man they're suuuuper dope and worth it. Gonna help so so much for smoother shots, and even for getting other people other than myself to film stuff -- makes sure that its stable!
You're always killing it Josh. Keep it up homie!
This is the first video I watched on your channel and at the last part where you said you just wanted 1k subs, I was like “the quality of your videois in the 200-300k sub level!” Subbed!
Man THANK you! I appreciate that so much. In a rut, but going to get back at it!
awesome vid man!
Great vid cuz!!
Good vid man
Nice buddy! The Ronin SC looks great! I have the Zhiyun Weebill Lab which is absolutely amazing for travel as it’s under 1kg. FeiyuTech recently sent me the AK4000 bunt with it being a lot bigger and probably 3 times the weight I can’t see myself using it that much. Cheers!
Hi Thom
Just wondering if you had any issues using this camera/gimbal set up in the undertaking mode? Got my robin sc and a6500 but was just a bit worried about opening the Ronin up
Thanks for the review and test. Just ordered after watching. I’m also shooting with the a6300 so I’ll see what I can do. Thanks again
Awesome! Best of luck, you'll love it!!
@@JoshThom Thanks broham
@@BillyBusby When you get some amazing footage come on back and send me the link!
Nice video dude. Nice clean production. I'm considering this one. Looks cool, but still looks a little big to travel around with. Thata my main concern. Been eyeing up the g6 plus but weight load isn't good enough to work with many lenses.
appreciate it Marlon!! Yeah, it is a bit bulkier than I would have hoped, but the locking arms feature makes it easy to strap to a backpack. I think the Lumix bodies may be a bit heavy, but it can weightbear my a7iii with a 16-35 on!
mine is on the way gonna use it with my 6400 and sigma 16 babyyy I'm so excited this will be my first gimbal (not including drones/Osmo Pocket 😂)
Chad R yeah man it’s awesome! Tell me when you’ve uploaded something with it I’ll check it out!
Do you know if the Ronin sc pro with the focus wheel is compatible with Sony a6300 ?
what camera controls work for sony a6xxx? Does the gimbal charge the camera via USB? Is it possible start/stop recording? Zoom? Follow Focus? I have found no info about these features yet.
It would be perfect for my a6500 + 18-105 f4, if all these would work?
just bought one..shot some videos with it..yes it did a great job..(im new to videography by the way :D)
very entertaining review..thanks a lot man..
Awesome to hear! I hope you enjoy and fall in love with videography :) If you upload any clips I'd love to give them a look!
@@JoshThom thanks for support dude.. feel free to leave comments/advise 😎👍👍👍
I consider to sell ak2000 for ronin SC, Did you take any not slowed down 4k footage? I wonder how it looks at paralax and other modes. I own ak2000 and it's shaky and gimbal something gets vibration.
Hello! Very nice video! I have Sony a6400 and Ronin SC, but I can't get smooth footage like other people on UA-cam. It's not terrible, but it is a little shaky and there is also up and down motion present. It is less noticeable when I record 4k at 24p, but then the video gets a little too blurry and kind of gives me a slight headache to look at it. The balance test says everything is excellent and I do the ninja walk. I understand that it might be my technique that is causing it, but could it be the lense? I'm using the 16-50 Sony OSS lense. Also, do you bump up the stiffness settings in the app, or do you use the autotune settings? I would really appreciate it if you could help me to figure this out. Thanks again and have a great day!
Hi! Yes I definitely dug into the in-app settings and got the stiffness tuned so it doesnt pop around on its own, it'll take a bit to tweak but it'll help a lot!
@@JoshThom Okay, thank you very much!
Do you mean at the beginning what is the heaviest instead of lightest camera for the SC.
Does it work with Sony a3000 and Nikon d3500?
Hey mna, love your video! I want to ask you if you can charge the camera by usb with the gimbal?
Yeah! It’s a USB charger so if you have any form of wall plug you can charge it no problem. It can also be charged by any computer!
