"Darlene" should be and would be a great spin off.
I'm not a Trump fan at all. But the original Roseanne was a brilliant show and one of the funniest sitcoms of all time. It was also the first show to show what it was like to grow up, as I did, in a struggling working class family -- the good, the bad, the ups, the downs. I don't care if Roseanne supports Trump now. If the reboot is even half as good as the original, it will be one of the best things on television.
Same here. And the reboot IS good, IMO. Can't stand Trump but the new show does a great job of highlight modern issues in a normal American working-class family. It's relevant. It's still snarky and (to me at least), still funny. Even the Trump bits are funny; they do take sideswipes at him and his policies, you can see it in the show. Just like they take shots at the lib/Hillary side too. It's not overly skewed one way or the other.
A good balance.

I believe they said they’re going to ignore the original ending...in the trailer they kind of poked fun of dan dying in the original
Dan having the affair and leaving Roseanne "was the book" to help her deal with his death, from what I've read they're doing as itsharmen mentioned and completely ignoring the original ending - their way of poking fun at it was actually pretty funny.
The show was fucking stupid back in the day so it really doesn't matter that they will ignore his death.Nobody gonna watch it anyway.Hell i won't watch ABC again until they cancel it

I am not sure if it is widely known, but the actor that played Mark, Glen Quinn, passed away some time ago, which was crushing to hear. If you've ever heard him in an interview, which I don't believe he did a lot of, then you can see just how good of an actor he was playing Mark! I wonder who they will get to play him?

SPOILERS (although I got this off a news article): One is playing Beckie and one is playing a new character who is asking Becky to be her surrogate.
The second Becky is going to be on, but a different character. There was a show about Roseanne a week or so ago that interviewed all the cast members, including both Beckys

I think the new show will be good. Glad they got everyone back. So many from the cast have gone on and become great actors. Laurie Metcalf, for one, nearly stole the show with her performance in Horace and Pete.
She was amazing in Lady Bird as well. Classy actor all around.

Watch it and put money in her pocket? Hell no. Puzzling too is that Sara is a lesbian and I would think with Trump's anti-LGBT stance, that she would not have Rosanne anywhere near her. Rosanne straight up endorses someone that hates Sara and is actively doing whatever he can to strip her of all her rights. Fuck that.

I watched and loved the show 'Roseanne' during its original run, but I had no idea how brilliant the writing was until I had my own children. I have two daughters, two years apart, and they mirror the Conner sisters so consistently that I am in perpetual awe over the similarities.
I loathe Trump and every gross thing about him. It kind of depresses me that this reboot is going to focus on that current aspect of American culture. Oh well, I just hope it's funny. If it isn't there are like 50 thousand more things to watch these days, as compared to the time of Rosanne's earlier incarnation, and if it sucks, it will just be swept under the rug with the rest of the terrible hollywood reboot decisions :)
