Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Today, we learn how to create a bunch of different types of materials in Unreal Engine 4! We create a diffuse material, a shiny material, an emission material and a metallic material! Plus, we learn how to make an object, shiny or get rid of it's shine, emit a small amount of light... or glow up a room - and much more!

I watch almost 30 videos to catch this. you are the only guy to teach ours the exact point of view and crystal clear video. thanks buddy.
Thank you very much. EXTREMELY glad to have help you out :) Happy game developing :D
exactly, I was thinking the same.
1000% correct
Super duper ultra pro Max helpful!!!!! Basic concepts of material is now crystal clear!!!
Thank. You. Didn't expect to be learning node editing, but with this tutorial I feel like it'll be a breeze. Nice and snappy, but not so fast that you get lost. Awesome stuff!
My god man, I just can't believe I'd been looking for this kind of tutorial for so long and I finally found it. You've got a new sub.
Haha! I'm very glad you were finally able to find something to help you out! Thank you so much for the support! :)
Thank you so much! I just started using unreal 4 and I was confused on how to add colors and materials, have a good day!
Yesss....you are the only one I understand after watching other 50 youtube channels
Most f the tutorials ive seen do really complicated stuff', im glad you explained it all nice and clear
Gotta thank you, man. Started out for UE4 and I have been searching for a tutorial like yours. Keep up the good work.
I'm new in UE4 and your tutorial help a lot and easy to follow
I'm glad!
I have referred to this video so many times now. The tip about emissive multipliers especially. Thanks so much for making this
SO so glad to be able to help you out that much!
The only word that can describe this vidoe is "Perfection"
Thank you, keep it up buddy!
Thanks for this.
Admittedly, this is now nearly 4 years after you posted this and I'm doing it in UE5. Yours is one of a number of tutes I'm watching on Materials for the day.
I see how things have changed since merely applying the color with a value of say, 25 directly to Emissive Color does the same thing.
Regardless, consider me a new subscriber. :)
FINALLY A VIDEO THAT'S EASY TO UNDERSTAND.THANK YOU
:D Thank you a bunch. Glad you found something to help ya out.
Wow that may be the clearest tutorial I’ve ever watched

TutsByKai it’s no problem, you deserve it, you already have a pretty good amount of subs but you deserve way more! Keep doing what you do!
Awesome video! Helped me a lot getting started with Unreal Engine!
If your emission isn't working I think I have the solution
Under Place Actors in upper left corner
click on All Classes to search
Search Post Process Volume and add it to your scene
Scale it to cover what you have in your scene that you want to emit or glow
Double click post process volume in the World Outliner
Look at your Details panel----> Click Lens----> Select Bloom------> Go to intensity-----> Turn it up
Mine was turned off by default for some reason and I think this should solve people's issues.
The node tree is just fine
You are the best! Thank you soo much!
Dude, this tutorial is great! I can't believe you don't have more viewers. Just keep it up, subs will come.

Quick question: Which resolutions can textures/materials in Unreal Engine have? Like, with dimensions (height and width), power of two: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 and so on?
Thank you !)
Anytime pal!
Hey, I watched your video, but can you please slow down, and explain in greater detail why all this works the way it does? It's overwhelming for someone that's new like me to UE4 and I am trying to understand how and why things work the way they do. :) Thanks.
I mistakenly closed the event graph window of the material and I can't find the window again, what can I do?
Thank you amazing tutorial....
gracias me sirvio mucho
finalllly thankyou thankyou!!
Thank YOU! :)
Perfect!
Can you do a mirror?
Sure! Coming soon! :D
Perfect tutorial mate
Thank you very much! :)

Re: Shiney - Not sure what I did, but half of the sphere is less shiny than the other.
i have a question, my emissive is not working, my glow not like yours in preview
same here
ive used it on the gun obviusly xD
ty
not working for me. vector 3 and constant into multiplier A/B respectively and out to emission but nothing. not even the colour. any help?
They might've changed it by now... not sure. I haven't been in UE4 in a while.
new sub
Awesome pal! Thanks for the support :)
In general, all Unreal Engine games have some kind of untouched glossiness to them that make them identifiable from a mile away.
All the games I'm not interested in playing based on their gloss-level are listed under the "unreal engine games" on wikipedia.
I know it's crazy but I can't stand it
MAN! I hear that! I've played SO many itch.io games on my gaming channel, and seen so many glossies that I could gloss an entire wall from memory...
@@TutsByKai Yeah. The games themselves can be super friggin dope. but the engine gloss - is this a default dealy that people run into if assets are untouched? I dunno
Why does your Red Emissive appear more orange?, And not red.
It looks quite red to me :o
@@TutsByKai Red like a traffic light?

I accidentally deleted the "details" tab while making a material and now i can't do anything. How do I fix this?
Not sure. Haven't used Unreal in a while :/
Undo
left top side on the screen, windows > details
Holding 3 and left click dont do anything
They might've changed it, this tutorial is old now.
am i the only one that cant get any color on this stuff
If you followed everything to the T, perhaps there was an update that broke something.
the second I connected the constant3 it crashed. Good job unreal.
Everything can't be perfect :/ Plus, it depends on the system.
EASY

Dude slow down your speech. Your words blur together at times and make it difficult to understand you.
