- This new "front flipper" knife is interesting but has some seriously strange desig n features and is not for everyone!!
First, the positives;
The PVD coated 14c28n blade is well heat treated quality steel. Holds a nice edge and is easy to sharpen.
The micarta handle is shaped very ergonomically and feels sturdy in the hand.
The lockup has no play whatsoever and feels very tough and strong.
The thumb studs are snappy and deploy the blade reliably.
NOW FOR THE NEGATIVES!!;
This is not a user friendly knife by any means. It is very hard to deploy the blade with it's rough action. The ceramic bearings are housed by plastic washers that make the knifes action feel rough and grindy.
For a knife called The Rhino, the "front flipper" tab is extremely short and stubby and makes front flipping the blade dangerous and nearly impossible to do safely and reliably. Thumb studs only for this one.
The button lock does absolutely NOTHING to deploy the closed blade. Its only function is to unlock and close from the already open position. Apparently this is some sort of "safety button locking" system they created in response to the demand that absolutely nobody created, rather than the massive design flaw it realistically feels like.
It takes some getting used to. That's for sure. I'll update you guys on this one soon.

The button lock on this knife is designed that way, so it's not because it can't be opened. We will replace the new button lock in the next batch
I realized halfway through the video that the function was intentional. 😅😅 Very interesting design. It caught me way off guard. I will have to make another video explaining the feature in detail now that I understand it better. I can’t wait to see the next batch. It definitely feels strong when locked open, and the blade stock is great. Hopefully I will get to see some more remette knives in my mailbox soon!! Thanks for commenting ❤

@@remetterhino Of course. I will have to make a better video explaining the Rhino’s lock system now that I understand it better. I think you guys deserve better than this. In fact, I may even end up removing this video to replace it with a more accurate one in the future. I am also eager to try the “Steed” and the “WD107” models as well in the future (when I am finally able to afford them 😅).
