I love your countertops. Taj Mahal Quartzite is my favorite. My husband and I chose it for our kitchen as well. We had two beautiful slabs set aside. They put our name on them, and when we went back a week later to pay for them, they had been sold! It was so upsetting. We never found another set of slabs that we liked, so we ended up getting Cambria Berwin quartz countertops that are also very nice. There is a lot of Mica sprinkled throughout, and every time I wipe down my countertops they glisten. It makes my heart happy. I really do love my kitchen, but every time I watch your videos and see your countertops I am reminded how beautiful that quartzite is. 🙂
Two tier island is so 90s or early 2000. I'm so glad you got rip off it and the green color looks beautiful. I really like it and hope you keep the color. Amazing job you and hubby did and you guys are such a great team!! 👍
Amanda, hi, your kitchen really turned out beautiful. You shouldn't question your choice of your island color it helps with the flow of the house to tie the color all together. The island (and whole kitchen) is gorgeous! I say keep the color. Although, I’m sure if you paint it a new color you will make it look good that way too.
I thought the “before” at the beginning was the “after” and loved it. The after is also really nice and tastes do change over time. That was a lot of work and you both did a good job.
Still love the counter stool redo! And you’re right… the seat sanding takes FOREVER! After seeing your video I did the same thing with some thrift store chairs and used Beyond Paint…. Great stuff!!

I personally wouldn’t change the green color on the island as it pulls the kitchen together with your living room with the book shelves. You & Kyle work sooo well together & you’re both very handy with DIYs which I couldn’t imagine doing, I’d have to hire someone but it’s very nice to see you both working along side one another in whatever projects you have to do!😁 TFS again! Kitchen looks BEAUTIFUL but I agree with you on the island green,if you don’t LOVE IT change it . IMO I’d do very neutral almost white . Choice’s are endless as you know lol,looking forward to the next video.🤗✌️

I love this makeover! It’s so bright but still warm and inviting. Have you thought about adding height to your upper cabinets by building decorative lighted cabinet boxes to the tops. It would mimic the height of your cabinetry across in the living room.
I love the way your kitchen turned out! It has inspired me to paint my cabinets and do some other things to update and brighten my dark kitchen. I love the color of your island and that is doesn't match the cabinets. Thank you for always keeping it real and inspiring others to do better and it doesn't have to cost a fortune! I remember the before and after. This was a lot of work , the tiles/backsplash looked really hard to me for some reason. You guys did an amazing job. Oh and about the tiling , that upscaled your kitchen soooo much. I can’t believe how much more beautiful it is. It’s incredible.

For your house, I like the new island best. For our house, I like the split level island best, but ours is attached to the wall, so it's not out in the middle of the floor. Your house is absolutely beautiful!!! 🎄
I don't usually like herringbone (it usually makes me think of the chevron prints from the 2010s) but I really like the way the backsplash turned out for you! I think it's the marble, it looks so soft, and you kept your grout light. It looks really nice!
We totally gutted (right down to the studs) our entire kitchen. Plumbing moved, electric moved, island moved....new ceiling walls floors cabinets window doors etc. New counters and even the skylights got replaced. Was definitely a bit stressful, but OH MY WORD I absolutely LOVE it and this will last us forever as this IS our forever home. Your kitchen came out so nice, we have similar taste too

I'm a team single tier island all the way. For one, it's cleaner looking and opens up the space, and for another, I'm short and tall islands hit me right around boob height. Not very useful for a shmall like me. LOVE the finished product. I followed every video of the entire process and so it was super cool to see the condensed version of the kitchen reno..
I’m a two tiered island girl. I definitely see your point on maximizing the work surface, but the reason I am pro two tiered is because I like the way it blocks any dishes/messes from our living area. If I have guests over and I am cooking, I want everything to look tidy from the living room. For the same reason I like a separate dining room from the kitchen. However, I do tend to entertain more formally, so that style tends to dictate not being able to view the kitchen from the formal dining room. I love your kitchen, though! You’ve done a lot to it and all of your effort has paid off!
Hey Amanda and Kyle. To say that this was a labor of love, is an understatement. The transformation at every corner, top to bottom, overall is outstanding. It looks like a completely different kitchen. I prefer the 1 tier island which gives you more surface space and allows for your whole family to sit, eat, chat, cook and play. I agree about the color and that's from my vantage point and screen. The color seems to downplay the beauty of the island. I think a lighter, neutral color would serve it up in its true beauty using scuff proof paint of course, given you have stools all around. I love white dove which you used in your kitchen and fun fact I used in both of my bedrooms. Great job 👍🏽🙌🏽

I loved watching all of the steps you guys did in your kitchen makeover! I watched the original videos. It’s so cool to see it all together. I debated on using evergreen fog but my reason is our rooms are too small I think. I absolutely love the color. I’ve noticed it looking different colors but thought it was just lighting or you know how sometimes the camera picks things up differently. I still love it! Your kitchen is amazing! Your whole home is! I showed my hubby clips and he said , it’s definitely beautiful but it looks easy because it’s clips Dana, you have no idea how much work goes into it. 😬😬😬 well, so much for that! I really enjoyed watching you transform your kitchen. It turned out amazing. It’s amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it. It’s also a great bonding time with your spouse as well. Having said all that my biggest concern was when I saw both of you using and leaning over that saw that was on the ground. Oh my goodness, my heart was palpitating. Please please please raise it up higher. Being on the floor someone could trip and fall on it and that was freaking me out.

I love the makeover you did on your kitchen! Seeing it all over again makes the urge to redo mine even stronger but not sure that’s in the finances anytime soon 😢. As far as the island I would have to agree with you on liking a one level better but that’s just my preference. I like the green you painted the island as well but I also feel we are just looking at it in a video and you are the one that has to live with it day in & day out so if you feel it needs to be repainted then that’s what you should do!

We are coming up on only 2 years in our first home and there are so many things I want to change, but we live in an Condo so I don’t want to go crazy; not to mention how expensive renovations are. This is the first time that I watched your channel. You both did an amazing job. Amanda you did a great job with the herringbone back splashes. That was quite the undertaking; especially for the first time. Your kitchen would be magazine approved. I don't mind the colour of your island "fog green". Being that you have black chairs, you wouldn't want to go too dark on the paint. The bead board and new appliances and painted cabinets and L.E.D. lights all add to the ambiance that you were trying to create. I say a job well done. I love the makeover you did on your kitchen! Seeing it all over again makes the urge to redo mine even stronger but not sure that’s in the finances anytime soon 😢. As far as the island I would have to agree with you on liking a one level better but that’s just my preference. I like the green you painted the island as well but I also feel we are just looking at it in a video and you are the one that has to live with it day in & day out so if you feel it needs to be repainted then that’s what you should do!

This is the first time that I watched your channel. You both did an amazing job. Amanda you did a great job with the herringbone back splashes. That was quite the undertaking; especially for the first time. Your kitchen would be magazine approved. I don't mind the colour of your island "fog green". Being that you have black chairs, you wouldn't want to go too dark on the paint. The bead board and new appliances and painted cabinets and L.E.D. lights all add to the ambiance that you were trying to create. I say a job well done. Just beautiful! Great seeing it all in one video. It made a huge difference getting those black countertops out! They made everything that was dark look darker. Love what you picked to replace it. Your backsplash is stunning! I also like the island color. When the chairs are pushed in, you don’t really see a lot of it and I think it’s cool to have matched your living room shelves. Single island is the best way to open your space up . Single sink is the best as well easy to wash large pans.
