I have 2 Corriente association saddles and they have been great for the last 12 years. Fit my horses great and very comfortable for me. Brush on some neatsfoot oil to get a nice dark color
Ok i love your friends saddle and also, i NEVER thought about using a half pad under a western saddle. That’s BRILLIANT! Definitely will be ordering fron corriente and potentially getting a half pad for my friends shark fin gelding that I occasionally ride!
Man I’ve never contemplated a buy so hard, they are beautiful saddles and a bargain, but I’m terrified that it’ll be an ill fit for my horse. Really wish there was a way for companies to ship out trees and let us see if the fit will be right.
Yes ma’am 100% agree with you, let me Put you onto a extremely good and better priced saddle than these, look up ruffs saddlery in Umatilla florida, Johnny ruff has been hand making those saddles for 100 years it seems and he is the real deal, I’ll be picking one up very soon. @@floridafenceland1137 I so wish he had a website I could peruse!! Unfortunately I live in SW Texas. I may just have to bite the bullet and find a saddle maker/fitter somewhere near me, but I know that’s gonna be a pretty penny. Thanks for your helpful info!
Yes ma’am he does have a fb, and you could call him and he can talk to You about everything he ships all over the world, worth checking out in my Opinion, he’s very affordable
@@floridafenceland1137 well shoot alright I will have to give him a call then! I called a saddle maker near me a few days ago and he recommended a treeless saddle instead of helping me find something that fits... lol. Thanks again!
Have you done a riding review? Has your buddy done a review? Great review but would lie to see in action.. I’m torn between the rough out and smooth out, how are they wearing?
Neither of us have.. but my buddy is still riding his everyday and I have since sold mine, to buy another corriente that fits my horse a little better, we have both very happy and don’t have any wearing issues or anything still very solid
Is the half pad a custom made shape? I’ve got an English shaped gel half pad covered with sheepskin under my saddle. It raises the saddle up quite a bit but seems to fill in any gaps between the saddle and the blanket
Just kinda curious. I just bought a saddle like yours (the top one) it’s an association. It looks like the horn is the same. How did you find it held up with roping? Is an association saddle tough?
@@floridafenceland1137 it’s made by Rico’s saddle shop. Made in Greenville Texas. The guy who makes the saddle is apparently related to billy cook and he learned how to make saddles from him! I’ve heard some good things! So I figured I would give it a shot!
They are pretty flexible, and no you have to twist them yourself, I just soaked them in water and then twisted them with a piece of wood in the stirrups and left them for a few days and they’ve been great after that
I don’t remember! I’m sorry! But I actually don’t use it anymore, it’s started to make My horse sore so I ended up buying a weaver synergy pad that had a slight build up in the front and it works great!

I just recently picked up another one that’s older and fits my horse better, check that video out on my page I think you’d like that saddle

Please do a riding review very beautiful saddle love to know how it feels whe it’s on the horse
Okay I will put it in the schedule thanks for watching!
Second rigging is in skirt. Thank you for the helpful review. Please post a riding review.
Yes that’s what I was looking for! I remembered after I filmed it lol and yes sir I think I am planning on it! Thanks for the feedback!
Gonna order a Corriente this year..thanks for the video
No problem!
Looks good! I'm looking at one of their RC saddles, but I want to make sure it's a good choice for me.
Yeah it’s hard without seein them in person and feeling them, but I definitely like the 2 I have had

How is the saddle holding up?
Good review! Why did you sell your Wade saddle?
Thank you! The wade saddle wasn’t my favorite, have a hard time riding without swells lol
The wade saddle was better
Judging by your name I could see why you think that
I guess everyone has different opinions
Cousin just bought one pretty much like yours. I am thinking about the same. Let me know if you have any issues.
Been great so far no complaints besides color isn’t what I wanted but it’s a solid rig
Hey Casey just checking back in, still enjoying this saddle, and no issues yet
@@floridafenceland1137 great. Thanks for getting back to me. Thinking about buying this coming year.
I am looking at almost the same model as your friends saddle. How does he like it? Has it held up?
Can you, give the brand of the half pad? Thanks
I believe it was a diamond wool!
What brand is the half pad? Thank you!
Did you get the sheepskin or synthetic pad on either saddle
Synthetic wool! Still in great shape after use!

Just kinda curious. I just bought a saddle like yours (the top one) it’s an association. It looks like the horn is the same. How did you find it held up with roping? Is an association saddle tough?
The association is a really tough tree and the rawhide around the horn does wear a little bit just keep it wrapped and it should be alright!
@@floridafenceland1137 sweet! I’m super pumped to start roping with it. I haven’t had time to take it out but I’ve got plans for Thursday! Haha

Usually anything out of Texas is pretty good, you’ll definitely have to let me know how it is
What is the make of that half pad?
How flexible are the fenders? Do they come with the blevins buckle turned the correct way?

What is list price on them?
Mine was 890.00 with shipping
Thank you
How much does this saddle weigh?
With nothing on it just a bare saddle I believe the shipping weight was 40 pounds, rigged up I believe it to be 55-60 pounds
seat looks lumpy
Seemed ok, I sold it now tho
Where did you get that half pad and what did it cost?
I got it from a friend, but they are online for like 60-70$
The Diesel Ranch - do you have the make of the half pad. I need to do the same thing for one of my horses.
