everything followed exactly and the airtag stays right here and never moves though its a mile away

This does not work for a LOT of us. Airtag still stuck 14 miles out of actual position while literally right next to an active Iphone. Something other then the hints suggested in this video is wrong.
johnhenry3536 Bro, Have you turned on Precise location on your iPhone, If it’s already on restart precise location, it can fix the issue.😊

Not working. All these options are already turned on, but my cat’s airtag does not update after leaving home till I turn back.

I think something changed recently. I have airtags that were working 3 months ago, and they would update every 1-2 minutes. Now they haven't updated for over an hour and they show still at home.

Yeah sorry mate. None of your suggestions have helped solve the issue. AirTag fails to update location even with iPhone right along side it.
jimmyhamilton1591 Bro, Sorry to hear the suggestions. If you’re using a iPhone model older than iPhone 12 Pro Max, you might not get the presice Location option, and the AirTags might not work properly.☺️
Ok thanks anyway. My phone’s a 14 Plus. iOS 17.3. I’m suspicious the issue is more to do with Apple’s cloud service & our telco’s 5G network than the phone settings.
My AirTag still doesn’t show exactly location ! 😡

@laocchi Sis, Go to Settings on your iPhone > General > Transfer & Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Location.

@@Fix.369 Dude, I think you're missing something. Your instructions are clear, and my iPhone is set up fine. But something seems to have changed in the last few months with AirTags. I have 2 air tags on some items, and 3 months ago, they were updating ever 1-2 minutes. Now, the items are a mile away and they haven't updated in over an hour. Something changed.
Google "air tag not updating location", and you'll see plenty of discussion on the topic. Hopefully this is just temporary. Because I bought these air tags specifically to be able to track these items.
