It took a lot longer than we anticipated, but Release 2 of Project '06 is now available for you to download from ChaosX's channel! ua-cam.com/video/fXF--sJ1Gxc/v-deo.html We hope you all enjoy and be sure to leave us any feedback you may have!
It may have been 15 years since I played the original, but I knew I wasn't tripping when I heard some dialogue in the stages. It's insane how much polish the demo was given. Feels so official and adds alot of charm. I really appreciate the work done to create this experience.
Thanks to the returned phrases from P-06, I realized that a lot more phrases were recorded for 06, and even half of them are in the game. Many thanks to ChaosX for trying so hard for all the fans of this game, and thanks to you and other people who help ChaosX, it will be much easier for him to create this game.
So this is why the "let's get moving"s were reduced. Kinda sad about it lol, but considering they've being replaced with a ton of new unused clips, it's definitely for the better
As someone who played 06 religiously as a kid, I still remember just about every piece of dialogue in each level. So seeing this project come to life has been a treat for the eyes _and_ the ears And it looks likr I have you to thank for the latter Thank you, it really makes it feel like brand new experience for me, and that's more special than you know
Man, it looks like you worked your ass off with this. Dealing with those mislabeled files and whatnot must have been a nightmare, haha. I'm very thankful for all of the work that the P-06 team has done!
I come from the future to personally thank you for, yes, the dialogue restoration and how much it adds to Shadow’s story. But more specifically, I want to thank you for the new effect on Omega’s voice that makes him sound more like himself. It’s the little things like this that make this project so good 😊
Oh true! I didn't even think about it, but yeah (given he was the one sentence mixing tutorial dialogue, it makes he would've been the one responsible for Omega's new voice filter.
Absolutely excellent work, especially on the snipped dialogue for move changes. I had no idea it was spliced! Thank you so much for contributing to this awesome project, and I can’t wait to see what you and ChaosX have in store in the next P-06 Demo!
you, chaos, and everyone else who's worked on the project are doing an amazing job!!! i LOVE the added voice clips! the characters feel alive, even outside the cutscenes!! wonderful! love it when games are able to do that!! also, seeing shadow's updated fur during the "don't be late" scene here just... OOH i can't wait to see what you've done with shadow!!!
your reply is very unrelated to what i said but to calm you down, the developer of the game has said in the past that shadow will indeed have a spindash.
Goes to show that you dont need to work for a rich company to produce amazing works, nor have and insane budget to make a game with this level of quality, official like quality. Once again shows that a few comited, talented people can reach these highs when you have love for what you do. Trully a game made by gamers to gamers. This game when released had insane amounts of people with huge expectations, only to be left as one of Segas biggest disapointments. But this remake trully revives what the game could and should have been. If you scrap the plot, just by the quality and amazing graphics, this game can thrash most Sonic 3D games released in recent years. Much love and apreciation for what you, Chaosx and everyone involved in this project have done so far. Realy excited for whats coming next.
Even though the next release is going to be focused around Shadow, I can see several little details in Sonic's gameplay that are changed from 3.5. The auto-run around the building in Crisis City has a cinematic camera, the camera turns to show the door opening at the end of Aquatic Base section 1, the "battle camera" is used in a lot more places then before such as Knuckles section in Aquatic Base, and the rail switching mechanics have changed. Whereas before it worked like Colors with using the stick to switch, now Sonic leans to the side when holding and you jump to change rails. As long as there is no rail switching jank like with SA2 and Heroes, I am perfectly fine with that change.
Learning about the lost dialogue has been very useful for me. I'm writing an 06 fanfic that's half novelization and half total rewrite, and I'm using the dialogue being discussed in this video to expand upon existing lines from the game and to include information that's entirely missing. Now, if only there were lines pertaining to Metal Sonic, since he was planned to be in the game early on. But then again, he must have also been scrapped early to not have any known information left in the game. I wonder what he was supposed to do in the story?
This is going to be such an amazing game when it's complete! I'm glad that ChaosX has got more help too, I can't even imagine how much work is needed to create something this big.
8:40 Holy crap the lighting of that scene looks so much better than in 3.5, Shadow looks so much better. Is this something Demo 4 might include when it comes out? Because if so, god damn ChaosX improved it so much already.
I really like the development of p06 behind the scenes. Really good vid. Quick suggestion: maybe use Shadow’s “Let’s get moving!” line as an idle line.
Don't worry, that line is still going to be used in a couple of situations where he's running really fast (as was the intention). We'll just be reducing how many times it's played throughout Shadow's campaign.
@@LostImpactProd I love that line : D But i love that you put much effort in improving the gameplay. Imagine if this was released as "Sonic 2006 Definitive Edition" that would be so cool! If SEGA ever was interested and all!
P-06 looks amazing and plays great. and all the dialoge is what makes the game feel alive and more fun. i never play sonic 06 originally, so thank u so much for working so hard to get this out!
MAN, THIS IS AWESOME!! I love you guys and I love the fan community. Thanks so much for the attention to detail and pure love and dedication put into making this game reach its full potential. Y'all are geniuses.
Ah, so it was you who helped with the extra dialogue! Gotta say, I really appreciated the extra attention to detail. Glad you're on the project. Truly amazing work! Made playing through the latest build all the more enjoyable. Just curious, was it you who decided to add the "Jump now!" in Tails' Wave Ocean right as the rocks collapsed? Because I have to say, that was truly brilliant! The timing in the moment was perfect!
thanks to you're efforts and contribution to the product, my new fav line is "Here comes a billboard" lmaoo "Shadow, don't be late" - Sonic's story, crisis city intro "Eggman arghh, I gotta go help out the train"
I've never played the original Sonic 06 but heard how broken and rushed it is, Project 06 will be my first time with the game and man is it AWESOME hearing all the ways it's been turned into it's best possible form, with the combined work of you and ChaosX I'm guessing the gameplay-experience character & storywise will be incredible with the restored voicelines! and an added bonus of the voice actors'/cast's work no longer lost and gone to waste.
