If the goal is to just get publicity, and not actually be a good wrestling promotion, than it proves that Tony Khan has no idea what he's doing. So what if it gets views (on UA-cam)? It's not increasing overall viewership each episode, or helping increase ticket sales.

Its a bad sign when the a wrestling company is willing to stand behind a person saying if you want storytelling go see a movie. Storytelling is more then half the reason we watch. Without storytelling its just a bunch of men without pants fighting over a belt.
Congratulations you just learned how sports work apparently. Wrestling is just as much a sport as it is about telling any kind of story. Yes stories are important here but to act like it's unacceptable to ever just have a match without the need for some unnecessarily deep story is just ridiculous. I don't always need the story sometimes the story of these 2 people are fighting over a belt they really want is perfectly fine cause it works perfectly fine for any other sport that's ever existed.
