Fellow owner here! I can confirm the maintenance cost. I've had mine for about 3 and a half years. I've done 2 oil changes, and one fluid change on everything including trans, front and rear diff, radiator and brake fluid. I didn't even do it myself and that was only about $700. Yeah it's easy to maintain. I did my oil changes every 5k miles. And I spent $110 on PosiQuiet brake pads to replace OEM. Super cheap and I ran those for 3 years with no issues. Tires for me were $1500 going with OEM size PSS
Awesome update bro! Cool to hear your back story. Always believe in yourself ! My Dream car was my 2008 G35S 6speed sedan (Vq35HR) . The car is so fun to drive and reliable since I’ve owned it(0 issues) Only basic maintenance and still has OG engine OG trans, now has 177,000 miles. Purchased the car in 2017(132,000 off 1st owner). Everywhere I go people ask to buy it or even leave notes on my windshield haha The value has shot up and parts also on the G/Z platform(collectors item) The Godzilla will be my next GOAL to purchase. Honesty the GTR is in a class of its own! #nissanboyz #vqboyz
I have had alot of cars over the years. The Lamborghini Gallardo I had was alot of fun and I plan on buying one again later down the road. I have taken a break from cars for the past few years. I haven't owned a r35 yet but I think that may be my next sports car. I want something like you said that can be driven normal and then easily switched to a more aggressive drive. I would pretty much buy what you have a 2013 to 2015 in that dark grey color.
Oh cool! My goal is to Buy a Gallardo next year! Such a cool one! GTR is a great car for so many reasons. Can blend in, but at the same time you get to drive a very raw feeling fast car. Been so much fun!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed If you can swing it I would recommend holding onto the GTR after you buy the Gallardo. You will get to drive them back to back. I had a MK4 Supra I built at the same time as my Gallardo and that was a pretty badass combination. Just cut back and sell other things you don't need to make up the difference. You could still sell it if need be later.
The roominess of the GT-R interior is so nice, when or if l sell mine it will only be for another but a Nismo. Go for the Huracan the Gallardo’s are starting to show their age.
I’d be going for the 2nd Gen car tho. 1st gens do feel old. But the plan would be to end up trading it for a Huracan when I can. I just have to tick the box of buying my childhood dream car 😎
can't believe I've watched all your r35 videos thanks for sharing all the infos im in the market for one and seems like only 09-12 is in my budget lmao these cars are crazy
Thanks for the support! Yeah unfortunately since the market is so high, they are all pricey. A few years ago you find good ones under $50k. But you can still snag a good one. Just might take some time
I owned 3 GT-Rs, one of them for 4 years and put 50,000 miles on it all the way up to 900whp. Best cars I've owned but now I own a 991 Turbo S and may think this is better. It does everything the GT-R does but better. The GT-R sounds better though.
That's awesome! I drove a 991.2 GT3 that was straight piped and I fell in love! That naturally aspirated engine ripped! Can definitely see getting one of these at some point. So much lighter on its tows and ver precise. Nice that the Turbo S will have the same power that the GTR can make with the back seats.
Great video! If you are ever in the Maryland area, come meet up with me and my GTR squad! We hit up a track called "Capital Raceway" nice GTR vs GTR fun. Super nice staff, and they have 1/4 mile set up, prep and no prep days! Ive been there and raced the 8th, but haven't tried the 1/4 yet, would be cool to see how all of our GTRs stacks up against each other!
Dude, I LOVE this car. If I had my choice, I would show up in this bad boy over the Lamb. After a short time, the lamb is too much of a super car, cool for a very short period of time. I have a buddy that drove his GT-R until it had 240k and it ran at peak performance until he got rid of it with just regular maintenance, synthetic oil changes, etc. I love the burgundy interior! These are unique!
Got to mention one thing about the lambo, I would learn how to manage any work you do on it yourself because parts are through the roof and cost to work on is unreal. But hey, that’s your dream car, I get it!
Oh yeah I love this car! But I need to check off the box of owning a Lambo lol. Wanted one since I was a little kid. SO when that time comes, I'd be selling this GTR anyway, so I can easily trade it for a Lambo. If I get bored I'll just sell it and get a new GTR ;)
Honestly the Gallardo is so similar to my brothers R8. Same engine and electronics as the V10 first Gen R8. Same transmission as my brothers car. SO honestly it's pretty easy to maintain. And parts aren't too bad. But I also do the work myself and it's not that bad for that car. I'll buy it regardless ;)
Because I Saw The 2021 Nissan R35 GT-R T-Spec Also The 2021 Nissan R35 GT-R NISMO Special Edition Also I Heard Rumors For The GT-R Said They Really Know Will Discontinued It After 2021 MY We Still Not Know.
i almost went on the same path as you but i started with a Mitsubishi eclipse , to a nismo 370z, then a 2014 black gtr as my primary daily next to my truck.
