The most memorable Call of Duty multiplayer experience I've ever had. Besides CoD4, this was at the top of most enjoyable multiplayers CoD has ever released. Its a shame Treyarch doesn't even acknowledge their first game in the franchise, not even by making a 10 year anniversary.
Well, this ain't their first game. Their absolute first was Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Anyway, yeah, this game is my #1 favorite for multiplayer, and I think it's actually pretty well balanced overall.
From the sounds your character made when you threw a grenade, to playing as Medic and shooting your teammates with the shotgun and reviving them only to do it again until they rage quit. Good times. Good times.
This is nostalgic for me...We used to do LAN parties all the time playing this game. I think to a lot of people, it's not just the game... it brings us back to a time where these games were more fun because who we were playing with and maybe when things in your life were more simple... before becoming a full adult haha. Modern COD titles just don't give me the same feeling. COD3 and Modern Warefare 1 and 2 had the best memories for me.
Out of all the classic CoD games, this is the one I wish I played in it's prime. It just seems so interesting and different from the rest of the franchise.

United Offensive is basically the grandfather of this game with a lot of the same features and mechanics in multiplayer, and its still active if you wanted to try it out.
This will always be my all time favorite COD. There was just something about the multiplayer that made it so damn fun. The hilarious death animations and sounds still crack me up.

No one liked Treyarch's approach to COD at the time becoming basically a Red Orchestra clone so they ditched it in favor of CoD4's formula. World at War initially was supposed to be more like this game, but Activision requested that they stay more true to CoD4's successful formula on multiplayer. Some elements of this design still remain in the final product what with the larger maps and tanks WaW MP had. CoD 3 was also developed on an entirely different engine than IW's COD titles were, for whatever reason probably Treyarch's inexperience with the standard COD engine.
I played this so much 9 - 10 years after it came out on my PS3. Each game was so intense, much more intense than even the new fast paced CODs. There was a small community of us, at least 30 people online each day and I'd love seeing the same names in the lobby every week and every day I got on. My favorite COD, and highly underrated.
I used to work an overnight job back around 2011. On my nights off, I’d get baked, make a bowl of cereal and just vibe out on this game all night until the sun would come up. Man this game was special and no other call of duty ever made me laugh so hard.
Especially the in atmosphere and sound department. The WW2 Cod's and maybe CoD 4 had brilliant authentic beefy sounds effects. The new futuristic ones sound flat. Everything sounds the same.
It's kind of funny that the newest cod was ghosts when this came out. Cod 3 was 8 years old when this video was made, now ghosts is 9, and cod 3 is 16.

Man my first online experience was with this game along with ratchet deadlocked or something. The big maps, the Sherman tanks, the browning 32 (I believe) the bazooka, the m1 garand grenade launcher, everything about this game was the best. This CoD experience can’t be recreated. I would love to go back to this game I just don't have the time now like what I did in school, played this back at the start of 2007 and played it for 2 years, every day I would come home from school and play it for 4-6 hours straight and on weekends id spend the good part of 10-12 hours playing it, I managed to get to rank 56 in the world rankings getting between 10-30 kills for each death depending on what class I played, I mainly played sniper and unlike the guy in the video I would not bother holding my breath for every shot took to much time, id simply shoot them in the head first shot every shot. Back then playing games was easy and fun nowadays if you make a mistake your treating like trash in any game you play I'm 28 now and I can't shoot for shit now. Heck I can barley enjoy games nowadays I can't enjoy TV shows I can't enjoy movies all I want to do nowadays is work and be a boring man. I regret stopping playing video games for 2 years to join the real world. If any 1 I know ever gets a old Xbox and goes back to it I might just join them because this was the game for me all day every day.
Yes sir, these games invoke a lot of memories and nostalgia for me as well. They were a thing of comfort for my younger self. I’ve recently played Modern Warfare Remastered and that helped reignite my love for video games. I too have become mundane and boring as our adult lives shape our inner childs. Don’t forget to reconnect with old hobbies and interests. Ever since I have done so I’ve felt much happier, interested in life, and dare I say excited. Now, Ihave bought an Oculus and playing in VR gives me the same excitement I’d get years ago. So many new games and devices to use these days. Try some!

Man I use to dominate the hell out of this game this game with the M1 Garand. 2 shot kill, every time. One shot with the German equivalent but that was bolt action and slow. Finished 1st and 2nd each match as a teen. Played MW1 and 2 and then it died for me. Couldn’t get back into it like I used to. I guess life happened. MW3 was super fun to play with my buddies when we hung out. See how long we lasted as wave after wave came in.
This the real cod, large maps, useable vehicles! Precise gunplay and overall an actual historical feeling and era, no bs future shit and women with prosthetic arms or any of that bs!
I loved how could rise in rank during a match, and get more perks that way. The 'War' mode was my favorite, long long battles to capture a point, very satisfying to push back the enemy or panic when we'd lose ground.
This is the first CoD I remember playing, this video brings back way too many memories!! I love this game, except for the hackers in an invisible tank on the Farmland map lol. The good ole days man, I need to get this for Xbox again!
One of the best cod multiplayer’s of all time. The graphics were amazing at the time and the maps were huge. Good animations, great sounds, and all the guns were so fun to use. Especially the Thompson and the Browning M1919. There will never be another cod like this.

War Conducter I play on PS3. The lobbys are usually decent. Sometimes on rare occasions, the Poisson map set to 24 players can get near full.

Its one of the worst ever made thats why lets be honest. Call of duty 2 was better than this. Call of duty 4 is the best ever.

Vegeta Prince of All Saiyans I doubt that they even tried...instead of puting women and colored soldiers in the game they could have featured vehicles and tanks or maby add planes and much better maps for a better gameplay experience...games today are infected with political correctness disease..they only care about money
