So many modern builds try to mimic the midcentury style and get it completely wrong. They just create boxy monochrome houses. This is quite the exception. Beautiful on all levels!
Beautiful! If I didn’t know this was a new build I would’ve sworn it was a 1960’s build. My hat’s off to you all and the architect for staying true to the mid-century modern look.
As someone who lives in an original post and beam style home, I have to say that I'm impressed! Sean, Geri, and everyone in their corner have done an exceptional job capturing the spirit of it. I wish we could see more of this these days.
This is a faithful modern-old design, I could barely believe it was only 3 years old, hats off to you, amazing job capturing and creating the essence of modernism
Such gorgeous materials, proportions, everything! The T&G ceiling, the post and beam cantilever, the clerestory windows! And so well curated, honestly I’m in awe
Being a designer myself, I couldn’t be more happier knowing about this project and the wonderful people who worked behind it tirelessly to make it a reality. This is what sustainable and eco-friendly (Pocket friendly too) living is all about. Being in a calm and quiet neighbourhood and be able to live in a simple yet timeless house like this is nothing short of bliss for me. You can always live in the city in a penthouse and feed half your monthly and lifetime earnings purchasing and maintaining it, but only to over look a busy city from a soap box up in the air and all you find looking down are people who doesn’t wanna care about each other, talk to each other or even get to know each other unless it is for their own benefit and making money. Tranquil living is something that’s beyond the wide world of being rich or spending a ton to living posh. Well done…
What a fantastic result: beautiful proportions, materials and aspect, and nothing overdone or ostentatious, with a wonderful collection of furniture and artworks that belong in the space and don't make it feel like a museum piece. Inspiring, thank you.
You have a beautiful home, it reminds me of the Stahl house in LA. Putting an L shaped pool along the L shaped home makes it feel grand. Y’all have an instant masterpiece!!!
This house is beautiful! So refreshing to see this in new construction builds. A little extra effort designing a proper house! If the owner hadn't said anything, you wouldn't know it was new construction.
So inspiring! And I was thrilled to see one of Ruth Asawa’s wire sculptures hanging in such a perfect space! Years ago I helped organize an exhibition of her work in San Francisco, and spending time with her incredible sculptures and working with her son Xavier was a highlight of my career. What a stunning home!!
Beautiful houses, Beautifully filmed and edited and the people talking about their passions for architecture and their house is just so soothing. I will never reach houses pictured in this channel but it´s so fun looking at and it gives you ideas of what you can do within the confine of your own limitation.
Truly a 10/10 story, design and build; everything is correctly proportional and the furnishings are perfect. Congratulations to the couple. I won’t lie, I am jealous that you can moped over to the break to surf (something I miss so much)-snowboarding out of my house is epic… but lacks the daily salt for the soul. Congrats again.
This place is breathtaking. It amazes me that more people don't take to mid-century bungalows. This style of living is so in tune with human nature. Also, a fantastic design to grow old in because of the lack of multiple levels.
Fantastic build with such thoughtful and appropriate design choices to stand the test of time, to include the furnishings of course. I’m really into a home on the smaller side with function as the goal. Stunning.
What’s nice here is the house actually appears as if it was made 70 years ago, even down to how the kitchen is designed. Back in the day, kitchens were not the place to “hangout”. The benefit to this house being built in the 2020s is you get all the modern electrical, insulation, and windows that you couldn’t get 70 years ago.. really cool
this home is unbelievably beautiful. it definitely stands apart from the banal cookie cutter homes and construction you see all over florida. as someone who is raised in Florida I definitely appreciate the love and attention to detail/research that went into this home. what a perfect size for their needs and much better designed than any cookie cutter spec home. congrats homeowners.
Love these videos of the modern home tours! It's inspiring me to make major improvements to the look of my own house. Cool to see this is right here in Florida too!
Fantastic home! Great work! -- Modernism is high-art and will never appeal to the masses. The same scenario occurs with classical, jazz, abstract art...anything of high value. But anyway, your home is so inspiring. Thank you for this!!
bloody great house cant wait to build my own one day for now my flat will have to keep getting filled with danish furniture until I have no more space lol
I have seen so many ‘ mid-century inspired ‘ homes on youtube. Most seem to be big budget, marble and concrete extravaganzas that, while nice I suppose, completely miss the mark when compared with the homes created during the means restricted era of the 1950s and 1960s. Having limits vis a vis budget and overall resources often leads to more creative design I believe. Your house is the best mid-century inspired, new build that I have seen to date. I want to move right in! May I know who is the architect (besides you two!)?
From an article in Dwell: Homeowner Sean Brunson led the design of the new modernist home, enlisting the help of architect Alex Stone to complete the drawings.
We make just enough to cover our expenses with travel, photographers, music & insurance. We currently still have our day jobs and do this on the side with hopes that it'll turn into something much bigger. We plan to release more merch which will help us a ton to not rely on adsense as it has its up's and down's. Super grateful for the support we receive on a daily basis which keeps us moving forward with producing more.
Some people reach out to us while the other half we search for mostly via social media and mutural friends. Grateful to have a big circle of people that appreciate good architecture and our work to introduce us to their friends or people they know that may have great homes.
@@openspace.series Its already big but it will be still way bigger I think. You are at only 60 vids and already 111k followers that’s so good and rare!
Finding a builder in florida or even a general contractor to do anything in your house is a nightmare. There are parts I love about living here, but the state is such a dump in so many ways.

