So now that the anchor system is complete, it is time to put together the hoop itself and effect it onto the freshly poured concrete. I waited 3 days after pouring to install the hoop, as instructed, to allow the concrete to properly cure. I will say the hardest part of the entire procedure was the backboard install, although the digging / concrete mixing was the most physically demanding. The backboard is just quite heavy and can be awkward to hold while others are installing the fasteners. I hope you have enjoyed these videos, so thanks again for watching! - Навчання та стиль
Thank you for these videos, a HUGE help! Just finished installing the Goaliath 60" In-ground System for my teenaged son. Slamming the 2 poles together was definitely the hardest part, our bottom pole didn't have the bent ends. Ended up using a sledge hammer and some scrap 6x6s for propping and hitting to get it as close to the line as possible. I'm still out a 1/2", but picked up an extra 3/8 x 5" bolt and hardware, drilled and set it right in the middle of the joint. The backboard was fairly heavy for a 1-man carry... I had an 8-ft ladder, placed it in line with the bottom bracket to rest the board it on, my son adjusted the actuator to line it up to the holes and all good. Oh yah, and we had electrical-taped the 4 black washers to the backboard to minimize any issue while up in the air. Read through many of the comments below before making this purchase and was worried about the wobble factor, but this thing is super solid. I'd rate my wobble at a 1/10. Cheers!
Great video and excellent instruction. Two things I want to commend you on. First, you got your neighbor involved only when you really needed his help. You did all the pre-work up to that point and didn’t make your project his as well. I think we’ve all had a five minute need become an all day use because of this. And more importantly, I really like how patient with your daughter you were and allowed her to participate in the build. Teaching lessons at an early age. Good job and can’t wait to build mine.
Thank you for this video. It came in very handy putting the same hoop up for my son's Eagle Project at a local group home.
This was truly a step by step video! Made my life so much easier. Thanks.
Good to hear, that was my goal.
Need to put one up this week. Thanks for the video. Also nice sweatshirt. Coached a little boy in 7th grade football that played for Iowa St. A.J. Klein. Good kid!!!!
@28:15 "Ahh, I'm a professional football player" lol
lmao
Perfect step by step video. It made it much easier to put together. Thank you .
Thank sir! This is the exact instructional video I needed!
Awesome. Just finished mine. Used your video for step by step installation.
Thanks!
Put mine together today, Here is a tip when putting posts together. Use some liquid soap on the top post to make it slide easier. Mine was a breeze
Great video... just bought the Goliath 60in and will be installing in the spring. Very helpful information... much appreciated!
Awesome...enjoy it!
Super Dad. Good job. Just bought this system myself. Starting this morning on it. Wish me luck. I like the idea to fill the pole with concrete. I bought 9 bags of 80lb quickcrete. Do you erect the first section of pole, then fill it? Or fill from top of second section after it is up?
Awesome videos. Thanks a lot! Saved us lots of time!
what if you already put it underground before putting the both poles in and now i cant get the top pole to come to the 6inch mark what do i do?
did you skip the plastic washers between backboard and arms? maybe i'll tape or glue them? that thing is heavy
Awesome Job! One man isn't always easy
Great video and very helpful
great video man
How many hours did the who process take
Thanks for the Video I have a little different backboard size, 50" but watching this Video has help me and my Wife... The best part of this video is right before you sum up the installation you daughter says I'm a Professional Football player as she is dribbling... To cute and to funny.
thank you for your videos!! very helpful.
+69darkchocolate no problem
Great video. I used to have a summer job putting these in. We would assemble the backboard to the pole before anchoring the system. Much easier. Also, we'd dig a distance away from the court/driveway so that the front of the pole is 27" from the edge to maximize on the playing area. The 27" distance ensures the backboard will be aligned with the edge of the court and digging away from the court minimized vibration.
Daniel Hughes thanks I was gonna ask how far back to maximize space👍🏼
Not great if you are trying to play under the rim tho , but I know what you’re saying.
Great video. Helped me bunches to put in my Silverback system that is very similar. Learned a lot. Thank you!!
+David Corey great!!! Thanks!
Good video dude. Thanks.
What if it gets to short and is stuck
So i bought the 9” anchor kit and installed it, when my basketball hoop delivered it doesnt fit, it’s supposed to be 7” anchor kit. Anybody can help me with it ?
Doing the exact install currently. After reading the posts, I'm going to weld the poles together. Gray vid and instructions. Nice YJ! (If it's even yours)
Thanks! Welding them would be great! And the YJ was ours, we no longer have it though.
DID IT COME WITH THE ANCHOR?
Thanks for the video, are you happy with the strurdyness? It looked a bit wobbly in the wind and also when you were shooting at it.
+atomicdog26 the pole is a split pole so it does wobble a little, but much better than cheaper alternatives. If you are looking for a very solid Hoop, go with the goalrilla
How much does it shake? Take a video of shooting shots at it from various distances...
Can you dunk on it and it doesn’t shake?
