    The Audio Multimeter AMM-1 combines useful features of a digital multimeter (DMM), an AC current probe, a Power Meter (Power Factor analyzer), an Impedance Meter, a frequency counter, and a oscilloscope into 1 tool.
    Modes of operation:
    DC Voltmeter - Measures the DC voltage between two points. 0 - 200 Volts
    DC Min/Max - Super fast capture of the minimum and maximum voltage. Great for looking for voltage drops and spikes. Measures over 200,000 times per second. 0 - 200 Volts
    AC Volts / AC Current - True RMS measurement of AC Voltage and AC Current simultaneously via high speed A/D converters and a tuned current transformer. 0 - 150 Volts RMS, 0 - 100 Amps RMS (Can be used independently). Clipping monitor is activated. Clipping displayed via a red LED.
    AC VA and Power Factor - Measures VA (Apparent Power) and Power Factor 0 - 15,000 VA, 50-100% PF. Clipping monitor is activated. Clipping displayed via a red LED.
    AC Freq and AC Impedance - Measures the frequency of the AC signal and the AC Impedance of a speaker load. 10 - 20,000kHz for frequency counter. 10-500Hz for AC Impedance. Impedance 0.1 - 200 Ohms. Clipping monitor is activated. Clipping displayed via a red LED.
    True Power Dyno - Measurement of maximum true power being delivered to a load without clipping of the signal. Power Factor compensated. Clipping monitor is activated. Clipping displayed via a red LED, any power produced while clipping is ignored. 0 - 15,000 Watts

    Im so glad you still have this video up. I got a new AMM-1 and did my first test today on a JL audio HD750/1 and though it sound satisfyingly loud i was surprised to see it do as low as 320 watts rms with 49hz at 0DB and with music it did about 520 watts rms. But i was also unaware that something as simple as having a door or window down or trunk open can cause you to get more or less watts rms on the AMM-1. This one kick ass Device!

    I have a DMM and and oscilloscope. I've been happy with the results so far. But if the price is right, the small form factor and additional capabilities are intriguing. Keep it up D'amore guys!

    Watched, liked, and shared. Loved this video. The D'Amore engineering AMM-1 is looking very promising for people that want to know how their system is actually performing in given conditions, I might have to put this on my Christmas list.

    I know it's not for that but doing alarms and starters you do deal with negative voltage triggers. Like I said I know it's not for that but there are negative voltages in a car, it's relative from your reference point.. It's nice knowing when brother cleo ran the lampcord for his power backwards lol. This looks nice, Using 2 meters at the same time for this stuff is a PITA, plus it does things much more expensive items do we don't have. I want one!

    359 is a good price might have to pick one up.dont know who made the comment about it being priced high but whoever it was really dont understand how this device can make us serious competitors testing a hell of alot easier.

    I really like this tool. I have done a lot of variational analysis in this area. You never know accurate the data you gather is because music happens so fast. I like that this can lock onto a peak. What I think would be awesome is if it could also log the data to a sd card to view the info like in a wave file such as in a "sound forge" program.

    I'm sure Tony will let us know. I was looking at it and my best guess is it is a digital crossover. There are lots of RCA inputs and outputs and the circuits are repeated over and over for each RCA.

    @meade916, Steve, I love the new meter. Very cool and a good price.
    In Tony's lessons/videos he is showing how to calculate Power Loss from heat due to clipping. It's Actual Power RMS - Power RMS Sinewave. It would be useful to be able to measure how much power is wasted due to clipping. It is a simple calculation and would be a good feature/learning tool..

    Finally. Some real stuff. Do you know what turns ratio you are using for the CT? Also thanks for talking about phase angles. Most people don't understand the influence it has, and how capacitors can help with the reactive load.

  • @NulledMedia
    @NulledMedia 10 років тому

    Hmm, maybe you need a negative indicator instead of just leaving it at "0". Might be hard to tell if the wires are crossed or you really don’t have any voltage on the line.

    Excuse me, Mr. Meade. I am wondering if you knew how to install an aftermarket market amplifier to a stock head unit. I have gone to numerous install shops here in Laredo, and they all tell me it is possible just they are not sure how to do it. I was hoping you could let me know how to do it so I can tell them. Please and Thank you.

      Sounds like the shops you went to have no business being in the car audio business... A LOC is very common and there is no excuse for not knowing about them.

      +Eian Wahgener Did not see you get an answer to this, I just got mine in and yes it does have a data hold on most features. I know such as Amplifier watts you can see real time and peak/hold. Still messing with mine, not feeling its accurate but Its only been in the shop a week and were really busy so at this point I'm going with it could be on my end until I get a better understand of it.

    Looks like an awesome tool, i'm sure I'll get one. One thing I dont understand though - why no reset button? You say yourself in the video "you hate menus", yet the only way to reset a reading is to go all the way through the entire menu? Seems like a disappointment :( I'm no firmware engineer, but what about making one button be the on/off button, leaving a button for "reset". Just an idea.

    What is the resolution for the AC and DC voltage...does it measure milli-volts?
    "A bunch of meters are hard to reset min/max mode" @ 6:01 ....All reset the same freaking way, by holding down the min/max button for 2seconds.
    "might be a thousand amps" @ 7:47....Really, starters do not pull more than a couple hundred amps. If your starter is pulling a thousand amps you have problems.
    Sad that you have to disconnect the speaker wire just to run it through the meter, much easier with a CLAMP.
    @11:30....Sorry but your using your subwoofers while trying to get measurements???? Don't you know you have to use a DUMMY load since the impedance changes with fhz on your subwoofer?? I use a 4ohm 1000watt dummy load and a 60hz sine wave and measure away...I also get ACCURATE readings and when I use formulas (numbers....for those that are too slow to understand) I get actual power output/watts.
    If your going to all that trouble just to measure how much power you got going one with the box/subwoofer/cabin space/box rise issues, take account that music is DYNAMIC and you cannot measure it....sure you can measure its peaks but what would be the point??? Measuring the amplifier on a bench with a steady power supply and a dummy load (100% PF) then that's should be GOOD ENOUGH to figure out somewhat to expect power wise from that amplifier.
    I can also take efficiency with my meters, DOES this one do that? Or would I need TWO meters??

  • @PracticalIT
    @PracticalIT 10 років тому

    Did you even read my question? Because you sure didn't answer it.
