      I played wild arms in this order. 1,2,3,5,4. Loved it since I was 15. I played wa4 when I was about 27~28 and I was already familiar with the hex battles from 5. I absolutely loved the system when I figured it out in both games. It was something new and definitely fun a d challenging once you got the hang of it.

      I don't like the HEX battle system in Wild Arms 4, but I like the improved version in the WA 5. Even the battle musics in WA 5 are so good sometimes I have to listen it again from youtube. Those combinations make the grinding session never boring. But I found it difficult about the puzzle especially in the last boss area that I must read and follow the walkthrough on the internet.

    Wild Arms 4 was one of the first games I played on the PS2. Sadly cause I was an 6 year old not understanding what RPGs are and the fact this game is glitched and stuck on the loading screen after reaching a certain point, I never got to finish nor experience it.

    Wild Arms 5 is my second fave in the series so far!! It ages pretty well and let me say something interesting (at least for me) Lunar Silver Star Harmony, the remake from PSP is the REASON that made me buy instantly the PSP from a great friend of mine back in 2009!!!! When I saw in japanese those STUNNING character designs poping out of the screen, showing the four heroes with such fluid 2D graphics, my heart melts!! It was like a dream come true for me!!! I tottaly agree with Erick in this one!! For me it is the best version to play nowadays!! But sadly we never have the same treatment with Lunar Eternal Blue!! Imagine you a version of that game, with the same revamp aesthetics???!!! Joshua our friend from Gamez Of War, would aprove it right away!!

    • @ifrit1937
      @ifrit1937 3 роки тому

      @@kjriwoutube Comes down to if Xseed is willing to sell off the rights to NISA to use their translation....in EU it may honestly be possible as NISA was the ones to publish Xseed's translation in EU (granted...they may need to negotiate again for the switch version as the translation likely only applies to the PS3, Vita, and PC versions) so they already did it before, whether or not they'll do so for NA though is another issue...if they decide they want to publish it in NA cause it will likely get them more cash than they'd want Falcom to let them (Xseed) do the localization of CS1 and 2 on Switch...if they feel like they can make some money from letting NISA do it (and it be more money than localizing it themselves) they'll sell off the rights and translation to NISA. Finally it also comes down to whether or not Falcom or Xseed own the full rights to the games' translations...if Falcom does then they can just give the rights to NISA for the switch and Xseed won't be involved at all (while some translations are fully owned by the translation companies some translations are owned solely by the original developer of the game, if the Xseed developed Falcoms games are done this way Falcom can honestly give any publisher the translation to get ported to a new system if they want...though i expect they'd try to go to the original translator/publisher first and give them a chance to do it first and if they refuse give said rights to a company that would.
      Also...while it's a slower option they can also likely give NISA the rights to publish their own translation for that particular version (Switch) as more likely than not the rights Xseed hold are only for their translation on the platforms they already published on (PS3, Vita, PSP, and PC), if NISA were to start their own translation from scratch it likely would be legal for them to make their own version as long as Xseed doesn't have some sort of stipulation they have rights to translate the game on the previously mentioned platforms the games are already on as well as any platforms made in the future...with that said such a contract would likely have an end date (probably 10 years) so I wouldn't be surprised if NISA starts chucking out Sky 1-3 and CS1 and 2 on upcoming platforms 3+ years from now.
      Personally my own opinion is Xseed would be a fool to either not try to publish the Switch versions themselves or give the rights to NISA for a price if they do have some sort of stipulation in their contract to Falcom preventing other publishers from releasing other versions of the game without an agreement to them (Xseed) first. Most Trails fans will likely double (or triple) dip and then there's Nintendo jrpg fans that seem to be willing to buy any jrpg that comes to the systems on top of regular Nintendo fans that are also more open to buy it than say your usual casual Sony or Microsoft player who mainly focuses on the bigger games as most Nintendo games have an art style similar to Trails/jrpgs in general.

    Love wild arms since the very first one came out. Played 5 before 4 though when I was about 19~21 so I got the hang of the hex system an found it pretty fun once I figured it out. Picked up 4 when I was about 27~29 and was familiar with the system and the franchise. The music was great and really fit the story. The plot really was good but it was pretty bleak. Not all happy endings and quite a bit of tragedy goes on in that game with both the heros and villains. That's what made it so good and different in my opinion. The characters have to deal with fighting for something, curing their illness, saving their loved ones, loosing their home...etc only to not succeed sometimes and having to bear their grief and push on. It resonated with me alot when I played it. Don't know why it got a bad rep. I can see the battle system being a factor since it was so different from the previous.

    It's frustrating how XSEED was reliable at publishing Falcom titles, until they dropped the ball on my favorite one (Ys 8). Now, it seems like they exclusively publish games for Marvelous, which was great until they wound up censoring Senran Kagura. I love how their employees fought to keep content in Senran Kagura, but as they grew that integrity kinda went away. Either way, they did release a lot of amazing games in english that probably wouldn't have ever made it here.
    As for Lunar on the PSP, I really enjoyed the game, but I really wish they kept the same amount of voice acting as in the PS1 release. I also prefer the older music. It was so close to being a "Definitive Edition" but it being stuck on the PSP and cutting a ton of voice acting makes it just one of two ideal ways to enjoy Lunar.

