    TIMESTAMPS
0:38 What is ClyphX Pro? Midi remote script. Add as a control surface in Ableton’s preferences.
1:07 What does it do? Enable unmatched control of Ableton Live, to optimize the creative and performing process.
1:24 Who uses ClyphX Pro? Daniel Mintseris, Mr. Bill, Jeff Caylor and many more. Check out what these wild creatives are up to in the ClyphX-Pro forums: forum.nativekontrol.com/board/45/clyphx-pro
    Mr. Bill's tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/EBAglKYTOe0/v-deo.html
1:58 ClyphX Vocabulary brief overview: X-Clips (this video), X-Scenes, X-Cues, etc.
2:19 X-Clip intro. Identifier explained. [] METRO to toggle metronome on or off.
2:36 Check Clip Quantization (set to “None” for immediate action)
    3:02 Change Tempo with X-Clip: [] BPM 80
3:17 Change Tempo over time using BPM RAMP..increase or decrease tempo to a specified BPM over a certain number of hundreds of miliseconds.
    3:34 [] BPM RAMP 4 100
Tempo Changes to 100 BPM over 400 miliseconds.
    3:58 BPM Ramp variations.
4:28 Change Tempo over a certain number of beats or quarter notes based on Ableton’s current global tempo.
    4:52 [] BPM RAMPS 4 120
Tempo Changes to 120 BPM over 4 beats (4 quarter notes).
    5:18 BPM RAMPS variations

    5:51 [] BPM RAMPS 4B 120
Tempo Changes to 120 BPM over 4 bars (4 measures)
6:26 Note: In the version of ClyphX Pro I used making this video, BPM Ramping up X Bars only works properly with time signatures that have a denominator of 4 [won’t work properly in ⅞ for example.
See a workaround solution I have proposed in the ClyphX Pro forums here: forum.nativekontrol.com/thread/3605/ramps-4b-odd-times
6:57 Intro to Action lists: Use Action Lists with ClyphX Pro to trigger multiple actions simultaneously.
7:30 Use a semicolon ; to string together multiple action lists into one X-Clip.
    E.g. [] BPM 130 ; SIG ¾

Hi, I'm trying to figure out to simply display the scene name/ or info on the push2 screen. For instance "song2 - intro no kick"
In the sales videos of clyphx pro they say it can, but i simply don't find how.
Any idea here? Is it also the simple bracket code followed by text?
    Many thanks in advance

Hey Steven! Not sure what you mean - track names appear for me on the push2, maybe send some screenshots? robbieskorge@gmail.com

@@RobbieSko I found it: In the empty clip rename to this:
[] PUSH MSG Displaying the message
(message like hey this is the scene with the fat drop coming in, only cymbals and some noises, could give extra help to memorize)

Do you know how to start a project before measure 1, for example if I wanted a pre-intro but in a way that the rest of the project stays in time and the intro starts on measure 1? Or at least re-label the Beat Time Ruler so that I can have a measure -1 or -2?

Hi sorry for the delay, just seeing this now! I’d recommend starting the whole project at measure 5 in arrangement view, that way you have extra time to add any pre-intro you’d like to in there. Also certain platforms cut off the first second or so of your audio so it’s helpful to have that extra bit of time before your song starts.
For arrangements you’ve already started, you can “insert time” to leave room for your pickup. For example hitting ctrl + i (or command + i) and then selecting however much time you’d like to add at the beginning (for example - 4 measures) then hit enter and you’ll be able to add in your intro in that new space.

Thanks for the reply! The only issue then is that the numbers on the bars get shifted and I have exact bar measurements committed to memory (like this certain part at 64 measures or that part at 144 measures, etc). So it just messes up the whole thing.

+Yuki Ah yes I understand, it’s unfortunate the references can get lost, but I’d recommend you start using locator markers at those points you had memorized and are now slightly off. For example, at measure 64 you could add a locator and call it “Chorus” or whatever the song section is. What’s nice about adding locators is that the vertical line will carry through the whole arrangement, so you’ll see when those important moments come up again, even if the numbers are different now. At the top right of arrangement view you can add a locator, it’s very useful to stay organized with those. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the help! I guess the downside is that it makes the quick maths a bit harder when trying to calculate bars.

@@YukiXK Yes that's true, but since pickups are so common and it's helpful to have that extra space at the beginning anyway (for example if you ever upload your song as part of a video to instagram and export right from the start, they would cut off your fist second and a half), and Ableton's arrangement tends to color code in multiples of 4, that's why I recommend starting at measure 5. Perhaps always make measure 5 your measure 1, that way the math is always minus 4 for what measure you're on. Take a look at the arrangement's vertical lines and you should see that there are different shades every 4 measures. use this to your advantage as it'll make it easier for you to see your 4, 8 ,16, and 32 bar phrases. Let me know if you have any other questions!
