- In today’s vlog we head to Disney Springs to try a a brand new restaurant, Summer House on the Lake! We’ve been waiting for it to open for a while and today’s the day! We check out the decor, the menu and the overall vibe. We tried a little bit of everything from mocktails, starters, mains and even a kids menu item. Afterwards we head to the cookie bar, yes the cookie bar (!!!) and have way too many cookies! It was a great way to spend the day at Disney Springs and we left very full and happy with all the things we tried! We hope you had fun having lunch with us at Summer House on the Lake. I’m so happy when I see a bright and lighted restaurant. I’m visually impaired and dark restaurants make my anxiety go up
I’m not a fan of the loud music, as I am almost completely deaf without my hearing aids. Even with them, loud music is a pain in the butt. I wouldn’t eat anywhere where I couldn’t talk to my ‘tablemates’
I love the look of the restaurant. Bright and clean and not cluttered with knick-knacks.
I truly enjoy watching these food / restaurant videos you guys do …. This place looks excellent, wish I could afford to go. So many restaurants are just way out of our budget. Big fan, you guys do great vlogs. 🎉❤

Very underrated, but the Restrooms in a Restaurant are VERY Important! Could be a deal breaker for me. Thanks Jen for mentioning them 😎👍

Thanks for the fantastic review. I’ll be there in two weeks. I think I need to go for lunch to enjoy the views. I booked two reservations one for dinner one for lunch. Wouldn't Wisconsin House on the Lake be more novel? All year round cozy fires, giant mugs of beer & melted cheese goods?? An oodie to wear whilst you're there, or BYO an oodie. The idea of a Summer House seems a bit redundant in Orlando LOL
As someone who is a born and raised California resident… I don’t really get what makes this place “Californian” 😅 but the place still looked great and the food sounded awesome!
I think when restaurants claim to be "Californian", they actually mean WeHoian. Cali is such a huge state that you can't really represent the entire thing with one decor style.

And $36 for a friggen basket of Fish n Chips??!! With the cookies & all, you guys dropped around $190 for lunch, 😢Those prices are crazy even for a Disney Property restaurant!

I like to know about good bathrooms, especially American ones as I notice they often have a big gap between the floor to the door and above too - here in the UK we usually have a full door to close which I prefer!

We have this in Maryland and its so expensive. Its good for ladies brunch tho. Great food though. And their bakery is to die for.

So glad I had the 3 meatballs app from the pizza place by our house for dinner before watching this! These are 10 for 3, and prob not quite as good as those, but I would’ve had terrible fomo otherwise 😂

I liked the lemon and pinky (pink frosting with sprinkles). I think the cookies are good, different than gideans of course but also pretty much the same price. On the plus side no wait to get in

I like the bright decorations and vibe inside. The food in pictures looks a bit meh, but I'm glad to hear the taste lives up to its price. Never tried the one in Chicago, it always looked a bit mediocre in a city filled with amazing restaurants, so never checked it out.
Oh my goodness. I'm going to try and make that brussel sprout salad because it sounds amazing and we will not be back anytime soon

I live pretty close to the Maryland location- it looks very similar. Mine doesn't have the vaulted ceilings though, because it's the ground floor of an apartment building

We were pretty disappointed with Summer House on the Lake. Food wasn't great and we got the wrong order, because music so loud server misunderstood. Would give it another chance, I know they are just getting their sea legs, but not in a rush.

we were in Springs last week and stopped in for cookie bar....after seeing the crazy line for Gideons we came here....cookies were delicious and would def go back for more flavors....only thing i personally hate at these restaurants is the music is so darn loud u cant talk without hanging over table to hear....so thats my reason for not eating inside.....but cookies are a go.....

I went to a new Crumbl cookie store in my town. Cookies were ok. Next time I went no chocolates and no nuts, didn’t buy anything. Third time there were big wigs outside and when I went inside the cookies I got were really good and really large. A week later I bought a box and when I opened it I was mad. They were tiny and over $20 for four. I could have walked into the Costco right there and gotten a tub of same size cookies for under $20. Needless to say I haven’t gone back and won’t ever. There is a Yummy cookie in Roseville Ca that charges by the sizes of the cookies and has tons of choices, 100% better. They do all the cookies with variety, basic and three other ingredient ones. So everyone gets what they like.
One of those NA Drinks were the same price as that kids burger meal 😳 🍹, but you did save $14 😎👍
The first thing I do when visiting a restaurant, especially one I’ve never eaten in, is to visit the Men’s Room. If it looks unkempt or dirty, I could just imagine what the kitchen looks like. Maybe next time 🤔

Random question. What program are you using to create your video thumbnails now? I noticed the style has changed from the past when you just used a single screenshot. Now you're overlaying images like a collage. A lot of UA-camrs are doing this now and I know they don't all have Photoshop skills.
7:30 I think the words you’re looking for is umami. It’s actually the fifth taste bud. or sense. I don’t know what they’re called but umami flavor. Like cheese and soy sauce and stuff like that.

did anyone else say ¨that´s not shoe string¨ fries or is it just me? When i think of shoe string, I think of like paper thin fries. (like you find at a fair) but i love the rawness of the fish! The cookies looked AMAZING! I wish they opened when I was there but i guess that means i´ll have to go back...