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the videos. In todays market that sounds like a great deal! I could sell mine for over $90k with the mods today. Snag that one up for 85!
Has anyone ever had the "T/M System Malfunction" only on a cold start? Seems like once my trans oil gets to 90F, I'm fine... If I try and drive without clearing the T/M malfunction the car won't go in reverse and skips 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear. Once the trans oil heats up... shifts are totally fine.
Not saying the Gallardo is a bad car its just the Huracan is more reliable. I know 2 different people who ran huracans for years with no major problems. Otherwise the Gallardo looks, sounds and performs great. Personally I would take a modded GTR over a Gallardo any day. But I totally understand the need to reach a lifetime goal of owning a lambo. It will be interesting to see your experience and hopefully its a positive one.
Well the Gallardo is also half the price of a Huracan. I can actually afford one at the moment lol. But when the time comes, 3 years from now roughly. My Nismo Z will be pretty fast. That will be my 'fast car', the Gallardo will be my old school car. I really like that generation of car. Worst case if months/years later I get bored, I'll buy a newer GTR. At that time my current GTR will be getting old and time to sell anyways from my own standards. Then years later I'll either buy a newer GTR or if I can afford it, I will get a Huracan. I do want one after the Gallardo. Als, I'm only interested in the 2nd gen G
Now that I consider it- it's getting to the point that keeping it is the best bet. 2017-2018 GTR is a bit more refined but as time goes by its sooo worth keeping. Would the Lambo be a stick? Would you get it already modded like a UGR? Thanks Brian!
I'd have to see at the time what makes sense. Money wise sine I own the GTR outright, that will cover half the Lambo which would make it very easy to buy. I doubt I could find a manual in my price range tho. Those are going for crazy high numbers these days. I'd want bone stock LP550 or LP560. If I kept it long term I could see doing a VF supercharger. But I'd probably trade it for a Huracan later on and supercharge that
Yeah those are pretty crazy! But a 2000 hp Huracan cost like $200k to mod. A supercharger kit is about $30k. And the crazy fast ones are not practical to drive around town. I need my cars to be usable around town but still fun. An 800 HP Huracan is plenty and relatively affordable lol
Tô be honest people that trade those cars don’t even know what they have in hands and second hand buyers are tankful. Those cars will sky rocket, they are discontinued in several countries and in US and Japan I believe from June
@@madkas14 Yeah I saw the vid about that. I havent had E85 in my car all winter. When I do put a tank in, most of the time I burn it up within a week and then go back to normal
@@madkas14 Yea that's an unfortunate side effect of E85. I just did pumps on mine and the plastic seemed fine with E85 sitting in it for months. But I might have to look into the Radium fuel pump assembly in the future. Price we pay for fun cars. 😔 LOL
Nissan GTR are great cars, love the fact that they are inconspicuous on the road unlike a Ferrari or Lamborghini. The only people who would notice the GTR on the roads would be car enthusiasts....or police officers if they like you and want to get your phone number. ☺️
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Don't forget that cleaning lady at the local Nissan dealership! She probably daily driving a fbo one with bigger turbos on E85 tune 5 mph below speed limit. 😀
I used to want a 350Z (If not 370Z) bc I thought they were cool cars, but also so NOBODY could borrow it, (especially if they wanted to have more than 2 ppl with them) but I thought that was sorta selfish. lol
Yeah I love red leather. This car and a Black Edition were the only 2 in the country listed when I bought mine that fit my criteria. So glad I went with this one. I love how comfortable the seats are and I love all the red. It really stands out! People always comment about it at cars shows too
I only drive 4k miles a year in this car. Every 5k or once a year is what I do with my cars/bike. Between owning multiple cars and a motorcycle, and having press cars. It's impossible for me to drive one car more then that many miles annually.
If I can afford the R36 if it comes out, I'll certainly look into it. The Supra was a great car for while I owned it. Never got attached to it. There really isnt any 'special' about it. Solid car overall but it's just a good sportscar. The GTR is a legendary supercar while still being practical. And it drives like nothing else. I got bored with the torque converter auto in the Supra. So excited to have a manual in the new Z!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes it dose have cats.. its got midpipe and catback...it's got bigger injectors cobb accessport and cobb air intake system it's stage 1 tuned ..but someone said its not tuned properly.
