A humorous spoof of Shakespear's A Midsummer Night's Dream (Act V Scene I), in which John portrayed the beauteous lady "Thisbe", Paul "Pyramus", George "Moonshine" and Ringo "Lion", all attired in costume. Apart from this, John, Paul and George were seen at the very start of the show, miming a trumpet fanfare.

If you guys thought that Paul improvised that then you're as dim-witted as Bottom; that was all in the script. The mechanicals thought that having death would frighten the ladies, as they would've thought it was real, and not just a play.
First off, it's rather pretentious to call someone dim-witted for not knowing what you do beforehand. Even if Jesselyn and I had known that before hand, I still would probably say that Paul's way of comforting the girls was sweet, and I really don't think we're stupid for thinking that. As fascinating as I find your knowledge of the play to be, please don't go insulting people for not knowing what you do.

This is being done in the style of Shakespeare's day. They had hecklers back then, and the actors had to play around them, so this performance is rather authentic.
And men had to play the women's parts too
i‘m pretty sure the hecklers are actually part of the original script, since pyramus & thisbe is a play within a play (part of a midsummer night’s dream)

The 4 of them were funny. When i first saw it, i was crackin up on some scenes. Especially wen John comes dancing or jumping up or down. Even when Paul tried calling John, he was like "What!" Itz was also funny when he said "Shut up!". Ringo was funny too wen he roared so low. Even George too. He's trying 2 say a line and the audience would be like what and george had 2 say it all loud about it. I like the part where john opens like pretending to open the door and he screams as Ringo jumps up

I am glad I found this skit. I have been waiting for it since 1965 when I saw a picture of it in Sixteen Magazine, if I remember well. Loved it. Really funny. The Beatles could do anything in such a happy way. Beatles forever. By the way, I wonder why people keep on writing Paul is dead when everybody knows that invented stgory was only a way to show how people can be manipulated.

I laughed so hard I nearly suffocated. This is the best version of Pyramus and Thisbe I've ever seen. I took a Shakespeare class in 1982. We had to bring in crafts (props, posters, etc). Oh God, if I could have brought this!!