AH, I had wondered why some of the duke's hints sounded a tiny bit off when he said what button did what. Makes sense, seamless audio mixing is so precise, I can't imagine having to do so many clips
Actually, since the Japanese voice clips use mostly the same codenames as the English ones, adding my suggestions to the Japanese voice track was pretty straightforward. The only thing we can't do is sentence-mix dialogue to reflect button input changes, due the language barrier and all.
Imagine Sega approving this and makes this an official game! For not only PC, but for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and...Nintendo Switch (since 06 was supposed to be on Wii as well, but never got into a Nintendo console)
Yeah, what happened was that the intended Wii port for '06 was repurposed into Secret Rings, and that also hurt both games because the development team was split in half to work on the separate games.
thank you. SO. MUCH for the work that you do for this project. when i was playing this, i find that instead of simply adding in voice lines to this project, you actually breathed in new life to the characters and their personalities for when it was the right time to do so. i can say with confidence that you did an incredible job at doing so. if you ever feel like you need to take a break at any time during the development process, please do so. thankfully, as a fangame project, it has to deadline :)
I've played Sonic 06 for as long as I can remember. My dad handed down an xbox 360 to me in 2008 and one of those games was 06. I was like 6 at the time and didn't know what a glitch was... I've played the game for so many years and have a guilty pleasure with it to the point i've fully 100%ed the game with achievements and silver medals. You should also know I get ecstatic whenever something new about 06 development is unearthed.
You have done an amazing job restoring the unused voice clips into the game. I'm pretty excited to see Project '06 fully complete someday in the future. (And maybe become official with Sega and ported to consoles.)👍
This takes me back to high school where I was the only one openly defending this game because I loved, and still love, it so much! I'm beyond glad to see this game get the fan support it deserves after all these years! Thank you ChaosX, Lost Impact Productions and everyone else who has contributed to this amazing project!
That was pretty nice! I love the addition of new voice clips. Last demo, I expected Shadow to have a section in Sonic s Crisis City... but I guess it was too complicated. Hopefully in the future. Oh and cant wait to try Shadow, Rouge and Omega in the next demo!
This game would've came out later in 2007 if the publishing company didn't rushed it's gaming production, heck it would've been playable on Wii.😔 But at least the PC version salvaged it's legacy.😁
Wouldn't it be easy to use some AI voice acting in so little hints, events, and other stuff. I know none of those AI do it well but if there is a voice you need and the unused does not have, a AI voice could fix that issue, because for me as a mega fan of P-06 I want to let the game know that there are new moves in the game like Tail's tail swipe ability. This is just an idea and I see it stupid but is just to make P-06 more perfect than it already is. Great job either way.
If only Sega put in this much effort into their actual games, you guys are doing such a fantastic job and actually manage to fix this mess of a game, I can't wait till the finish product and after this take a good long break:)
It’s crazy to think that all this extra dialogue was unused from the original game. I always thought ChaosX just got voice actors who legit sounded EXACTLY like the original cast to do the extra voice clips.

Questions regarding the Silver Release: 1) what was the amount of restored dialogue unused in 2006 version 2) Blaze has some idle dialogue, in Flame core beginning when she us playable. Was she then supposed to be playable in original version in that stage?
In terms of restoring dialogue and reorganising voice clip placements, yes, we have done it for both languages. Splicing/re-editing Japanese clips to reflect control changes was out of our reach though due to the language barrier.
@@LostImpactProd I suggest reaching out to Windii Gitlord on UA-cam or Twitter to see if she can help you guys out with the Japanese audio side of the project down the line. She's provided translations of Japanese dialogue for various Sonic games in the past. She may even be able to help ChaosX make a secondary English subtitle track that matches up to the Japanese dialogue more accurately; like the re-translation mods for SADX and SA2 on PC. Sega themselves have been doing something similar with other games such as Judgment and Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
I wonder if it’s possible to find the original dialogue recordings of Princess Elise’s original voice actress Veronica Taylor. No offense, but I didn’t like Lacey Chabert’s performance of Elise. In the stage of Tropical Jungle you can hear a clip of Veronica’s voice for a few seconds. I’m really excited for the fan PC mod remake from P-06 that is in development, and I hope if it’s possible to replace Lacey’s voice recordings with Veronica’s. If not, then I’ll just stick to the Japanese dub.
@@sambridgers9543 Veronica Taylor was the original voice actress for Elise before she got replaced by Lacey Chabert. Veronica even finished all her recordings too unfortunately until she was replaced.
@@gamelordabd I thought that Windii only provided the Japanese cutscenes, with other people providing the translation.
I don't wanna be that guy, but this really is the most exciting thing from 3D Sonic I expect, and I don't really like 06.
Didnt they use the unused cutscenes as well?
You've done an awesome job on P-06! One question, did you or ChaosX run into any notable difficulties with the Japanese voice clips?
8:47 Did that Orca just clips through a rock mountain?
You're a god.
Sneak peaks!
Did Veronica originally voice Elise? I did not know that.
@@sambridgers9543 Veronica Taylor was the original voice actress for Elise before she got replaced by Lacey Chabert. Veronica even finished all her recordings too unfortunately until she was replaced.
Here is the original opening cinematic with extra scenes and with Veronica’s voice.
