  • Now that Project LS 400 is out on the road, some issues show up. In this episode I adress the high fuel cosumption. What causes it, and how does the air mixtrure control actually work?

Thanks alot for this lovely vedio.
    I have LS400 95 with 1UZFE second generation engine.
I had same issue before with fuel consumption.
I latterly tried all what you mentioned, but no luck .
Finally just by deleting the valve under power steering rezevur, the problem gone , its useless valve, and no difference with steering smooth after I delete it . Smooth still the same , not just that , if this valve fails, you will have alot of white smoke , and the power steering fluid will start decrease.
Also the hose come out from the valve going to air filter box was have air leaking in the air filter box it self , the small plastic pipe was broken , i tried to fix it , but the air leaking still there , so i close it with sealing glue , I think that air leaking was make the situation rich , and cause alot of fuel consumption.
Also you should be sure that the spark plugs are new or in good condition, also the air filter.
Because bad spark plugs, bad air filter case big fuel consumption.
Now fill the gas tank full , and go for 100 KM without AC , and check where is fuel indicator location stay .
Better to take pic for it .
Then after you finish fixed what ever you need to fix .
Fill the fuel tank full again, and go for another 100 KM without AC , and check the fuel indicator location again .
If it's higher, that's mean the problem solved.
If still in same location or lower, thats mean the problem still there .
    Update me please.
    Thanks ..

    Important note :
Make sure The rubber hose between air filter box and throttle, have no cracks, small cracks case air leaking, and air leaking case huge fuel consumption.

Thanks for all your comments. The car has currently another issue with shocking under accelaration and I found a couple of loose hose clamps. And I worked on the ECU, but more on that in the next episode. Thanks for watching!

I closed the EGR by making closed gaskets.

    Another thing ,
before I tried TE1 with E1 method, from the engine bay , but no luck , the check engine light appears on all the time without flashing.
