Unfortunately we had no good racing game in outrun, hang on, or chase HQ on neo geo. Sad story because Riding hero showed properly the hardware capabilities but with a horrible gameplay.
I just started playing Riding Hero for the first time this week. I'm only three hours in, but the highest I've managed to place is 1st place ONCE, 2nd place in some of my races and I think the only reason I'm even doing that well is because I've played a lot of modern motorcycle sim racers (which I rank in first place most times). However, MOST times I'm ranking in 3rd place (I've come in 3rd place much more than 1st and 2nd). Reason? The rubberband A.I in this game is INSANE (if you make it into the top three, it doesn't matter if you use turbo four times in a row and you race flawlessly, there is an incredibly high chance that the other two racers in the top three will pop out behind you and get ahead of you, especially if they hit you, causing your bike to slow down. It's almost impossible to avoid them if they decide to hit you from behind. You pretty much have to keep racing your heart out and HOPE you can pull ahead of them just long enough so you make it to the finish line before their absurd rubberband A.I kicks in again). Also, if you are not careful, it's VERY easy to get hit hard enough where you end up crashing into a sign and if that happens you are now in 8th place (last place) and you will lose if that happens. It will take A LOT of practice to learn to avoid that fate. Also, the game scores you on EACH race and adds up your total score after every race. It can be very frustrating when the main opponent keeps scoring in 1st place most of the time and their combined score is so high it's almost impossible to get a score higher than them. I'm going to keep trying with this game (I at least managed to get into 1st place once) but it's a VERY hard game. Much harder than any other motorbike game I have played. I actually like this game (I don't hate it, I'm getting some enjoyment out of it), but I seriously wish the game's difficulty were lower (the rubberband A.I in this game is pure insanity to the point of being unfair at times).
I played Super Hang On Megadrive last week and will try Bari Bari on PC Engine this week. I think that Riding Hero is the weakest game, too frustrating.
@@Kig_Ama I played it this morning and It's a good surprise (good animations/speed effect, championship, payable - enjoyable in manual gears, bike management, 16 tracks, manga's iconography)

Was just thinking the same.
The Neo Geo could have been an absolute dream console for sprite scaling racers. So sad, we didn't get those games.
14:37 l'IA qui passe à travers la bagnole... pas étonnant qu'il gagne a chaque fois! XD
🤣😂🤣
Big first like for ya 👍
This is painful to watch. Is the game hard? Are the controls bad? Its quite pretty and its a shame SNK didn't come out with more racing games
For me, it was quite hard.
@@Kig_Ama if you were the player, it does look like you had a hard time at it. Thank you for uploading it even if it's not your best gameplay
@@dr.charlesedwardflorendobr3952 Ty, indeed it was me I played it for the first time casually, didn't spent much time on it.

Pas facile ce jeu !
Oui!

Great! Bari Bari on the PC Engine I haven't tried out yet.
