I love Knee banded barbell hip thrusts. Maximal glute activation, no passive stretch which efffectivly turns the glute off, check out Bret contreras research on hip thrusts and the torque curve and activation of the glute.
Back in the day men would not even think of working out their butt at the gym, that was a girl or gay thing. It's amazing these guys have now sort of come out of the closet to show that glutes are muscles, just like any other muscle in the body. It is all about balance, being faster and strengthen your lower back to avoid pain. Congrats and thanks for sharing!
Saw glute bridge demo from Robb Wolf video. In it, Doug mentioned getting Bret Contreras on the show. This would've been the perfect episode for him, haha. I'm sure many people would love to see you guys talk with him and pick his brain about the glutes and training them.
mskelseypeters For me deadlift lockouts above the knee ain't doing shit. My max dl is about 180kg and I can do like sets of 10 with 200kg easily. Its just too partial range of motion.
Kinda having a hard time understanding the favorite exercises for glutes Chris and Doug mention around 13:00 mark of the video, Doug mentioned something split squat??? If anyone can clarify what exercises they both mentioned it would be great
can someone pls write the first exarcise named from the red short guy (in the question what is your favourite glutes exercise), it s at 13:10 I m not the best in english :P
+Luca Della Sciucca I only speak English, and I had to listen to it multiple times to catch what he was saying. I believe he is saying rear foot elevated split squats.
I've come to love and rely on BBS but I just got squirrelly and looked our up our protagonists on the leaderboard and I gather none of you did the open!?! How can I asses the validity of your suggestions if I can't see see your own results?
So are you saying that their needs to be a kind of hip/ ass forward at the end of a squat? It would be really great if you could repeat the demos above in a slower motion and with shorts or something where the differences are clear. I'm new to the podcasts here and sometimes it seems you guys assume everyone knows what you are talking about so you guys go rapid fire. I love the energy bro, just would love things, especially demos, a bit slower. I've been lifting for a few years and I want to catch all the nuances you are talking about.
Ever thought about doing an episode with Gym Jones's Rob McDonald, guys? I'm sure it would pretty awesome. Someone actually asked him on Twitter about you and he was pretty excited from the possibility of doing a podcast with you.
Great episodes dudes! I've always had a big ass (played hockey most of my life (goalie), you can tell a hockey player by a big ass and wide shoulders)). But ya love squats! My ass gets noticed a lot to be honest.

"If you do it right, you're gonna hammer that ass" - Mike Bledsoe. Cut and print, we're wrapped. lol.

Quarter squats. MIND BLOWN. I've done deadlift lockouts from above the knee, but I never thought to do that with the squat. Silly. Thanks!

In my phone also doesn't work but in my pc it's ok
What's the intro song?
Paul Walker not sure the exact song name, but the band is Torche
What if you deadlift more than u squat and u use your hams for everything? doing the barbell test later today hopefully it doesn't pass my butt. lol
I think Im going to get a kickstarter going to raise funds for Mike. If we all chip in we can get him some shades that don't have white frames.
hilarious video

Is it just me or does Doug wear the red deadlift shirt in every episode?

Doug's hair looks like a ski-slope

The guy in tbe red sure has alot of knowledge about building muscle for having none on his own body.
I didn't know these guys were Bi until now!
eat a lot of food, whether you are lifting or not, it will work.
they need to edit out all that bs talk and stick to the topic of the video!
