I'm not sure how relevant this is after 3 years, but another PvZ UA-camr "Creeps20" (who focuses mostly on PvZ 2) explained in his video on the stage "Big Wave Beach" that placing sun producers in front of your damage dealers is optimal, unless you encounter zombies that eat the row backwards (digger zombie ect.). So, Scaredy-Shroom is on the weaker side among mushrooms, but a viable alternative to Pea-Shooter for night levels.

Scaredy shroom is a good plant it's an *EARLY GAME* (it can still do okish midgame aswell though) low cost ranged attacker unless you're playing day then it is a bad plant But puff shroom is a overpowered "early game" free close range attacker Scaredy shoom may be bad in this challenge since it can't carry you through everything, but that's just good plant design. And the hide thing, scaredy shroom would probably have to cost 50 without it and if you're good at the game you won't have a zombie right infront of the scaredy shroom. Unless you go against miners but thats just bad deck building. Oh yeah and that thing about you need to put sunflowers infront for it to work, that *is* just the objectively better way to put the sunflowers/sun shrooms. Sun shroom and sunflower also are just on the same level, but you sound like you just don't like sun shroom in this video which is fine you do have you're opinions, but you make it sound like scaredy shroom is the *worst* plant in the game when in my opinion it's coffee bean, but thats just *my* opinion.
I definitely don't hate scaredy shroom, and I think most of the anger comes from puff shroom being almost equally good for free. Also the sunflower tip is great, thanks for letting me know!
@@Funnymoney101 technically scaredy shroom is good, it is a peashooter for a quarter of the price, and if you think about it, when scaredy shroom hides, it only does like 6 less shots than a peashooter would in the same situation. Yes 6 is substantial but honestly if there’s zombies right next to your peashooters, you’re pretty much screwed anyway, even if you could get 6 shots in, right? That being said, puffshrooms are absolutely amazing.

For the same 50 sun, you can have 2 Sun-Shrooms, which produces a combined 30 sun every 24 seconds, and after 2 minutes, will grow to produce 50 combined sun every 24 seconds. (2 small mushrooms will produce 150 sun in 2 minutes, then grow up, while 1 Sunflower will produce 125 sun in 2 minutes, and not grow to a stronger sun producer ever). Sun-Shroom is so much better than Sunflower, even in tiny form, it's not even close. They're cheaper, so you get them down faster than Sunflowers, which means you can afford 2 of them right at the start (you start with 50 sun). No matter what sun producer you pick, it needs to produce sun *_twice_* for you to afford another of it. Sunflower needs to produce 2x25 for you to get another Sunflower. Sun-Shroom needs to produce 2x15 for you to afford another Sun Shroom. But you start with 2 Sun-shrooms, and only 1 Sunflower, meaning you get a 3rd Sun-Shroom in half the time it takes for you to get a 2nd Sunflower. And because a pair of Sun-Shrooms produces 30 sun while the cost of Sun-Shroom is 25 sun, you have 5 sun leftover, so every 5 purchases of Sun-Shroom, you'll actually only need them to produce 1x15 to afford another Sun-Shroom instead of 2x15. Then, once Sun-Shroom grows up, it's over. A single sun is able to afford another Sun-Shroom. It's not correct at all to say that Sun-Shroom produces slower than Sunflower, since the opposite is true, and Sun-Shroom has a compounding effect since you can build up the amount of Sun-Shrooms faster than you can build up the amount of Sunflowers.
i would say it'd have been easier to have the sun shroom be mimicked and just dig out row 3 then 4 as you fill the map with suns in what's basically the PVZ2 sun field strategy. but eh the map was beaten anyway lol.
I did this challenge in a much easier way, still following the same rules All i did was, use 2 rows of Sun-Shroom (with Imitator), 2 rows of scaredy shrooms on the back and use Magnet Shroom + Pumpkin to defend the sun shrooms and nerf the bucket zombies Besides the fact i did this challenge in 4-7 Lol
Unless the sun generated from sunflower and Sun-shroom generate at different rates, mushroom generally makes more sun for its cost, since a ratio of 50/25 (2/1) is worse than 25/15 (5/3)
The scaredy shroom would be more unique and fun if it gained more defense or something when hiding.

Yeah to be honest I forget about this strategy all the time and I've definitely died many times because of my forgetfulness.

I'd love to see you beat a level with only Ice Shroom as an offensive plant (It does 1hp of damage). Better bring a lot of wall plants

Night levels always suck for me. harder than the roof levels. In fact the roof levels was very fun.
For me I like the mushrooms but past puff shroom I just prefer the plants and catapults for slow downs and more damage.