Aside from what Brian said, check your exhaust for leaks. And I'd definitely have the O2 sensors checked. If they aren't reading right they will force the ECU to over compensate with more fuel to prevent lean events.
How are u only doing oil changes once a year? And you have a modified GTR, im a fellow GTR owner and I get an oil change every 3k miles and I don’t even daily drive mine lol
Once a year or every 5K miles is when I change it. If I’m doing track driving or lots of mountain trips, I might change it sooner, but that’s what I’ve been doing for the whole ownership period. 3K is early and just more money to spend, not really necessary to cut it that short.
You'll feel the drivetrain shifting gears. You can feel and hear the clutches engages. Its just not that refined. Very fun tho and ads a lot of character!
The GTRs are very nice...debating or not if I should trade my C63S amg facelift coupe for 1🤔....I know the C63S will no longer have the V8...what car would you go for if you could have 1? I know they are 2 totally different rides. I'd like to see if an R36 will come out?...If not, I think the R35 will be worth money and may appreciate down the road.....
Well the C63 has a lot of refinements. So this will be a bit of a shock to drive. Very raw in comparison. I like the GTR better because of that and it just feels lighter and more of a car that has a special feeling. But it is not a refined car. So depending on how much you liked the luxuries, you might not like this. Hopefully they make an R36! I feel the R35 will continue to climb in value

With Lambo it may be different, :) This car should always stay. :) I would love to own RS6 Avant. I know Carvana offered me 59k for my 09 with 73k miles :) I could make money by selling it. I had 2003 911 Turbo. I do miss it a little. been thinking about 07,08 997 Turbo 6spd. but I remember having my 03 it was just small and not as roomy as GT-R - but good luck to you! I hope all dreams come true and you get a lambo, next month on the 27th it's going to be 1 year since my ownership :)
Wow thats an impressive offer! A Lambo will be fun! But I'll probably have another GTR at some point if I sell this for the Lambo. Thanks! I'm working toward a lot of things! Enjoy yours!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I can tell about hard work !. You guys are awesome. Started watching when you picked up the GT-R. 2017 Would be amazing. I love how GT-R just hugs the road and feels like a jet. ! Rs6 won't give me that thrill.
You may regret selling the GTR if you ever do sell it, especially if you have a lot of issues that arise with your Gallardo. Maybe have both for some time lmao.
It’ll be interesting to see. However at that time, this GTR will be getting close to 70k, so I’d probably want to sell it anyways. If the Gallardo ends up being annoying to own. I’d swap it for a newer GTR or Huracan if I can afford it. So I can always get back to the GTR 😎
ok? Everyone is different in what they like. I'm glad you're enjoying the same car 15 years later. I chose to enjoy my life a different way. And in the car enthusiast world, we don't own cars long term. We buy and sell frequently because we love owning different cars. To each their own.
If you sell this car you WILL regret it later on in life. l think it's time to seldom drive it & save the mileage. Eventually you'll pick up a Lamborghini & still have this Godzilla. I only tune into your channel because of this car.
Keep in mind, when the time comes in a few years, this will be getting to the age/mileage of when I'd probably want to move on to a newer GTR anyways. So trading it will make the Lambo super cheap to buy. And worst case, if I get bored, I'll just swap the Lambo back to a newer GTR. We'll have to see when the time comes and what I can afford. But I really don't make that many videos on the GTR anymore, so it's not a big view source for me anymore. The new Z will be my main project
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Fair enough, 12 years ago my mate sold his R34 because he considered it too old & traded up to a Ferarri which he regretted, that's all, thanks.
We'll see. I will have the Nismo Z at that time. And that car will be pretty fast on E85 with a manual trans too. But the sentimental value of my childhood dream car is worth a lot to me. I like how the old school Lambo like that drives. Worst case, that would be the time I'd be trading my current GTR in for a newer GTR anyways. So If I get bored I can trade the Lambo back for a new gen GTR. Or if I can afford it, I'll get a Huracan
Because it made it a lot more fun! Have you driven a 700WHP Nissan GTR? Big difference. Keep in mind, Nissan has to follow several regulations to produce a car. The aftermarket mods and tuning further enhance the car and make it better. They take the car where Nissan built it to be, but weren't allowed to have set like this.
When the time comes we'll see. Keep in mind thats a few more years. I'll be at the time to swap this for a newer GTR anyways. So might as well pick up the childhood dream car instead. Worst case I sell it in a few months and just buy an other GTR thats newer

Nice! Thats a cool car for sure and I wanted one as my first car back when I was in high school! You'll get to the GTR soon enough ;)
You don't have to keep modding it if you're happy with it, nothing wrong with just enjoying the car as is long term.
