Seconds before he put his guitar volume down, so he could go to the amps act as he turn the volume up but in fact I think he took the pill in hand, after he turns the volume up and and when he sings he does a sign for his left sign for the stage supporters like showing the mic volume need to turn up but he put the pill in the mouth.... I think, if he did, he took long years to stop with drugs not only 2 as I've heard.

on californication tour i saw them in montreal and he fubard the lyrics to otherside. after which they tried to do a funk version of the song and fubard it too. the guy beside me was head banging the whole show until he hit his fucking head on the guard rail (nosebleed seats). then he stopped. flea walked across the stage on his hands. Creio que o "ponto frágil" desse show foi o John. Reparem que Anthony e Flea pareciam preocupados com ele. É possível perceber, em alguns momentos, os olhares dos dois para o guitarrista, com um certo ar de reprovação, provavelmente denotando alguma "decepção". De todos, John parecia ser o menos sóbrio, e estava de fato muito chapado! Ele poderia ter tido uma performance mais digna de seu grande talento...
Acho que nessa época ele ainda era viciado em algumas substâncias ilícitas mesmo voltando de uma reab. Mas pelo que parece nos dias de hoje ele se mantém sóbrio.
