I get the analogy with a passport in the sense it's a screening process. But I don't see a passport being a solution to a problem your country's government created, it's a worldwide travel document
Absolutely amazing that the small airport knows more about civil rights and treats people with respect than the large airports. Thumbs up to the fine people at the Rapid City SD Regional Airport for their professionalism and courteous interactions.
Not just law enforcement... its a society as a whole thing.... Law enforcement seems to draw those types in, but you'll run into em every day without ever seeing a cop here... Thats the whole Karen thing kind of... People actually believe they can say and do whatever they think is right whether society hold that value or not.
Too many people think you are violating their rights when you do or say something they don't like, they disagree with, or that hurts their feelings. Then they often want to literally violate your rights because of their hurt feelings.

It burns me that people think a camera was meant and aimed just for them and not a subject in the background! I spent almost 2 hours on a ambient sounds video only to have Karen and her kids knowingly sashay in, kids start clowning around on camera while Karen screams to stop videoing her kids! Bizarro!

TSA pre check is like a more thorough screening you can apply for and be able to get through security faster in most cases but lots of people do it now so it’s nice to be able to get in to either line and get through much quicker. My father in law works for TWU and or American Airlines and him and my mother in law are both TSA pre check.
TSA precheck is about $80 for 5 years and it allows you to skip the line, not remove anything from your carry-on, not remove your belt, don't take your shoes off... much much better than waiting in line.

Dude's editorial on flying was spot on. When I was younger, I vowed I would never be the old guy that said, "Things were better back in my day." Don't get it twisted, we've made amazing advancements, but aside from flying; sports, movies, and music aren't what they used to be.
Must have forgot about the good old home phone lines, your every movement can't be tracked through a wall phone. Computers, information came through books, news-papers, and others, not at the click of a button. The amount of people crammed in to a square block in multi level apartments, is very different to each family having a home on their own land. There's so many more things that have changed it probably would be a shorter list, to list what hasn't changed?

I did an audit of Albuquerque Sunport. Was there nearly 2 hours and was treated (by ABQ cops, TSA, Counter people, etc) wonderfully! Noone tried to stop us recording or walking through all of the dark deep corridors we walked! A good audit is never a bad thing!
If you fly frequently, TSA Precheck is awesome. You pay $80 bucks or so and submit a background check (the "Precheck") and you have a much shorter line and don't need to remove your shoes, hat, belt, etc. You Also Don't need to remove your laptop from its bag and you simply walk through a simple metal detector. It is good for 5 years. It cut down my TSA wait time from 15-30 minutes in line to 5 or less. I travel frequently so it's well worth it for me but YMMV.
everyone should watch this video and see that 2 men can be kind to each other and have a conversation. when you spotlight a good cop it should be a teaching tool for the rest and for people to be fair to them while also protecting their rights. thank for doing this.

Pre-Check is so nice! I'm in Sioux Falls so it doesn't help so much here, but basically, wherever we go (Chicago, Vegas, etc.) it is a HUGE help on the way back. You completely skip the line, no shoes off, laptop is fine, etc. In fact, my American Express reimbursed me for it and I think most other airline cards do as well. Huge plus to have overall, even for the occasional flier.

I believe (for what its worth) that you just cannot go "through" the checkpoint. You should be able to go up to it, not just the line. The line should not be restricted.

I'm usually more pissed that there are thousands of security cameras spying on me wherever I go, than at some person documenting a trip.
