    Elvis was born from humble beginnings and he was a very humble man. I wish I could had met him.

    I just loved seeing all this. Thanks for taking us along!! House was small but only 3 lived there. Poor Dolly Pardons house wasnt nice and there was alot of them lived in it. Most stars started out poor. I'm about 12 min from where Randy Owen of the group Alabama lives. It's a mansion. He's small house he and his wife lived in is on property and it's small and he was raised up farming but rich now. Loved it all. Glad some people make it rich in life.

    Everytine I see the birthplace I think of Gladys and how she would just love to see her place like that now.
    Bless her heart! What a great man she raised! Listen to the sweet hospitality from the lady inside.
    Billy Smith said he was told they had a sheet hanging from the ceiling to separate the room some.

    VAL - THANK YOU FOR TAKING ME ALONG. SHAME, IT IS TERRIBLE, WHENEVER I WATCH THE VIDEOS OF WHERE HE WAS BORN, I THINK THEY HAD MUCH LESS THAN THE BARE NECESSITIES, BUT ONE THING IS SURE, ELVIS WAS SHOWERED WITH LOVE AND AFFECTION BY HIS PARENTS. THEY WERE SMART PARENTS, HE HAD THE BEST MANNERS AND THEY REALLY GAVE TO HIM WHENEVER THEY COULD. HE NEVER FORGOT WHERE HE CAME FROM AND BEARING IN MIND HIS FANTASTIC UPBRINGING, HE COULD JUST BE PROUD OF HIS PARENTS AND HIMSELF. THERE WILL JUST NEVER EVER BE ANOTHER ELVIS PRESLEY AND HE IS STILL LOVED DEARLY BY ALL HIS FANS......SOMETIMES IT MAKES ME WONDER........THIS MAN WAS JUST UNDESCRIBABLE, TOO MUCH TO MENTION........ THANKS ONCE AGAIN, GOD BLESS AND DRIVE SAFELY. LOVE VAL

      Very well said. I am sure they were proud of that little house back then and I'm sure it broke Gladys and Vernon's hearts when they had to move, but God had another plan. It's so sad that Gladys died about the the time Elvis because so successful, but at least she got to see that Elvis did succeed. Now they're all together in Heaven.😉😇😇😇😇❤

    • @jbinthehills
      @jbinthehills  2 роки тому +1

      No idea about the airbnb but the Holiday Inn on Elvis Presley Blvd is best deal. Will tell you this the Graceland area is not the safest place. The Guesthouse At Graceland is Gated and safe but can be expensive but you can catch some cheaper rates at different times just not Elvis week. Will post video this week on this hotel. Those are the only 2 hotels I will stay at in that area. Don't stay at Days Inn next to Graceland it's a dump. Food down the street at Marlowes which is a Elvis fan hangout is nice. We have video of it. Go during day time if possible. The night we were there some one was shot and killed in front of it after we left a few years ago. We love Gus's Fried Chicken down on Mendenhall is our favorite place of any. Sun Records is a must and they run shuttle to The Guesthouse to pick you up and will take you down to Beale street. Love Beale street just be careful at night but we have never seen problems there. The Karate Dojo up from Graceland is also a must. It's run by Spa Guy a big Elvis you tuber and has the ambulance from 77 and is where Elvis practiced Karate. Watch our Memphis videos on the Playlist for the food reviews of different places we liked. I could go on. Get back to us when it's closer and tell me what you have come up with and we will discuss it. We know that area pretty good. Hope this helps. 😎😎

    • @jbinthehills
      @jbinthehills  2 роки тому +1

      Just remembered there is a house you can rent right next door to Graceland and I think it's owned by the owner of Marlowes. Spa Guy did a video of it and it looks very nice. If you are out back you can see the Meditation Gardens where Elvis is buried. Never stayed there. Call the Tigerman Dojo in Memphis and ask for Billy (Spa Guy) tell them we sent you and he will tell you about it. Might be best option. Bobbie and I drove by it and it looks nice.

    45 years ago, area looked entirely different. House was sitting close off street surrounded by big trees & other small houses close by with neighbors sitting on porches watching anybody stopping. We almost drove away because the sign was not obvious. And we did not stay long because it wasn't open - had only a few hours a few days a week posted on door. I guess when he died & Graceland became a big draw, Tupelo followed with the changes. But its not what the Presleys would remember as what was theirs.

      I have no idea where the place you are talking about is located. Graceland even acknowledges this to be where he was born.😎😎

    So they got evicted when Elvis was 3ish years old I didn't know that. That's sad after all the work and then them losing their home

    Elvis Birthplace (2022 Birthday Week) Tupelo Mississippi 0732am 12.6.23 not a fan. which isn't necessarily a confession that i have any ill will towards elvis the man etc - but he's other folks' passion as opposed to another man's passion. in most cases now the passion being the obligatory dollar? 15 dollars to look round his childhood home? kindda morbid, wouldn't you say? that said i went round gala's stately mansion in spain... so go figure..

      @@jbinthehills Comments on ‘Elvis Birthplace (2022 Birthday Week) Tupelo Mississippi’ the hills? the band... the hills? i like that band... anyhow; this is correct. i need not explain again as i have been requested to explain such things again and again... the implication from me being i would rather get on with my life than crazy fans telling me time and time again what it was like for such and such a person to dwell in such an era... the guy was cool, no doubt. and his films were tolerable. but, as i keep saying, elvis presely was another man's passion... that is all. no piss take from me no hatred or pessimism about a guy i know sod all about... it's a fact - he is the idol of another era...
