I just loved seeing all this. Thanks for taking us along!! House was small but only 3 lived there. Poor Dolly Pardons house wasnt nice and there was alot of them lived in it. Most stars started out poor. I'm about 12 min from where Randy Owen of the group Alabama lives. It's a mansion. He's small house he and his wife lived in is on property and it's small and he was raised up farming but rich now. Loved it all. Glad some people make it rich in life.

Very well said. I am sure they were proud of that little house back then and I'm sure it broke Gladys and Vernon's hearts when they had to move, but God had another plan. Really enjoyed that house where Elvis was born at my dad told me that Vernon and my grandfather was friends for several years and my grandfather remembers Elvis being born there and my dad's also has told me that he remembered that they worked in the cotton fields for $2 a day Dad doesn't remember a whole lot because that was a long time ago I wish there was a way I could go back and find the history on that but I don't guess I could ever find out I thought that was pretty cool that my grandfather was friends with Vernon though oh and let me add this the hardware store where it was his mom bought Elvis the guitar my grandfather and I was in that hardware store when I was a kid it seems like I remember a little bit about it great video guys keep up the good work God bless

My grandma Mollie Wheeler lived right down the street in another shotgun house when she was growing up and rode the school bus with Elvis. She remembers him barefoot at times wearing his overalls and carrying his guitar. 🥰
Really enjoyed this video! I live in Mississippi..about 4 & 1/2 hours from Tupelo. I vaguely remember coming here probably 35 years ago with my family as a kid too young to appreciate the significance.

No idea about the airbnb but the Holiday Inn on Elvis Presley Blvd is best deal. Will tell you this the Graceland area is not the safest place. The Guesthouse At Graceland is Gated and safe but can be expensive but you can catch some cheaper rates at different times just not Elvis week. Will post video this week on this hotel. Those are the only 2 hotels I will stay at in that area. Don't stay at Days Inn next to Graceland it's a dump. Food down the street at Marlowes which is a Elvis fan hangout is nice. We have video of it. Go during day time if possible. The night we were there some one was shot and killed in front of it after we left a few years ago. We love Gus's Fried Chicken down on Mendenhall is our favorite place of any. Sun Records is a must and they run shuttle to The Guesthouse to pick you up and will take you down to Beale street. Love Beale street just be careful at night but we have never seen problems there. The Karate Dojo up from Graceland is also a must. It's run by Spa Guy a big Elvis you tuber and has the ambulance from 77 and is where Elvis practiced Karate. Watch our Memphis videos on the Playlist for the food reviews of different places we liked. I could go on. Get back to us when it's closer and tell me what you have come up with and we will discuss it. We know that area pretty good. Hope this helps. 😎😎
Just remembered there is a house you can rent right next door to Graceland and I think it's owned by the owner of Marlowes. Spa Guy did a video of it and it looks very nice. If you are out back you can see the Meditation Gardens where Elvis is buried. Never stayed there. Call the Tigerman Dojo in Memphis and ask for Billy (Spa Guy) tell them we sent you and he will tell you about it. Might be best option. Bobbie and I drove by it and it looks nice.

45 years ago, area looked entirely different. House was sitting close off street surrounded by big trees & other small houses close by with neighbors sitting on porches watching anybody stopping. We almost drove away because the sign was not obvious. And we did not stay long because it wasn't open - had only a few hours a few days a week posted on door. I guess when he died & Graceland became a big draw, Tupelo followed with the changes. But its not what the Presleys would remember as what was theirs.
That would have been cool to have seen it then. Would have liked to have known what it looked like when Elvis was alive. Appreciate the info and you watching 😎 😎

Back then it probably was not even painted. And if it was, there would just be little pieces of paint on the paint on the wood here and there. A lot of poor people lived this way. And to this day, at least in Mississippi and Texas a lot of people still live in houses like this.

It was just all in god's plan
45 years ago, area looked entirely different. House was sitting close off street surrounded by big trees & other small houses close by with neighbors sitting on porches watching anybody stopping. We almost drove away because the sign was not obvious. And we did not stay long because it wasn't open - had only a few hours a few days a week posted on door. I guess when he died & Graceland became a big draw, Tupelo followed with the changes. But its not what the Presleys would remember as what was theirs.
That would have been cool to have seen it then. Would have liked to have known what it looked like when Elvis was alive. Appreciate the info and you watching 😎 😎

My uncle sold the city the Church and it used to be on Berry street behind the church across the road from the birth place

Back then it probably was not even painted. And if it was, there would just be little pieces of paint on the paint on the wood here and there. A lot of poor people lived this way. And to this day, at least in Mississippi and Texas a lot of people still live in houses like this.

Elvis Birthplace (2022 Birthday Week) Tupelo Mississippi 0732am 12.6.23 not a fan. which isn't necessarily a confession that i have any ill will towards elvis the man etc - but he's other folks' passion as opposed to another man's passion. in most cases now the passion being the obligatory dollar? 15 dollars to look round his childhood home? kindda morbid, wouldn't you say? that said i went round gala's stately mansion in spain... so go figure..
