and if you're using stylish mode, i don't really see the point of even playing the game in the first place.
like, in stylish the game takes so much control away from you that you're barely even playing a game at that point

2 years late but you can input it while motion locked. So after short hopping, deactivating barrier, jab, or 214A. If you’re fast you can do it off of crouching. Trick is to start it a little before you see bullet go down.

You... You know, I replayed Calamity Trigger and Continuum Shift so I can kinda understand what the flip is going on in Chrono Phantasma and maybe pick Central Fiction afterwards to actually play but after seeing this video I'm having second thoughts. I knew BlazBlue was not the most accessible fighting game (as I had already played CT and CS) but didn't know it had SO MUCH to it.
When I see characters like Mu or Carl (or you know, any character that has to manage something beside themselves) I'm at loss for words.
I'll probably pick Central Fiction... Then cry realizing I'll need an hour to nail one basic combo string in challenge mode with Ragna.
I might be late, and you might have heard this a thousand times on other videos by now (or might not care for one reason or another). But you don't actually have to spend and hour on Ragna's combo trials to do well with him. All you really need while starting out is 5B > 5C > Hell's Fang.

This game is hard but FUN and worth it
what i really think helps players get understand BBCF other than the tutorial/training/challenge modes, is the AIs. The Hell difficulty AI in this game feels somewhat human, tho if you play them enough times you'll figure you their predetermined blockstrings/pattern. But it's still good enough to get used to the feel of the game. When i don't feel like playing anyone, i'd just hop on versus mode and fight the AIs. my favorites AIs to fight are Es, Noelle, Azrael, Hakumen and Izanami
As a Terumi and Hazama main i can confirm that this game can be hellish sometimes,still fun btw
Great video but the real highlight for me was the one to one photorealistic perfection that was that picture of Es at the end. Sorry, I mean that work of artistic genius at the end.

Been watching your vids for almost a year now wow lol. Finally started learning Blazblue online with people in the BB discord last night and man this game is so fun. I debated about playing plus r or BB and needless to say, after playing, I made my decision lol
been trying to get into fighting games and specifically BB (Nu -13's design is too good) for a while always good to find someone with some well made and entertaining videos.

I picked up blazblue central fiction today and went for Rachel, Kokonoe and Izanami. I like to mess around with stuff.

Blazblue may be hard, but so am I when I see Izanami
i never found this game hard compared to other game. if you are looking for hard execution, almost every fighting game has hard high level things. and simple combos aren't as hard as kof 13, or does it have moves that make you go wtf like arcana. or have a lot of beginners from other games taking awhile to learn how to move around like arcana heart or tekken. there are a lot of mechanics, but nothing too hard to understand if you played lots of other fgs, and tutorials definitely made it a good choice to learn air dashers when it was new.
there are a lot of matchups to learn, but at the same time, there doesnt seem like theres so many variations in optimal playstyles you can use per character, compared to some games, where playing a different player may make the same character feel like a different character. if you only played sf or 3d games, it'll seem like a really hard game. or if you want to get to super high level, but every game is hard to get to super high level
I think "hard" execution for Blazblue game isnt a correct word but more into "fun" and "complex" mechanic
There's a reason I play Bullet, and It's cause I get to play strive Sol/Leo. No thoughts, only press. After finding out Ragna can heal himself and that he monke I think I'll start playing him too

@@doncinati7644 the thing that kind of turns me away is that i really don't like not even *knowing* about the advanced mechanincs, but even just going through all the tutorials before playing is overwhelming.
so i'm left with this dillema: do i play the game while only knowing about half the mechanics, or do i try to cram all that info into my brain?
@@slkjvlkfsvnlsdfhgdght5447 i guess you’ve heard it before but imo you’re just better off knowing the basic stuff like (since we talking about BlazBlue):
1. Barrier Blocking - for pushback
2. OD - comeback mechanic (think X-Factor UMVC3)
[I. your combo extender, II. to escape peoples combos, III. to get out of blockstrings, as for when to escape? You learn that more as you play like other high lvl strats]
3. Crush Trigger - guard cancel, but can also be a combo extender
And all that other advanced stuff you pick up intuitively the more you play the game.
My last tip is that you TRY, you shouldn’t force yourself but you at least TRY, to use them in a match, or at the very least one of them, since you’ll get used to them overtime and know when to use them

Try CF then, i think more hard isnt a true word but more fun, its has new mechanic such as overdrive state, overflow state and new move for every character

So that's why this game feels this way. I been getting so salty when I pick a character and my friends can combo me while I don't on Technical. I just wish I never bought this game.
just use stylish in first games and then just try learning it the best way is to go into challenge mode or see combos on youtube i know how u feel bro but recommend go to UA-cam

How many mods do you have in your game?
Not too many. A couple of modded stages, songs improvement mod, and color changes to ui.

Is this game harder than KOF and Tekken?
I played blazblue I tried makoto because I like tonfas I regretted my decision. 41236C 5c5c 236236D (I can pull off other things but this timing too tight.) I had more fun playing izanami challenge mode so far than makoto. My controler is gonna break soon since makoto chooses to do 236D then 236236D I am the big sad.