Josh Thom Do you know if the Ronin sc pro with the focus wheel compatible with the Sony A6300?
Yep that’s the system I run!
are you using the usb c to usb c cable with adapter? cuz I can't seem to connect my a6400 with the included usb c cable to micro usb. THANKS!
Hey! I am using the micro usb... I believe the inputs are the same between the a64 and the a63, I'll look into it and get back to you!!
@@JoshThom thanks!
Hey sorry for the long wait! I am using the micro usb, it doesn’t fit on your camera?
Does active track work with the a6300? Just wondering if the basic sc kit includes the right cables to connect to the camera? Thanks!
Hey! So all camera require the use of the smartphone app to use active track-- i think its more of a gimmicky feature- you need to mount your phone then the gimbal mirrors the sight of your phone's camera through the app.
Josh Thom I gotcha, thank you for the quick feedback!
@@joeduggan3549 absolutely Joe, good luck :)
Hi there!. Are you able to balance with 50mm lens (sel50f18)?
easy payload! For sure!!
Do you think the gimbal would be able to hold a sony a6000 with the 35mm 1.8 attached?
For sure. I just mounted my A7III with the Sigma 24mm. Heavy set up, but it can work :)
This is the exact set up I’m rocking rn but for some reason the gimbal feels like a shakes as if it’s being “over worked” how can I fix this?
why its not working object tracking using a6000 in dji ronin sc
How did you manage that transition where you Juno off the step ?
That was a whip with some motion blur hiding the cut!
This or the combo version ? What you think about? I ve also a 6300 but with Lens kit .
To tell you the truth over the course of 3 montsh I bought all the things included in the combo. So I'd say that haha.
@@JoshThom 😂 thankyou!
is A6000 compatible with that gimbal software ? i mean can you use the record button through the cable that connecting gimbal with Sony A6000 ?
Yep! as long as it has a micro USB port (which it does) its fully controllable!
@@JoshThom this is the answer i waiting for because i already bought it, and i didn't have any camera that mentioned in compatibility list
@@luan2585 no worries mna! Best of luck with it. The a6000 is super duper light too so balancing it wouldn't be an issue.
@@JoshThom okay then, thanks for the answer, really informative
I have the same doubt (and the same camera), are all, absolutely all the functions of the Ronin SC, compatible with the Sony A6000?
What kind of lens do you use in this video on a6000? Thanks
I use the Sigma 16mm ! Super sweet and lightweight.
Hi Josh great review, Subbed! Hey i'm also using A6300 with Sigma 16mm, thinking of ordering the SC now. Do you have problem when the lens could hit the back arm when tilting up?
Yo! I adjusted my pins to fit so there’s no problem, it’s a combination between the second arm’s length and making sure that the gimbal’s plate is as far forward as needed.
Did someone used ronin sc with A6300 kit lense with focus motor?
would definitely work. When you change focal distance you may have to adjust balance
@@JoshThom thanks i Will try it
Does it control zoom on a lens like 18-105 F4?
You’d most likely have to readjust based on the zoom as it would shift the balance of the lense
Are you able to balance the sigma 18-35 with the sc?
Yes you can balance it, however I've found that if I were to adjust the focal length I'd need to make minor adjustments-- which is very simple with their new system!
@@JoshThom thanks so much for your reply. I've been looking at this gimbal for too long. It's ether this gimbal or a handle bar :))) I don't want to carry around too much weight. So you didn't need weights or a cage?
@@Copernicus22 there are two different places on the plates to shift your setting so you could be alright... I don't think a counterweight would be the worst thing in the world-- it could give you more options to rig!
What little mic did you use in this video?
For this one I used the RODE wireless lav system. I've been thinking up a way to make a good video covering it. Coming soon!
Would the A5100 work with this gimbal?
For sure man! I just followed the 6000 lines, but it’d fit just fine :)
@@JoshThom Great thanks Josh! Love you and your channel! I came over from Tom's, love it when you're in his vids, you crack me up! hahah!