For sure! I love the way it is right now. I'm just enjoying driving it!
some have a thrist for more lol, im going 2000whp in a few years
I have had alot of cars over the years.
Oh very cool! Hopefully I can get to a 1/4 soon this year!
Was waiting for this one
Hope you enjoyed the video!
I feel like they are either going to unveil a new one end of this year, or it will be discontinued. So we'll see
i almost went on the same path as you but i started with a Mitsubishi eclipse , to a nismo 370z, then a 2014 black gtr as my primary daily next to my truck.
Thats awesome! Love seeing other peoples progression towards cars like this!
I love u channel bro thanks for the honesty on the car.. I'm looking to buy a 2014 gtr black edition with 41k miles but the dealer wants 85k for it
Intersting. Maybe a shift fork or something is getting stuck in the colder oil temps. Maybe do a trans flush
Dam 4 Years Already! What does that make you bro? 28 or 27?! Haha awesome man
Lol just turned 28
Been a fun car over the years!
I was about to get the new GR86 but the new Z is so sick so I’m just going to wait on it.
Yeah the new Z will be much more fun I bet! Way better power. 86 is a fun toy, but just does have the speed
When you are ready to sale the GTR I would like to buy it from you.
I LOVE IT
Thanks! GTR has been a great car!
But I'd probably trade it for a Huracan later on and supercharge that
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Wow! Your faithful subscribers will be there! ( I came on just after you sold the Z ) Cool!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I know Huracans love turbos, many of them make over 2000 hp with them.
Nice man!
Beautiful car, however, I don't think you can say that any GTR is a "sleeper" since even stock they go 0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds
That is a very good point! But since the outside doesnt look crazy modded, people not know that my car can make 700 HP ;)
Tô be honest people that trade those cars don’t even know what they have in hands and second hand buyers are tankful.
Those cars will sky rocket, they are discontinued in several countries and in US and Japan I believe from June
Yeah these cars are very special and a lot of new owners just bought them for the heck out it. Tons of enthusiastic customers came later
@@BrosFOURRSpeed and please continue the amazing content, for me you are one of the best car UA-camrs 👍👌
Will do man!
Did you upgrade the plastic fuel pump assembly that's in the fuel tank?
I have not. But I don’t run E85 that often to be honest. So I don’t think I’ll have an issue
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah, E85 eats the plastic in the tank and in return, it clogs up the fuel pump filter and kill the fuel pump.
😔 LOL
@@Mikey6048 yea, I would upgrade it. You do not want to risk ruining your fuel pump.
Nissan GTR are great cars, love the fact that they are inconspicuous on the road unlike a Ferrari or Lamborghini. The only people who would notice the GTR on the roads would be car enthusiasts....or police officers if they like you and want to get your phone number. ☺️
Haha yeah. Normal people don’t even look at the car. Which is nice! Been a fun toy for sure!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I notice and look at GTR when I see them on the road, I must be an abnormal freak. 😆
@@waic1639 lol only car people know what they are
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Don't forget that cleaning lady at the local Nissan dealership! She probably daily driving a fbo one with bigger turbos on E85 tune 5 mph below speed limit. 😀
lol
Nissan GTR it’s amazing car and Also Nissan Z it’s a cool car
I used to want a 350Z (If not 370Z) bc I thought they were cool cars, but also so NOBODY could borrow it, (especially if they wanted to have more than 2 ppl with them) but I thought that was sorta selfish. lol
also bc I'm just a really nice person, which it doesn't take much to pressure me for most things...
@@therealfredwardbenson7295 Good for you bro
Yeah the new Z is going to be awesome! Can’t wait!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Good luck bro
I love gtr I'm raising money to buy it and that it's white the gtr is nice that you like it
Sweet man! Keep working towards it and you'll get it soon enough!
the leather is red or orange color?
It's a dark red ;)
@@BrosFOURRSpeed nice u go with the based red colour and some boring black , if I bought gtr I get red interior like yours 👌🏻
Yeah I love red leather. This car and a Black Edition were the only 2 in the country listed when I bought mine that fit my criteria. So glad I went with this one. I love how comfortable the seats are and I love all the red. It really stands out! People always comment about it at cars shows too
You only change your oil once a year?
I only drive 4k miles a year in this car. Every 5k or once a year is what I do with my cars/bike. Between owning multiple cars and a motorcycle, and having press cars. It's impossible for me to drive one car more then that many miles annually.
R36 in the future?
Did you just not really vibe with the Supra? Doesn’t seem like you got that attached to it, if so why?
