Remember the days when headlights, tail lights and roof mounted warning lights produced just enough heat "to melt the snow" off the lenses .. ah, those good old days of halogen lamps. I guess LED's were never designed for winter.
I've lived in Omaha all my life.learned to drive a 4 speed datsun in the winter. I'm 54 and in the last 15 years have seen more winter accidents than ever before. Phone use and general inattentiveness is the cause.that and not knowing how to steer out of a possible wreck.stay home if you can't winter drive
I went home in this storm. It's nice to know ice is not prejudiced! Semis, 4wherl drives, 2 wheel drives, cars, SUV, we all had difficulty. It was arrogance and prideful driver's who got into accidents.
We got about 16 inched out of this little monster!!! Glad it was relatively easy to scoop...now where to put it all! Nice neighbor shot blower the portion from the walk / drive to the street, since the City ALWAYS PLOWS EVERYONES' IN!! ( 💩💩😫😵😡) Heard radio station in Omaha advising people to stay hone..Of COURSE folks don't listen, and have to tempt fate thinking they are Invincible or put other people at risk as well.! It Is beautiful to see the snow, but not when its dangerous to drive...bad enough for emergency personnel too!! Stay Safe out there folks..Common Sense! Thanks LSM for all their uploads too! I feel bad for those folks in Alabama this morning's Tornado..some LSM footage...😢
Annoying windshield wipers. Turn the heater on your windshield and slow down the frequency of your wipes, that sound is annoying. Any chance you get to stop, clear the ice buildup on those wipers.
Too many idiots driving too fast!!! Speeds have to be at 25 mph avg. The more speed the more momentum of weight Force still pushing ya even with the breaks causing Dangerous skiing.
THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN SUCH COLD AND SNOWY WEATHER AREA SHOULD KNOW BETTER CONDITION OF LOCAL ROADS AND FREEWAYS IN ORDER NOT TO GET STRANDED IN MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
I wish more people would turn on their lights in adverse conditions.
I drove in that for 22 years in Iowa. Your body tenses up and when reach your location it feels like you ran a marathon.
😀
Amen!!
I don’t mind driving in it. I just can’t stand the people who don’t know how to drive in it
@@nevermindme8922 I am going to be one of those people until I get used to it

No joke! Now we scrape the lights and scratch em
The sign said “Travel not recommended “. Good idea. I’ll stay home.
I’m getting stressed just watching.

GOD BLESS EVERYONY IF YOU DONT NEED TO GO OUT STAY HOME!!
Bet the driver of the pickup truck was like, "Dang it! I knew I should've brought my tire snow chains!"
Or just get a Tahoe. Problem solved
if he hadn’t been flooring it he would’ve gotten better traction lol
Oh boy! Look at all the fun I missed! I had to route myself around Iowa because that storm just parked itself on top of almost the entire state.
Just a heads up, I-29 doesn't run through Omaha or Nebraska at all for that matter.
Been there and I don't miss that at all . Stay safe
Hope everyone is safe
I-29 isn't in Omaha, not even in Nebraska
IKR. Iowa. Maybe they meant I-75, which is close and in Nebraska and kind of runs parallel to I-29.
An expensive set of snow tires is far cheaper than even a minor accident.
J E R O N I M O O O ...
Haha. My insurance company raised my rates when I moved to Omaha because "they don't know how to drive." Lowered the rates when I left 🤣.
As a person who live in omaha for year most people in omaha cant drive
@uchija2292 not according to my insurance company 😂😂😂

Please slow down and leave lots of room between vehicles. I wear polaroid sun glasses in storms because you can see farther.
Nice channel.
Feeling grateful sitting here in my warm living room watching someone else's misery.

Can't say I miss this much.
Just another day, driving in Omaha. I hated the cold but I always loved driving in the snow.
Just the opposite for me. Love the cold, hate the drive.
That day was terrible. My car is really bad in the snow I had to leave my car at work and have my brother pick me up 😩

In case your wondering, the snow keeps coming on and off and we are still freezing at below zero temps. Please save me.
0:35 Tandem Towplow!
I should of chained up!🤔
No one should have been on the highway. 20 years of hauling meat from hometown of Waterloo and I wouldn't have been out driving.
In tirol (austria) europe there are speed limits Espcially when snows so much and we know here to go by car slowly and 4wd
I stayed the hello home that day.
1:33 put it in 4WD guy!
It was a Dodge, it most likely didn't work..
@@Whiteram23 lol
Well it is a Crapsler product can't expect much
not all trucks have 4WD lol
I wish more people would turn on their common sense and stay off the roads in weather like this.