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome! Thank you for the video.
No problem
Just bought and installed the same hoop. Nice video. How much does your hoop move when shooting from 3 pt distance? Mine shakes a little. Thanks.
Ours also shakes a little, but not too much
Nice Job. I just bought one and picking it up this morning.
Super job
I thought I would die before I got the pole together. I finally gave up and called it good.
Thanks.. its help me a lot..
really dumb question, but where did u find the sticker for the hoop (the 7.5-10ft sticker). we just installed our hoop today and couldn’t find it, any ideas?
I know this is way to late but the sticker was inside the small box that held the hardware. It was kinda stuck inside so easy to miss.
instead of getting on a ladder and hoisting up the backboard, installing rim, etc., would it not be easier to put the entire thing together on the ground and hoist up 100% assembled? thnx
Now you tell me!
nice good stuff..
Great job Dad.
+Michael L thanks!
great video
+Johnny BranMuffin thank you
Hey Geek Smart, thinking about buying the Goaliath 60 but I have a few questions
1. How much does it shake
2.How does it look in driveway
3. How good of quality is it
4. Can you dunk on it
Prolly too late, but it shakes a littlelittle it is dunkable
The quality is good
Can u hang on the rim?
I do not recommend holding back board with just one person on a ladder like this Superman did. Two guys holding it up on ladders while one other person secures the bolts is enough. Otherwise great video!
how much time did you left the cement to cure?
+Fabb Med 3 days
So I just installed this hoop last week. It wobbles after every shot. Was wondering if you have had this same issue?
Thanks!
+Alex Lopez it is a split pole so it does wobble a little. The goalrilla is more stable, but the amount on this Hoop is not bad in my opinion
Thanks!
@@lopez6141 how is this after two years? Still wobbly?
It’s actually doesn’t wobble as much as before. This is a great time to be outside hooping! I really enjoy this hoop! Thanks for checking in!
How much ?
i installed that backboard up there by myself, 1 person..damn i gotta brag about it
Where the hell r the nylon washers my kit doesn’t have #34 skips that number but need them so it doesn’t rust
I ran into this problem today. They are in a separate bag that is not labeled. I thought for sure they weren’t included.
favourite line, "Audrey I'm sure thats my present", at 9:51, to 9:53 in backround.
These kids
although i'm sure that the base weld/construction is really good, pounding it against the ground may note be a good idea.
The instructions literally say to do this step, with a piece of plywood on the ground.
How is the hoop doing? I've been looking into buying this one. Great vidoe
+Kyle 089 very well, except I had someone recently back into it with their vehicle. Thankfully, Goaliath does have replacement parts so I will be fixing it soon. Otherwise, my kids love it!
frustrated with the pole. needs to go one more inch. I have sprayed WD-40 on it and tried everything. any other ideas?
talking about putting the two poles together
Took me a while, had to raise it up as high as i could then it finally went down when I slammed it.
+shirtdog king yes, just hit it several more times, and it will eventually go
Ours is stuck and has about an inch left to go we have done dish soap. WD40. Hitting it with a sledgehammer. Pounding it on the ground as hard as humanly possible. It's not budging!
If anyone wants to assemble the whole at once and then put the net up, you can do so but require 4 people when lifting net back up to the anchor system because of the weight
Like for example, when I installed my net I took the pole off the anchoring kit and attached the backboard to it plus the other things needed. After that Me and 3 other adults centred the net and brought it back up
Going to be ordering my 2 sons the 60" version... You make it look easy...
Todd Vernon its not easy took me forever
Ahmed Yobi I bought it Thanksgiving nite for 499.99 on sale for the 60" backboard version. Got it all installed in a week, with my dad.
My 2 sons and I love it....
@@32toddv how is it in terms of wobbliness? On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being a portable hoop and a 10 being a high school gym wall mounted one?
Has the goal lossened up any. Any issues over time?
Is this the 54 or the 60??
54
im about to install same one. oh boy. lol
Is it possible to hang on this hoop?
I wouldn't recommend it
How do i make it so the hoop dosen't shake
The best way is to fill the pole. I have not done this yet, but you can fill it with concrete and it will stop any shake.
Yeah, thats what my parents did when I was a kid, made the pole stiff as could be.
awesome!
I fill my pole with blood and it gets pretty stiff.
@@gregbrady8454 smh
your daughter reminds me of mine always gotta tell you what too do like were idiots DAD!!!lol
Thanks for video
+Peter Cheddar thanks for watching and supporting!
Always MUCH easier to put pads on backboard Before installing it and ALWAYS hook backboard up to pole before erecting it (then add rim). Two people can easily do this.
28:17 I’m a professional football player 😂
🤣
sure seems wobbly....no?
Not too bad. The solid pole units wobble less, but I am happy with it
I liked you until I saw that sweatshirt!! Go Hawkeyes!!!! haha
No comment..haha
Right next to the traffic lol
Wearing shoes is a better idea 💡
lmfao wrong sport 28:16
I have a better way ,
