Most Nepali don’t know this festival because majority of Nepali don’t celebrate Losar. It’s small percentage of ethnic Tibetans in Nepal, such as Sherpa, Gurung, Tamang that celebrate this festival. ❤
In Nepal, Dashain and Tihar is major auspicious festival. If you guys are still in Nepal, I hope you get to experience holi which is today which is also largely celebrated.
@@khom3940 pershap Newar cuz I actually read that Newar are the first inhabitants around Kathmandu and surrounding areas in Nepal and I also believe that Newars is like the most important community of Nepal.. but unfortunately I have seen people from other part of Nepal have this hate against Newar for whatever reasons idk.
@@anyone61 newar is more than just ethnicity if u dwell deep into their history. U can find newar of both Aryaan and mongoloid facial features and religiously both Hinduism and Buddhism, they r diverse within, newar from outskirt of valley jyapus have have their dialects with some similarities with Tamang. Also only kathmandu and surrounding regions was Nepal before gorkha kingdom under prithvi narayan shah went for unification campaign and made Nepal as of now. Kathmandu valley then Nepal was ruled by kirat dynasty for thousands of year. Kirat are native and indigenous tribes of Nepal. All ethnicity in present Nepal are natives of their own respective regions and very unique and distinct, only linguistically they r categorised as Tibeto Burman, sino Tibetan, but that doesn’t mean they r of Tibetan ethnic.

In Nepal, we celebrate 4 new years - Bikram sambat: Nepali new year - Lhosar - Newari New year or Nhyu daya bhintinu - AD: the universal cristian new year
Dont confuse lohsaar is one of the caste group festival of nepal. 1/10 only familiar with the this culture in nepal. Im from nepal too and i dont know anything about this culture 🤪

We understood that but we were able so happy to see how many people from different ethnic backgrounds came to the park to celebrate together
