Lots of comments here about just buying a custom shop fender instead. These are almost certainly on par with master built meaning you're paying about £2k less than you would for an equivalent fender.
These are going to have very limited appeal imo, and the residuals of a second hand gobstopper. They’ll be made out of balsa wood next. Why anyone would fork out custom shop money for a copy is beyond me. All these boutique companies regurgitating age old designs, riding coattails, show us something new ffs. It’s done to death. Priced at £1500-£1800, they’d have my attention, as a plausible alternative to a Fender AVRI/Original, but at £3k. Why? I’m all for U.K. made guitars but these are disappointingly priced.
Hi Karl, thanks for your input, I agree with a lot you are saying, however we really hope you will get to try one out, we had a very similar reaction to our acoustics at the beginning and then as people tried them they got the whole thing. I see you’re a Rush fan. 🙌 best band in the world!!! ❤️
I hear you, but I played one of their acoustics on a trip to Chicago and it was the best guitar played on that trip by far. And the guitar in the vid sounds better to me than any AVRI I've heard. I know we're all used to slapping together partscasters for a grand and telling ourselves that they sound as good as any Custom Shop...but given the size Atkin's shop I think a better comparison would be a Fender Masetrbuilt which cost twice as much. I guess you could ask, why would I pay 2500 bucks extra for the letters F-E-N-D-E-R and a Masterbuilt decal on the headstock?

The point of ash is it is light, and these are even lighter, so... of logic and tone are your game, these are a win. If you've never tried one and want to decide without knowing, there's probably not much that will influence you different.

Allister comes across as a nice guy and very talented luthier .. but if your going to pay that much money for a fender why not but a custom shop instead of a copy ..
I think he should do his own design.. he is obviously very talented .. just my opinion..
Tbf they’re priced under the starting price for a CS guitar and probably 2/3rds the price for an interesting relic fender at £2899 vs £4k+. Not cheap but better value than fender custom shop

I'm not denying that there probably beautiful guitars ..

I got the George Harrison tele for 3200 .. not a custom shop I know but if you look on reverb there apparently going for between 5 and 8 thousand euro now 😅
I just think for a copy the price is high .. I think all thr fenders I mentioned above are over priced as well 🤣

Buy the Fender Custom Shop, if you ever need to sell it you'll get your money back.
I tried one yesterday, directly after a CS '52, the feel of the neck and the frets on the Atkin, also the sound of the pickups were all nicer to my hands and ears. Just being honest. I'd love the Fender logo, but being objective, the Atkin was 'better' in sound and feel, to me.

Just had a look at the clapton guitar .. gone up by 600 since then .. prices are going a bit out of control...
If i want a tele or a strat i buy the real deal, not a copy with an horrible headstock ...

Getting really tired of these 4 figure strat and tele copies. Do something original. They sound like Fenders. They play like Fenders. They go out of tune like Fenders. Please just stop
I don't know about Fenders going out of tune.
My Les Paul and SG were a nightmare for it.
Whereas my Tele and tremolo equipped Strat hardly go out of tune. As long as you don't 'dive bomb' with the trem.

These one play better than Fenders, better neck, better frets, better pickups, better finish. Those details aren't everyone's bag but I'm a fan.

I like the sound of this it sounds really good. The bridge pickup isn’t so stingy on the high strings as the fender is.

Either I buy a Fender Tele or I put a Partscaster together. But I definitely do not buy a Tele from another brand on a cost of a Fender Custom Shop.
I will stick with my broadcaster reissue though only 2000 and it’s the real thing. A fender. Nice guitar though.

Does it have a truss Rod in there I don’t see an adjustment hole on the top of the neck and I don’t see a skunk stripe either.

Not sure a Laney is an appropriate amp to demonstrate these guitars. I imagine they actually sound rather better than they did in this video.
This is just my opinion so feel free to disagree but if I wanted a Tele or a Strat I'd buy a Fender not a copy. I'm sure these guitars are very good but if you're a talented luthier why not design and make your own guitars rather than just make copies of iconic guitars?