      @@EternalReplicant To be fair...most games made after CS2 that Xseed has localized have had fairly mediocre translations...mainly due to many staff members leaving the company...throw in Marvelous's own move towards the woke movement with censorship in some cases (Senran Kagura comes to mind) and honestly the company's a shell of it's former greatness imo.
      On the other hand ever since NISA got Ys 8 they've done decently in their translations of all games released after it and at the least had enough grace to go back and fix their Ys 8's translation (personally never really had an issue with the original translation if i'm to be honest...ya Big Hole sounds stupid and all but it feels like something the characters would actually call it rather than chasm due to some of their personalities (Sahad and Ricotta in particular, Laxia, Dana, and a few of the NPCs i can see calling it Chasm while Adol and Hummel likely wouldn't care what it's called...also feel like ancient species was a bit of a more fitting translation than primordials as Ancient species indicates a species that died off while Primordials sounds more like a name of a god or being higher than a god/Titan/Spirit which was involved in creating the earth/whatever their planet's name is). And their CS3 and 4 translations have been mostly solid, definitely more care put in than their Ys games at least and better than post CS2 Xseed games.
      But ya NISA wound up getting the series due to the better deal by including porting the game to Vita and PC as well (in particular the PC port) and then later Switch.

      I think you mean "fleshed" out, but yes, it does seem like it is a bit smoother. SH1 was a basic turn-based RPG, SH2 added some stuff, and SH3 refined it a bit. All 3 are neat games, though I can get where some people are put off by the sudden tone shift to whacky whimsical "this doesn't make any sort of realistic sense whatsoever" stuff that goes on in it. Is XSEED a pubblisher exclusive for America? Because aside some games on steam and Maybe YS SEVEN for the psp I dont think I ever see a game pubblished by them here in Europe, they were always pubblished by other companies (Trails of cold steel 1 and 2 were originally pubblished by NIS America here, only the ps3 and psvita version though, not the remaster, Wild Arms 4 and 5 by 505 games, The Last Story by Nintendo, etc...)
    Nowadays the games are pubblished here by Marvelous Europe though (like Sakuna), and from what I' d understood, the two pubblishers are "connected", still, it' s not exactly XSEED Games
    I dont know, I Am kinda Curious about that, because for a very long time I have never heard of them

    • @ifrit1937
      @ifrit1937 3 роки тому +1

      Ya as far as I know Xseed only does the NA. With that said the EU versions of CS1 and 2 were translated by Xseed as well, if i'm right, and they came to an agreement with NISA so that NISA could sell said translation in the west....now it's just basically NISA localizing the game everywhere in both NA and EU and so on and some members of the Xseed translation team left Xseed and joined NISA (if only for the Trails games and nothing else either as contractors for those games or as full time devs...which is why while it's not as good as it was back at Xseed the NISA Trails games have had mostly solid translations...don't think they work on Ys though which is why Ys 8 and 9 have a few more issues than CS3 & 4).
      And I'll be honest...ever since those few team members left (some left due to Marvelous more or less abandoning Falcom or Falcom abandoning them while others left due to censorship practices starting to pop up in the company) Xseed's translation's quality have dropped drastically...they are not the same Xseed from Sky, CS1 and 2, pre 8 Ys. I won't say NISA is perfect but for the most part it seems like they're letting the old Trails members try to get the games to as close as the quality of Sky/early CS games as possible while getting the games out relatively quickly and on more platforms (Switch and PC, something Xseed either couldn't or wouldn't do, likely due to lack of manpower and its costs).

      Those aren't XSEED games really. They just publish it for Nintendo in America.

      @@DJK1NGGaming This is a list of games published XSeed. Both games were published by XSeed. The last story was number 1 on Erick's list and the only reason Pandora's Tower was not on his list is it didn't like to motion controls.

    It's hard to say that Wild Arms XF "ruined" the series. The game is perfectly fine for a PSP spinoff title. I think it was actually WA5 that ruined the series. The game was amazing, but it released in Japan 1 month after the PS3, and in the US 5 months after the PS3. I'm willing to guess, based on current eBay prices, that it didn't sell terribly well. Unfortunately, it is sales, and not quality, that determines a franchise's future. They just need to re-release it on Switch and use it to reboot the franchise!

    I still haven't played the Wild Arms series, but the visuals in 5 look LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than 4. I was very disappointed when I saw Visual Novel scenes in 4.

    For me Wild Arms 5 is far from being the best Wild Arms.

      I like 3 the best, but 5 has its charms. It just feels at times like it was forged from pure anime cliche. I liked Tidus as a character yet disliked Dean.

      @@WhiteFangofWar I agree. WA 5 has a lot of anime cliché. and they also exaggerate the puzzles.

      @@true-omegaid8467 I actually like the puzzles, and giving all the tools to Dean is a welcome quality of life change. It was just the story and characters that put me off sometimes, though I do like Greg.

    Someone will jave to exp'lain to me how to enjoy Last Story. I cant stand that game. You don't even have an attack button!

      There's an option to change how you attack but I don't remember what it's called. I only remember that the default setting is automatic, and you want to change it to manual so you have to press buttons to attack.