@@AllAboutNat thanks man i'm glad you came over!!
Does the Ronin-SC charge the camera?
(a6300)
unfortunately it does not :(
What adapter are you using for your lens?
MC-11 all day!
But that lens was a direct e-mount
I have ROnin SC & Sony A6300 . The cable (Camera to Stabilizer) is not sufficient to fix. Please suggest
where is the gimble link bro....
does the sc work with the a6100?
Just hopped in and did a bit of research Yes it will work, but will not charge the camera while in use. Thanks for tuning in :)
@@JoshThom haha awesome brotha thank you!
what about the gymbal not suported video recording in A6000????
What we're talking about here is starting recording with the button on your camera, not the button on the gimbal. You'll still be able to balance the camera and let it rip. No worries.
Thanks bro I'm go buy for my A6000
Does it really work with a Sony A6000?
It actually does.
@@fitbyfred even with the kit lens? And all controls work?
How would this gimbal go with the Sony A6100 + Compact on-camera shotgun mic (Rode Videomic NTG)?
i can guarantee you could balance it-- I can't guarantee recording/ stop/ start controls through the camera, although I would assume it would work, as the 6100 is a new line camera and has the correct ports.
@@JoshThom Thanks for the prompt reply Josh. I'm trying to decide whether to keep the Sony + Gimbal or trade in the camera for an Olympus OMD eM5 iii within inbuilt IBIS.
I'm hearing the Oly has better color science and video features than the newish, but entry-level Sony a6100.
@@peoplelikeus3684 Yeah, I have no experience with the Olym, I've just always been in the Sony club. I'd have to do more research but the OMD eM5iii sounds like a great camera at first impression!
Can i use record button on Ronin SC with a6300?
Yes you can!
Josh Thom How is the setting ?
@@hermansukarno as is, no changes needed
Josh Thom Mine it won't work. Is there any specific setting in camera?
Which cable should i use?
3:32 what mode you use for this shoot?
Mode 1 for that one! I was holding the trigger I believe though so that it wouldn't tilt as I rotated
@@JoshThom thanks i was trying to find the mode to make a paralax shoot.
@@Sglaucoss ahhhhh yes. Normally I would shoot in 4k, back up with mode 1 and then keyframe a scale-in in post
unless you're talking about the infinite roll, which needs to be set in the app!
Does gimbal charge your camera a6300?
Unfortunately not- just camera controls
@@JoshThom damn! thanks
Does it work with a6000 ???
Yep!!
Josh Thom
Nope !! Only for photos..
video recording not supported.. !!!
@@JoshThom Can Ronin SC turn on/off video recording of Sony a6000?
Ronin SC or Weebill Lab for Sony A6400??? Please HALPPPPP!!!! :D
Oooooo man I tested out the weebill at NAB this year. Great gimbal. Cons- more expensive and bulkier.
Ronin also updates their stuff more frequently. Their motion lapse stuff is insane too.
I’d go with the SC.
@@JoshThom Thank you :) How about weight? I pick my Ronin SC yesterday and it's not so light :P? Does Weebill fills lighter?
@@sergioart8566 ronin sc is definitely, like definitely the lightest robust gimbal on the market. Weebill felt much heavier, but nothing compared to the Ronin S or M hehehe!
You forgot inexpensive it’s only about 200 dollars it’s so cheap! For being a gimbal and a thing from dji
Lol
so much LOVE brotha!! Thank you thank you! Its been a while but we're back haha
you're right the m2 was garbage... i returned it
1:15 Lies...your hands are just small for other gimbals, lol 😆 (jk)
Hehe you caught me 🤓
Dji fanboy. Lol
That thing is huge compared to the M2S
was i the only one cringing cause that camera is one wrong move away from getting destroyed on the desk lol
Just wait until I release my video this afternoon ... some old vintage gear got reaaaal close to breaking 😥😅