This was amazing. especially the commentary from the owner, who we can see is really passionate about mid-century!
I love that you can hear how in love he is with the home.

Proof that a modest-sized house can be architecturally interesting and inspiring to live in!
Wow. What a fantastic job they have done. The ambiance at night is something else. This, for me, is perfection, inside and out.
What an awesome build!! Not to big and the quality and attention to detail shines through - just how I like my homes. GREAT job
Is exactly my kind of dream home, I love absolutely 100% everything. From Europe, congratulations to you and your wife for made your dream come true.
Man what a beautiful home, especially how the lighting settles in the house. I can only dream of owning something like this one day

Great job, beautiful house. Awesome video.

Gorgeous home. It reminds me of the Stahl House, Case Study House #22, but somewhat warmer.
Beautiful & inspiring! Thank you.
Gorgeous 😍 ❤
I wish he could have given the builder and architect a shout out.
You have a beautiful home, it reminds me of the Stahl house in LA. Putting an L shaped pool along the L shaped home makes it feel grand. Y’all have an instant masterpiece!!!
Wow! I’m blown away that is only 1200sq ft! So well done. The furniture and art collection too…wow! Another great video. Enjoyed the Vespa shots

Those sliding cabinet doors made out of unfinished pegboard - a truly authentic touch. Well done sir!

Congrats again.
Nicely done! I'm a big fan of mid-century modern homes. This was really well-executed. Kudos to them.
Absolutely beautiful home, what a wonderful couple, they've filled their place with love
Bravo to the owners!! Inspiring story, beautiful home, I wish people would build more houses like this.
Truly inspiring, modernist yet warm and livable.
An amazing, beautiful, iconic house. I wish I would have a same home to live in.
Fantastic. More than half of the owner’s feelings and experiences mirror our own. Very well done.
The owner knows how to drive the journey to the end product. Nice work!
Iconic, this home will stand the test of time. Love the floors ❤
The openness of the design is what makes it great.
Such a Beautiful place! Great story telling and Amazing work from the owners!

Amazing place. Amazing people. Nice work telling the story.

A wonderful home that reminds me a little bit of the Stahl House.
Fantastic build with such thoughtful and appropriate design choices to stand the test of time, to include the furnishings of course. I’m really into a home on the smaller side with function as the goal. Stunning.
Good job. Would have liked to have seen the other rooms also. Vespa's are great 😊

Love every inch of this.

This is such a cool home! Thanks for sharing.
Capturing a certain mid-century essence, while still being original and contemporary. Very well done! Noticed the architect wasn't mentioned, though
Bravo👏👏👏 love the vespa surf rack
Perfect Living!
Loved that. Great home. Nice guy.
Beautiful home- thanks for sharing!
That’s just so awesome you didn’t feel the need to build a massive home! This home is classy and elegant and liveable. Not pretentious at all…

Amazing home!!
I dig your art & architectural choices. Prefer the gulf side of Fla though. Enjoy
Beautiful ❤️
A glass house but a proper house❤
0:54 that cardboard array of Texas. hey pretty cool ! doubly subtle it's the color palette also
Gorgeous architecture. But so much beige.
Its beautiful! Who was their architect?
From an article in Dwell: Homeowner Sean Brunson led the design of the new modernist home, enlisting the help of architect Alex Stone to complete the drawings.
Wonderful
Very bold (risky) to build a home like this in Florida and on a barrier island. It's beautiful, though.
Nice Rauschenbergs!
Really beautiful. Modest but incredibly sophisticated. Who was the architect?
Sean is cool
Flip-flops on a motorbike!
Beautiful home. Top to bottom
What area of Florida is this? Looks lovely
Just south of Cocoa Beach, close to Patricks AFB judging by the Vespa powered surf check.

How do you guys make money to enable these videos and the expensive camera setup?
What money? 😂😂

well, super nice house. But what a risk to build on an island on the east coast of Florida...could get wiped out in an instance
Now i know why i cant get any agave attenuatas on any of my projects.
anyone knows what kind of flooring is used here?
Terrazzo