If I can afford the R36 if it comes out, I'll certainly look into it. The Supra was a great car for while I owned it. Never got attached to it. There really isnt any 'special' about it. Solid car overall but it's just a good sportscar. The GTR is a legendary supercar while still being practical. And it drives like nothing else. I got bored with the torque converter auto in the Supra. So excited to have a manual in the new Z!
Midnight Purple 2021 Nissan R35 GT-R T-Spec I Just Not Even Said That Brian.
Yeah that's a cool spec for sure!
Please help...i have aftermarket exhaust on my 2014 gtr sometime it smells like gasoline coming from exhaust while idle is it normal?
Does it have cats? With a full exhaust you'll get some exhaust fumes ever now and then. If your car is tuned it could be running a bit rich too
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes it dose have cats.. its got midpipe and catback...it's got bigger injectors cobb accessport and cobb air intake system it's stage 1 tuned ..but someone said its not tuned properly.
Aside from what Brian said, check your exhaust for leaks. And I'd definitely have the O2 sensors checked. If they aren't reading right they will force the ECU to over compensate with more fuel to prevent lean events.
Bro how you pass emission?
Technically the tuning turns off the cats and codes so it has no issue since nothing comes up when scanned. But this is a track only car ;)
wink wink
How are u only doing oil changes once a year? And you have a modified GTR, im a fellow GTR owner and I get an oil change every 3k miles and I don’t even daily drive mine lol
Once a year or every 5K miles is when I change it. If I’m doing track driving or lots of mountain trips, I might change it sooner, but that’s what I’ve been doing for the whole ownership period. 3K is early and just more money to spend, not really necessary to cut it that short.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed hmm ok, we’ll I’m coming from a Q60 so maintenance was key to keeping that VR30 healthy so I assumed it would be the same on the GTR
Waht you do mean by clunky?like when in stop and go it moves alot or what lol
That is the second time no intro
Yeah I didn’t put it in a few of my new vids to see how I like it
How did the red paint on the brakes hold up?
Fine. They still look like the day I painted them. Break dust cleans off just as easy too! Very happy with them!
How much is insurance
It was about $1k per year for full coverage. Nothing crazy to own

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I can tell about hard work !. You guys are awesome. Started watching when you picked up the GT-R. 2017 Would be amazing. I love how GT-R just hugs the road and feels like a jet. ! Rs6 won't give me that thrill.
It cost more to maintain my old G37S in my profile pic than the average GTR
Thats crazy! Do you do everything yourself? GTR has been nothing
So, id be doing that maintenance once a year because I drive about 35k a year lol
Oh boy… I would recommend a daily driver alongside the GTR then 😅
I'm driving the same car for the last 15 years and stilling loving it what's it the big deal with your 4 years
ok? Everyone is different in what they like. I'm glad you're enjoying the same car 15 years later. I chose to enjoy my life a different way. And in the car enthusiast world, we don't own cars long term. We buy and sell frequently because we love owning different cars. To each their own.
🖤
Thanks for checking out the video!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Fair enough, 12 years ago my mate sold his R34 because he considered it too old & traded up to a Ferarri which he regretted, that's all, thanks.

il say an nsx will be better.
but too expensive.
The newer NSX is a great car too. But about double the price of this. Not really in the same class tho
just subscribed because you actually responded. 🥰🥰🥰❤
If you sell the GTR for a old lambo then I think your be disappointed I know I would be
💪🏽💯 that GT-R aged like fine wine👌🏽

Why are you modifying vehicle your team smarter than Engineers at Nissan?
Because it made it a lot more fun! Have you driven a 700WHP Nissan GTR? Big difference. Keep in mind, Nissan has to follow several regulations to produce a car. The aftermarket mods and tuning further enhance the car and make it better. They take the car where Nissan built it to be, but weren't allowed to have set like this.
Don't sell it for a lambo.
When the time comes we'll see. Keep in mind thats a few more years. I'll be at the time to swap this for a newer GTR anyways. So might as well pick up the childhood dream car instead. Worst case I sell it in a few months and just buy an other GTR thats newer
I Accept That Apology.

Cry baby
Can you explain that? Very confused on your comment.
Dude, comfortably fit four??? REALLY?!?! I've got a 9 year old who can't fit in the back. Stop lying to us. Better yet, allow a male friend (about 6' tall) to drive the car and you sit behind him for a 30 minute ride AND video tape it for us to watch.
I've had our 5ft 4 girlfriends in the back and the 4 of us can certainly go places. Need to put the front seats up an inch or so. But it does work. Not the best for over an hour. But it works. I have a very old video you can watch: ua-cam.com/video/1_ndUL230vo/v-deo.html
