    That's a good idea of printing off the parts schematic.
    Good job you checked the transmission before going further.

      Even I make simple mistakes and I personally try to have a system in place to prevent it from happening. I hope the videos and things I do can show it can happen to everyone and hopefully it helps someone with there builds one day

    I might have picked up the worst 1992 CR250 over the weekend. Just finished welding up the cases as it had a rod punch through it.
    This video is perfect timing!

      That’s what we like to do here at Dirt Bike Repair! Give you the info you need, and hopefully learn from our mistakes! Lol.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching, hopefully your 92 is not as hard up as Project 93.

      The engine might be worse off. But looks to be healthy now. The rest of the beast doesn't really seem that bad upon further inspection. Thanks for the assembly video. Was perfect timing

      Do you happen to have a white tank? Trade for a oversize black?

      @@narfer I do have a white tank I'm going to have a video on the restoration for project 93 tank.. I think I have a pretty interesting way to restore the white back from the normal aging yellow.. I also do have a brand new tank... but not really interested in trading it though.. sorry.. VMX makes really nice ones that are not oversize... but they are not cheap..

    I totally forgot to put the breather hose on the 2nd case when I put the motor back together and totally had to McGiver it in with a flat head screw driver, dirt bikes right.

      @Dirtbikerepair  4 місяці тому +1

      Lol, things do happen when you are getting it all back together. I think the biggest pain is when you do miss something it’s the risk of needing to get another gasket for the one you will damage getting it apart.. lol
      Thanks for the comment and I hope your McGivered hose is holding up.

      That’s awesome! Having the reassurance of knowing what is in the engine can some times make all the difference. It’s a good feeling to know everything is new and fresh when you are doing a build like this

    Can I ask where you get your seals, I have a dt80 Yamaha that I can’t find a seal for as well as a 250 1986 ktm that I know needs new seals before it’s started.. anyways thanks a bundle :3

    • @Dirtbikerepair
      @Dirtbikerepair  4 місяці тому

      In your situation if you have the old seals or the cases where they go and you can’t seem to find a retailer online. I used partzilla for project 93. It’s good to remember every town that has any kind of manufacturing probably has a industrial bearing supply place.. they might be able to get you the seals that you need if you can bring them the old ones or the thing you need to install them into. That’s what places like that do for a living and they specialize in figuring that kinda stuff out!
      I hope that helps and thanks a lot for the comment. Sometimes thinking outside the box can work for the older bikes.

    Where is the Kokanee? You can't assemble an engine without it. You might get dehydrated.

    Man I hate to see people use Chinese bearings seals and cranks. And the have 7 balls. Cheap $5 to $10 main bearing.
    OEM is 8 and a way better
    bearing . At the end of the day you save $150 over part made in Japan.
    And you do not press a crank in the motor at all.

    • @Dirtbikerepair
      @Dirtbikerepair  4 місяці тому

      I have never had a problem with any of the "All Balls Racing" products, I'm not going to say that the OEM Bearings are not good. OEM are really good. I just have never had a problem with any of the Wrench Rabbit kits. They always go in really good for me and seem to hold up just as good as any OEM builds I have done so I'm really curious to what makes you say they are no good.
      Why do you not think that all balls bearings are "Cheap" have you had problems using them ? and if so what bikes?
      I hope we can figure out why you had a bad experience so i can try to avoid it myself, its always good to get peoples opinions and to learn something from there experience.
