Scottie - for the hustle and the familiarity of the system. He did well last game as the floor general against Chinese Taipei with 9 ast.
Newsome - this guy is the best defender the PH team can get. He got that Norwood type of defense and he is also can be the backup PG.
Perez - CJ will be the that instant offense off the bench
Ramos - the most versatile guard in Gilas, he is the most consistent player with his defense, playmaking and scoring
Wings:
Oftana - we need his shooting and size as a wing
Malonzo - we need his athleticism that can matchup some athletic wings of the opponents
KQ - can be the X factor of this team like what he did in Team SGA. Can shoot, has the energy and a great passer.
Tamayo - stretch 4 with amazing footwork at the post
Brownlee - the NP, can do a little bit of everything
Bigs:
Sotto - I think this is the time we will witness Kai's game as he becomes one of the main man in the triangle offense
Edu - the defense and rebounding this guy brings is so vital for this team in order to win
Fajardo - we need JMF to have some minutes to dominate inside and bang bodies for the bigs of the opponent.
Reserved:
Heading - if ever we need some shooting he is the perfect guy
Abando - if he recovers from the injury he is the best replacement if anything happens for the guards and wings
Baltazar - the best replacement for our bigs, can shoot and can play inside

Mason Amos- Youngest in the team. consistent outside scoring, can shoot almost everywhere! he's a young RDO, a definition of a modern bigman, he was also coached by Chot and Tim cone, he was part of the team with Brownlee last fiba world cup asian qualifiers, and was a part of sea games gilas lineup last year. so the chemistry with the current lineup of gilas will not be an issue.
18 yrs old Mason Amos is BETTER than 18 yrs old Tamayo, Quiambao, and Sotto.
what do you think of Ray Parks Jr. in place of Tamayo? I really like his shooting, versatility and length. he is also a better defender IMO against athletic wings in the OQT. he can be a POA defender and a point forward if need be. plus he has more experience.

yung next round ng FIBA OQT ang magiging pinka test ng gilas .. para sa akin, ito na yung pinakamalakas na basketball national team na nabuo sa history ng philippine basketball .. with all due respect sa 2015 gilas! mas malakas itong team na to + CTC as HC .. yung magiging laban nila vs latvia ang magiging sukatan kung nasaan level ba talaga itong gilas team na ito ..
walang laban ang gilas sa Latvia, if they can get Clarkson and green , maybe mkkalaban but impossible to Win talaga, Latvia is a new powerhouse of basketball in Europe now, they are very promising

Nice selections but I think Gilas still needs Junmar, specially for Georgia who likes post play underneath. Kailangan natin ng muscles sa ilalim. Maganda kung kayang maconsider ng SBP si Balti pangdagdag din sa size na may shooting outside. From Coach Tim line-up siguro si CJ nalang ang puedeng alisin.

Eventually Brownlee and Thompson will have to go because of their age. Then, Malonzo (or add Francis Lopez instead) should be back and then maybe Abarrientos for Thompson. And, when fajardo can’t play anymore, hopefully at least either Kouame or Philllips has already gotten their FIBA local eligibility

@@jeypeemacapinig1093I dont know Jeypee. That's a really tough question. As of now kasi, he's considered a naturalized player diba. The SBP will have to go through a really long process once again with the FIBA Committee to have Ange reclassified as a local. It would take a lot of time and resources to have that done that's why I feel like that's not a main priority of theirs as of the moment.

Sakaling sasali sa nba ang team latvia e tiyak na marami din silang matatalo dun, basehan ko ay nung tinalo ng lithuania ang usa na all nba team at magagaling na coach ang pwersa nila sa world cup 2023, pero yung lithuania na tumalo sa usa ay tinambakan lng naman ng latvia ito. Kaya laking pagkakataon na natapat sila satin para siguradong mas malaking experience na makukuha ng gilas.

Newsome is to important for Coach CTC defensive principles. Abando >>>>> Perez sigruo kasi Perez is unpredictable. Perfect term sa kanyaa is dynamite. Parang westbrook sometimes his aggresiveness causes him to make mistakes. Thoose mistakes can be overlooked if mahina yung kabalaban iba kapag worldclass competition. If he makes the OQT roster i will be shocked if di ma change yung slot ny'a. Perez is a great player pero di ako na bagayan sa systema ni CTC para sa laro ny'a. He would play better under Coach Chot in all honesty.
