    Thanks for the video! I am loving every single second of this car and I wanted to say that I also really enjoyed meeting you guys and the whole experience of buying the car from 911virgin. Collection day will live long in the memory!!

      Thanks so much for the kind words, it genuinely means the world to us. Everyone in the team tries very hard and goes the extra mile so it's nice to know people appreciate it. Enjoy the car and never stop being amazed by the roof. On a personal note thanks so much for buying it, you saved me a fortune. Mrs 911virgin has always said she fancied a 991 Targa and we managed to get your deposit before she saw it !!! It cost me being nice to her for a week but I can live with that.

      Thanks. It is a very different set up to the previous incarnations.

    Having done some research I think these specific 991.1 Gen 1 Targa GTS's are the modern cars to park your cash into if you want to follow that emotion of owning something quite beautifully unique and a bit of “Oh mon dieu, c’est trop mignon! I think they were in production only from 2015-2016. Which is making them exceptionally rare. If I am not mistaken as rare if not more so than the Anniversary 50th in its GTS form. After 2016 came the end of the N/A engine. Which despite being more powerful has less panache with no symphony behind head!. The fire breathing dragon almost silenced!! the schoolboy thrills muted......this model that Henry is talking about is the last of the N/A type and the type you really want to try and source if you find a good exampled one!!!....goodluck!......))) thanks guys from Virgin 911 nice choice of modern classic!....

      It's been a bit slow of late. Other jobs keep jumping ahead in the paintshop queue. Ultimately we have to feed the sales department. The engine in back together and there is a video to be made showing what internal work was done. Some interesting processes and machines in the engineering shop to discuss / show. A few of the ancillary components have been given a bit of love but we need to attack the suspension. ultimately we need to get the bodyshell painted up and then start building up. We will pop the gearbox apart as well with Steve at Jaz to discuss that.

    Thanks for the video. Really like the targa, but always been put off by reviews saying that there is a swirling wind effect and the weight dulling the handling and performance. Doesn’t sound like you share the concerns though.

      Ultimately someone wanting the purest drive possible won't be buying any form of convertible 911, they will be looking for a very specific car. This is aimed at people who want to get the roof off and accept any consequences however small.

    The "transformer" Porsche! Lol
    Pretty neat.
    I just wonder how long the seals and mechanism will hold up?
    I noticed it has the center lock wheels. I'd be really leary of those. They are torqued to about 700 foot ponds so road side assistance is not going to be able to fix a flat tyre for you.
    Still, it's a beautiful car!

    • @911virgin8
      @911virgin8  3 роки тому +1

      I think you've got to give Porsche the benefit of doubt on the mechanism, they are pretty clever sticks when it comes to this kind of thing and have a decent track record.
      As for the center lock wheels, they've been around a long time now and we are very familiar with them. Like any decent Porsche specialist we have the lorry torque wrench :-)
      These days no one is going to be able to fix a roadside flat for you because your Porsche doesn't have a spare wheel. It comes with a can of tyre jizz designed to seal small leaks. Anything major then it's recover the car to a tyre shop time.

    Hi! Great video! I’m doing a project on an 1987 targa, and i saw one in your 3.2 carrera video. Could you do a complete review of that targa? I think it was red.

      Thanks for the support. I am clearly not a UA-cam marketing guru !!
      We don't run advertising because I think it spoils the viewer's experience, it might be the as a result UA-cam are less likely to promote our videos. Naively I actually thought the opposite might be true but it would mean YT making less money so who knows?

    Any sensors that would avoid damaging the Targa top if you were backed too close to a wall?

    • @911virgin8
      @911virgin8  3 роки тому +2

      No, certainly nothing to stop you touching the wall, I don't know if there is anything to prevent damage. I guess the answer is not to operate the roof when backed tight up against a wall or in limited headroom.

    What’s happening with the 964?

    • @911virgin8
      @911virgin8  3 роки тому

      We've been really busy on the sales front so as always personal jobs get relegated unfortunately. The engine is now back together so there's a video due showing machining works etc. I have also had a few ancillary components refurbished but we need to crack on with the body re-paint.

      Easier to get people in the back of a 911 than a Boxster or a Cayman.... In fairness even the front seat passengers benefit from the pack of wind whipping back into the cabin.

    • @wernerdanler2742
      @wernerdanler2742 3 роки тому

      @@911virgin8 haha, you're funny! The Boxter and Cayman have no back seat and the 911 only has them to give a wink and a nod to the insurance boys.
