concerned with what other people think at a gathering. So they are seen as non important and other people think they don’t belong, but secretly they are the lover of the most desired person there. It’s kinda of a dream for many to be swooned by Prince Charming like that in such society. Anyways….
