Because a roll can produce multiple notes on a single stroke. So from that angle you can't see all the notes. I should of used the other camera for that part so you could see better. Oh well. Thanks for watching!

How do you make your snare sound so great?

First and most important is having a good snare drum(one in video is DW Collectors series Brass 14"x6.5"). There are lots of good snare drums. Then having a good head and tuning. Those are most important. Then having a decent mic (i use shure sm57) and a good preamp to run into.
