    We just got ours and our dog is finally ok with it (took a week of training). This thing will come in so handy when it’s too hot/ cold outside or during forest fire season and it’s too smoky. Love it!

    Is it worth the investment? $1,049 is a lot of money for a treadmill - I'm just curious 6 months after you posted this if you would say it's worth the investment or not and if they are a good company to deal with?

    • @CDUB23821

      It's definitely worth the investment in my opinion. Plus I live in a very hot climate so right now it's perfect to keep them exercised. I know it's alot of money, but compared to the other brands out there it's the cheapest I found by far. I bought through Amazon, but the company that sells has been great to deal with.

      I’m about to do exactly this. Thinking of getting the plastic track and brake version. Mainly because I have two Malinois and want it to last as long as possible. How is yours holding up? These other EU slat mills and a few I’ve seen in US as well are so expensive. This looks like the best choice.

      It does get pretty noisy if they run full speed. So depending on how well the insulation and sound proof it is you might annoy your neighbors

    Has the dog using the treadmill ever been on one before.? Our dogs have NEVER USED one before so it’s moving under them and is scaring them. Like it keeps moving under them.

      It takes a little getting used to for the dogs. I have one dog that jumped on and started going right away. The other dog took a couple weeks for him to get used to it and not be scared. It just takes some time, patience and training. Once he got used to it he loves running on it.

    How did you introduce your dog to the belt when it doesn’t secure

    • @CDUB23821

      @wendygreulich-elmer2412 Рік тому

      @CDUB23821 what I mean is thr wooden plank belt isn't secure so the belt moves. Once he's use to it yeah you attach the link to the harness but until the how do stop the belt from moving to introduce.

    • @CDUB23821
      @CDUB23821  Рік тому

      @wendygreulich-elmer2412 you can hold it with your hand or lean your body against it while the jump up on it, or just pick them up and put them on it. I explain in the video I use a mechanic glove to stop the track when they're on it.

      @@CDUB23821awesome thank you for that. Do you have the height of the bar as high as it will go. I'm just trying to find out if I need the med or large fir my dog. He's a bull dog so he's not tall only 21" at the whithers. The specs for the mill online say the height for med is 27" and the large 33". Are those true to measurement and is that at the highest adjustment?

      @RDNSAPBTS I'm not able to measure it right now. But I'd say that's pretty accurate. The bar is fixed and not adjustable. But the chain is adjustable for height.

    • @CDUB23821
      @CDUB23821  Рік тому

      It's just a Top Dog harness from PetSmart. Any type of harness or collar should work fine. There's a chain from the top bar with a small Carribeaner type clip. You just attach it to the harness and adjust to comfort.

      @@CDUB23821 even though my pup walks it doesn't move easily? he walk a few and stops... I asked when i bought it which size to get since he was 50 lbs. Is there anyway you know of to make it spin more easily? Maybe if I put it on an incline it would help. I am pretty frustrated that I got my scared dog over being scared of it and then he walks on it and it won't move unless I am helping to spin it. 🤦🏼‍♀

    • @CDUB23821
      @CDUB23821  Рік тому +1

      @123ahck I completely understand your frustration. If it's on a flat surface the dogs don't always understand they need to walk. Yes propping it up with wood or something will help because then they will start rolling back and try to compensate by walking. But it also takes patience and training as well. Using a treat or toy in front of them will help to encourage them to walk forward as well. It can be an uneasy feeling to them, so work on it every day and hopefully they will learn to love it. I have 3 dogs, 1 of them loves it and will jump up on his own and start running. The 2nd one likes it but it takes some encouraging. The third hates it and tries to run away but she will still walk on it once I get her up there

    • @123ahck
      @123ahck Рік тому

      @@CDUB23821 thanks. I will try propping it up. It just seems very hard to spin.... like it is too heavy .. if he is on it and walks on his own it doesn't really move much or not at all ie he just walks further up the track.. and I am having to help move it. I wonder if he is too light to move such heavy wood planks? He weighs 50 lbs and they said to get a large treadmill. I wonder what the difference it between medium and large is? Thanks again

    • @CDUB23821
      @CDUB23821  Рік тому

      @123ahck the only other thing I can think of would be to try adjusting the tension of the track. That might give more slack and let it roll a little easier.

    A good slatmill should not need parts replaced every few months. People buy a machine from somebody who haas been making them for longer then a few months. Sometimes the least expensive option is not always the best.

    • @CDUB23821
      @CDUB23821  Рік тому +2

      No one said anything about replacing parts every few months. I will agree that the least expensive option isn't always the best. However, there are not a lot of options in the market for slatmills. Most options I found were around 2,500 and up. Not everyone can afford that, especially when they're not sure if the dog will like it. And most mobile companies such as yourself usually charge from $40-70 per 30 min exercise which can add up quickly.
